    Lossless Scaling is so much better than other options available, especially for the ROG Ally X. I can get virtually maximum frames without having to worry too much about frame skips and the latency is amazing. The amount of resolution scaling they do is pretty nicce too, I love it

    The main problem with lossless scaling is it lowers the regular fps of your game Drastically. So lets say your running at 45-60. It will now run 32-47 but upped to 64-94. You’d think that would be good but it makes it unplayable with input delay because you really need a minimum of 45 to not get tons of delay.

    This works flawlessly for playing Minecraft with shaders alongside mods but it suffered to be convenient in multiplayer shooters

    I love LS. Can you do a comprehensive breakdown of the scaling portion of it please just to make sure I haven't missed anything?

    It's a considerable trade-off, in my opinion.

    You forgot to mention that using fg will lower your actual fps before inserting the generated frame.. you can actually get better real fps if you turn off FG

      I did mention that somewhere in the video, or it might have been in my "best FF7 Rebirth settings" video, where I test lossless in that too and recommend it off.

    This is actually based on AMD's opensource Framegen tech used in FSR3 and AFMF Lossless Scaling has been on an older version of that for a while now but is now on the latest version after the last update I am not saying that he just took the code and ran with it either he definitely made some tweaks this has been the only way I have been able to play games from an Emulator with high refresh rate the latency is tolerable if your using a controller

    It’s a lot more useful for getting things from 60fps to 120+. Way less baggage

    Why did you choose a game that runs in the 20 to show lossless this only for games that run 45 and up

    Do you have to launch it every time for each play session

      You can set LS to launch on boot, then add profiles to LS for each game you play so when you launch the game it automatically enables LS

    I got this way back when Frame Gen was first talked about for my 30 series card to try. I recently installed it after the update, and it's the only way FF16 is playable. It's far from flawless, but FSR 3 and in and out of game frame gen kept stuttering.

    It’s so bad for newer games. We need FSR4 hardware or Nvidia graphics in handhelds.

    I personally think it sucks. Tried it, returned it. Too much artifacting. I find that more distracting than having a few less frames

    • @128KB
      @128KB  9 днів тому

      Yeah, I can't deal with frame gen artifacts either, I personally don't use either this or AFMF, we've got a whole video about that coming soon. I'd rather turn it off!

    I'm sorry man but lots of scaling is so freaking overrated.

    • @128KB
      @128KB  9 днів тому

      Yeah that's pretty much my conclusion at the end. I see it can give value to some but I can't deal with frame gen artifacts myself

      I don’t really like it at all. I don’t like AFMF2. The latency is insane on all of them. I feel them very much. I have a 2m USB4 cable to my Razor Core X. 3070ti that feels like playing plugged in on the couch. Done FPS fixed. Still 13k timespyscore on internal screen.

      Not really.. lossless scaling does a great job after it’s update. Artifacts are barely noticeable if at all at 2x frame generation. 3x might be more noticeable but you hardly will ever use that. Hate it or love it frame gen is being worked on to provide higher frame rates at no performance cost so pc handhelds and pcs can run games much better without having to have the latest graphics or kill themselves with heat.
      Comparing this app to Afmf; lossless from my experience runs leagues better than Afmf. If you’re a pixel peeper or sensitive to lag, stuttering, latency of any degree, tearing, then yeah I guess it isn’t for you. Some people prefer just using the hardwares power and hate even the smallest artifact or latency even if it’s barely present. Others don’t care so much and prefer seeing good frame rates with minimal artifacts over low frame rates.

      @@LordMaxedThere is most definitely performance cost. It drops real fps then doubles that figure with framegen. It's so laggy. I paid, tried it, said nah and left it alone. They can keep the 8 dollars. If you like it, enjoy.
