    Great video.
    I remember my mom going to Hong Kong some 25 years ago when she said dim sum was 60 cents US, .(87 Aud). She said people piled so many dim sum plates in front of them after eating, you could not see their faces anymore. Lol. In NYC now, dishes are $4.00 and up a dish ($5.84 Aud
    She also went to the Jumbo boat restaurant that recently closed and heard the boat sunk.!
    Keep doing your signature “hello, hello, hello” and “byeeeee” at the end!

    With prawns use a knife and fork. The same way you eat a banana and a Mars bar with a knife and fork. No mess and you’ll look extra civilised. 👌

      I’ve never eaten a banana or Mars bar with a knife and fork

    • @Jamiefrommelbourne
      @Jamiefrommelbourne 2 роки тому

      @@JaniceFung try it- you’ll never look back and you’ll be able to handle prawns like a pro. Especially when mum does big banana prawns in a sticky glaze. You peel the prawns with knife and fork and dip the meat into the sauce. That’s how you handle a prawn situation with finesse.

    It's interesting to me how the Cantonese term "yum cha" is part of the English speaking vernacular amongst Australians. This use of "yum cha" simply doesn't exist amongst English speakers in the United States. Here, rather than saying, for example, "Let's go yum cha," we would say, "Let's go get some dim sum." Something like that. The operative term would be "dim sum." Amongst Cantonese speaking folks in the U.S., of course, "yum cha" is a common expression. But, outside the confines of a Cantonese conversation, "yum cha" is never used. Personally, I think it's cool that "yum cha" is used in an English speaking context in Australia. I wonder if "yum cha" is similarly used in the United Kingdom and Canada. I don't think it is. But, I don't know.
