Aces! Just Aces! Thx for the video. Worked like a charm! My seal was badly torn at the bottom and all the other "quick" fixes on UA-cam failed hard. Great instructional. Pro tips: -Follow video closely -Buy the right size door seal for your machine -Don't skimp on the dish soap around the seal when installing -It's a bit tricky to get the first, inside lip done. Start at the top and hold it in place while running your thumb or finger around the edge and the seal will slip into place with the help of the soap. -Get a second pair of hands to hold the spring loaded wire in place at the end while you work the rest around the seal.
Thanks for these clear and helpful instructions. It made us repair our washing machine at low costs. (It was however challenging to get everything exactly in place)
Phew! Just finished, the tutorial helped, but made it look a lot easier than it is! The washing up liquid tip was really useful. Note that on our newer model Samsung machine, you tighten the screw on the inner band to loosen it, rather than loosening the screw as logic would dictate.
THANKS! for the video instructions. Absolutely clear. And the "washing liquid" tip makes it soooo much easier. Watched your video, replaced the door seal after dinner, happy wife and still time to watch the next episode of Game of Thrones before bedtime. Awesome!
I did it! Although whoever assembled the machine and put the band on the inside must have been on a tightening spree. Getting the screw loose took the longest out of all of it. TIP for tight screws: I used oil and a few taps with a hammer to get the screw loose. But I feel a Rockstar! Thanks for the Video Tutorial. So helpful.
Hi, thanks for your comment! It's great to hear that our video was so helpful to you being able to fix your washing machine yourself. Well done for completing the fix and keeping your washing machine up and running!
Hi, thanks for your comment. It's great to hear that our video was so helpful to you! Well done for completing the door seal replacement yourself, and thanks for your tip regards the screw. Glad we could help you keep your washing machine running....well done for doing the repair yourself!
Thanks for posting this. Had to fix a problem with the gasket on my Samsung washer and I missed the retaining band on the outer seal. Trying to get the inner-seal of the gasket back in place while it was attached to the front-panel was a horror show. Pretty sure you just saved me having to buy a new washer so cheers mate.
Just tried this out on my Samsung machine and the advice was spot on. Thanks a lot! The rubber seal had tangled all my smalls together but now everything's fine(and re-washed) 😊
Thank you for this video, you just saved my family a few hundred $$$. Video makes look a little easier but after some perseverance it went back together. Thanks again for the great vid
Thanks was easier than expected a little fiddly but easy diy job even for me 👍🏻washing up liquid was awesome tip. Turn rear band screw right to undo on eco bubble, saved a packet ordering online and doing the job myself.
I agree, have fitted to seals last week and one more tomorrow. The inner retainer is extremely tight using screwdrivers to push it back into the grove. Then the seal comes back off. Even if you undo the spring and try to pull it together that’s not easy either, hence I need a second pair of hands
Thanks for the comments Sarah. The spring can stick to the seal and be difficult to remove but always start next to the spring as this will make it easier. Hope all is now well.
eSpares yes thank you. The soap definitely helps. I spoke too soon in my earlier comment. The outer spring is the easy part! 3:11 is where my brain couldn't comprehend which ridge went where. Despite your clear demonstration. I had to take a couple breaks to regroup :) thank you for making this video. Samsung could only send a technician on Wednesday but my husband and I couldn't deal without a washer that long. Thankfully they had a spare part I could buy outright.
Hi - I'm mid way through and this video is really helpful. My machine is an ecobubble 7kg bought in 2014 (WF70F5E2W4W/EU). Luckily the inner wire screw is in the same place as in the video, but on my model the wire tightens in the opposite direction - so if it doesn't seem to be loosening try turning to the right. They have overlapped the wires so as you tighten the screw you are actually pushing the 2 ends of the wire further apart - once you get it off it will make sense!
+Simon Hill Hi Simon, thanks for your comments. On this one you can see the clamp from around 2:00 and in this case as the screw is tightened it draws the two ends of the clamp together to prevent the seal letting water passed.
Great general tutorial; however, it is much easier to put everything back together if you go through a few extra steps to remove the front door and cover. It only takes an extra five minutes, but it will save the frustration of trying to get the bands back on the bottom if the drum without being able to see anything.
All of the “tutorials” do, a proper video would be showing the inner and outer side the gasket goes back in, and not changing the cameras angle without and guide as to what’s what
Hi, thanks for your comment...one thing you could try is to move the retaining wire around the seal using a screwdriver to work the wire around. If choosing to use this method, do be careful of damaging the seal with the screwdriver.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Well done for completing the fix yourself to keep your washing machine going, Glad our video could help you along the way!
Thanks for the video, very useful. However, I needed help to get the tight space exposed. As others mentioned the unscrewing is very difficult - I used in the end an no 8 socket key and it worked well. If it weren't for saving a couple of hundreds EUR...
Hi, I need some advice please. I am currently needing to replace the door lock, brushes and the gasket on my WXLM148AUK/19 Siemens washing machine. I have ordered a gasket which has arrived but it has a spout at the top which mine doesn't seem to have..I have contacted the seller and he say's that the manufacturer's made two gaskets that will fit my model. I am wondering if water will run through the little tube and down into my washer if it has nothing to connect to. Are there 2 gaskets that fit this model?
Thanks for tutorial, it helped a lot. My only issue is that my washing machine isn’t able to complete cycles cause once it gets into full spin cycle, it seems to be rubbing to much. I can’t seem to locate where. I put detergent on and it helps a bit but eventually it comes back?
Hi Alex, if we have more information we may be able to help. Are you saying the front edge of the drum is rubbing on the door seal?. And does this problem happen when the machine is having a 'shaky' spin with heavy washing?. Does the machine spin OK when empty or is it still noisy?. Watch this video first as it may explain how the problem could be due to the wash load: ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html
This is a very useful video, thank you. I'm part way through and am having trouble with the the new seal, I can connect the seal inside at the top but it will not hook on at the bottom where the drainage part is. Any tips or a video of that part of the process would be helpful please. It's 3mins into your video that I'm needing help. Thanks
+Sarah Bilk Smear a little washing up liquid in the slot in the seal to help it slip on. Start at the bottom and run your fingers around the seal pushing at the back of the lip as it pushes into place and slowly move along the back edge of the seal progressively pushing into place.
Hi Shelly, we are sure we can supply the spring for your washer but you will need to enter your full model number on our website here: www.espares.co.uk/browse/at1085ma596/washing-machines/samsung If you cannot find the part fill in your information here: www.espares.co.uk/contact
Hi chaturpandit, you just need to loosen the retainer and feed it around the seal and locate it into the same place it came off and re-tighten the screw.
Hi, thanks for your comment it is good to know for people that might have a model similar to yours. We are glad our video has helped you to repair your washing machine!
Be careful when loading heavy items or large loads that you lift the washing over the seal. Pulling washing over the edge can cause damage to the seal or the seal to come away from the panel. Glad to hear we have helped. 😊
Hey mate! Love the videos! My housemate washed few towels full of mechanic oil and degreaser. Now the entire washing machine smells like oil. Any tips or idea that would be the best to get rid of the smell? We already try cleaning product and vinegar and backing soda and bleach... thinking about taking everything appart! Cheers!
Hi Anthofingerskateguit, the smell is caused by the release of the oil into the machine which can be difficult to get rid of, we sell many products to clean the washer www.espares.co.uk/search/cc1427/cleaning-products/laundry-cleaning also try a hot wash.
I'm running into an issue that I'm not sure if it caused by the door gasket or if I've read correctly elsewhere that it might be the Spider assembly. My washer just started making very loud noises during the spin cycle and it kind of shudders a bit. I've looked at the springs and the shock absorbers and they both look good. The front gaskets though looks like it is warped a bit on the inside part and after each spin cycle there appears to be grey rubber shavings that come off into the tub. The entire thing runs great until the spin cycle at the end. So I'm guessing even if it's not just the gasket that I will have to replace that now as well due to the issues it has taken on. What are your thoughts espares?
Hi Joshua, spiders do not often fail but bearings do wear. Carefully put a slight upward pressure on the rim of the drum and look at the gap between the drum and the seal. If the gap varies as you lift the drum is shows play in the bearings and they are likely to be worn. For more information see our drum diagnosis and bearing videos: ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=wUL5Wb1T71c and ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=XaFF2-Rl8Nc
Hi Joshua, my spider failed causing drum to rub on rubber seal. The bearings and seal were still good. The cause of my spider breaking was corrosion from a buildup of laundry detergent solids in hollow spaces of die cast spider bracket. This caused spider to crumble into little pieces which collected in rubber hose at bottom of washer tub. If you take back cover off of your machine and remove the bottom rubber hose, you may find it is chock full of aluminum granules. If full of these crumbs, your spider has certainly failed. Mine lasted about 6 years before failure. I decided to replace my spider (as well as door seal and bearing seal), but I sand blasted spider and gave it a coating of thick toughened marine epoxy before installing it. It's working again, but I expect to get much more than 6 years of life from spider bracket this time. Samsung needs to put a protective coating on all of their spider brackets at factory.
If the seal has mould that has 'eaten' into it you may not be able to clean it completely. For more information on cleaning seals see this video: ua-cam.com/video/ifWK9df1qgg/v-deo.html
Does the instruction for door seal video is valid for Samsung Washing Machine model WF337AAL/XAC ? There is no way to know if all Samsung machine has the same door seal
Most door seals are fitted with two clamp bands to fix to the tub and front panel. While there may be differences the procedure should be very similar to this video.
Hi Alvaro, funny you should ask this now. We are doing a Samsung washer dryer seal this week but it will not be edited and published for several weeks. The process will be very similar but there is a 'duct' at the top that allows the drying heat into the drum that also has to be fitted. Watch this video and another to 'supplement' this: ua-cam.com/video/noB2W06hcUs/v-deo.html
I have a Samsung J10451W1 XS A the door latch ZV466L Has burn marks on it so the error code is de. I .ca replace the latch switch but because the plug has also got burn marks and melted on to the latch I'm having to replace the wiring any help would be appreciated
Hi Jacqui, it is likely the burning was caused by a connector that was not fitted tightly as this causes heat when current goes through it. While it is possible for an 'amateur' to replace the connectors it has to be done right or it could be a potential fire hazard. We would recommend this is done by someone with experience of fitting these connectors like a mechanic or electrician/ engineer and not one for beginners.
Hi Darren Pene Junior Pati, it may be the nut is turning so it won't allow you to turn it so try using a pair of pliers to hold the one side and then use your screwdriver to loosen it.
I don't ever advise anyone to use washing up liquid to lubricate rubber parts as it never dries out and is potentially corrosive. Liquid soap is better as it dries and is safe
Love all the videos on here don’t show you how to put the insert back in, with the correct side casing the way it should, ie… this is the back side and the front side of the seal…
Completely impossible to remove the inner band on our machine, the one in the video has far more space around it to use, and unscrews, unlike ours which does for a bit and then refuses to move further. Have to call the engineer out, oh well...
Well, I have spent over an hour and have given up and will have to buy a new machine. My experience was nothing like as smooth as the video. Top of the machine, once removed, revealed a whole load of innards and electrics I had to get through before I could even see the inner ring. No way at all to get a screwdriver to engage with the vital screw on that ring - you could just get the screwdriver in but no room to turn it other than using finger tips which gives no torque. And the screw never budged a fraction of a millimetre - and now the head of the screw is disintegrating. Really disappointing. Not e-spares fault, of course. I'm not saying that. But the optimism inspired by the video was sadly misplaced and what should have been a less than £50 repair is going to be a new machine. And, of course, I have purchased a now-useless replacement seal.
I ended up completely disassembling the front of mine to get to the ring and seal. I felt your pain but the trick seems to be the same as chicken. Strip it
Video sneakily edits out how tricky this really is. NOT an EASY 5 minute job. Try 30mins + swearing. Can be done, but expect it to be much harder than this guy pretends it to be. Its so unfuriatingly tricky Im tempted to post a "Heres how hard it really is" response video.
Hi IamthePMofAustralia, thank you for your post and we know the door seal can difficult but the video is there to show you how to do it, we try to show you the steps rather than watching Mat struggle but will address this in the future.
Aces! Just Aces! Thx for the video. Worked like a charm! My seal was badly torn at the bottom and all the other "quick" fixes on UA-cam failed hard. Great instructional.

-It's a bit tricky to get the first, inside lip done. Start at the top and hold it in place while running your thumb or finger around the edge and the seal will slip into place with the help of the soap.
-Get a second pair of hands to hold the spring loaded wire in place at the end while you work the rest around the seal.
Thanks for the comments Mike. If you order the seal for the correct model it will be the correct size. Glad you enjoyed the video and it helped.
Thanks for these clear and helpful instructions. It made us repair our washing machine at low costs. (It was however challenging to get everything exactly in place)
Hi Meneer Huls, thank you for your post, well done for sorting it as you are right it can be a challenge if you have never done this before.
Did it! Took 90 mins not 5 but got there in the end. That inner ring is fiddly as anything. Thanks so much for the video.

Thank you very much!
Thanks for the comments Ryan, remember to 'like’ the video if you enjoyed it or it helped.👍
I celebrated a bit early: it's not leaking from the door anymore, now water's coming from underneath
Check the seal is fitted correctly to the tub rim and refit if necessary. Good luck.
Thank you.
I'll give it a go when I get the chance
:-)
Thank you for this excellent instructional video. Your chap makes it look a lot easier, however it saved an expensive repairman. Cheers!
Thanks for the comments Rob, hope you did not have to struggle too much.
eSpares the fiddliest part was trying to get the seal over the inside lip. Took 2 attempts but got there. Thanks again.
😊
Thank you for this video, you just saved my family a few hundred $$$. Video makes look a little easier but after some perseverance it went back together. Thanks again for the great vid

Thanks! Replacing my gasket was nearly the same, but the process was straight forward. Very helpful video.
Hi Larry, thank you for the post and glad the video helped.
Don’t be fooled the spring band is a lot tighter than it’s made out in the video. Great content and thanks for the help
Hi Stewart, thank you for your post and you are right getting the band back on can be very tight.
I agree, have fitted to seals last week and one more tomorrow. The inner retainer is extremely tight using screwdrivers to push it back into the grove.
Then the seal comes back off.
Even if you undo the spring and try to pull it together that’s not easy either, hence I need a second pair of hands
Thanks Matt, manage to do without hubbys help, saved us $200.
Thanks for the comments. 😊
Your Hubby would have charged $200?? 😦
Holy crap. Can I just say, you made the first half look easy. I really had to jimmy the spring out. Thx for the video :)
Don't forget we stock and supply most parts at least as quick as the manufacturer's. Glad you sorted in the end.

Skipped a lot of details. When and how do you get the bands back on.
All of the “tutorials” do, a proper video would be showing the inner and outer side the gasket goes back in, and not changing the cameras angle without and guide as to what’s what
you make it look so easy i'm struggling with the wire to hold the seal on.
Hi, thanks for your comment...one thing you could try is to move the retaining wire around the seal using a screwdriver to work the wire around. If choosing to use this method, do be careful of damaging the seal with the screwdriver.
Perfect. I was able to replace my torn seal. $$$ saved !!!
Hi Andrew, thank you for your post and it has made our day that we helped you save money.

😊
May be a dumb question, bout how you got that inner retainer in after putting the door seal inside?
Hi chaturpandit, you just need to loosen the retainer and feed it around the seal and locate it into the same place it came off and re-tighten the screw.
Good video but worth mentioning the inner band loosens clockwise on my samsung eco bubble
Hi, thanks for your comment it is good to know for people that might have a model similar to yours. We are glad our video has helped you to repair your washing machine!
My seal dislodged somehow and popped the outer ring. All fixed now. Thanks.
Be careful when loading heavy items or large loads that you lift the washing over the seal. Pulling washing over the edge can cause damage to the seal or the seal to come away from the panel. Glad to hear we have helped. 😊

I’m having problems getting the back retaining band back in the groove

Most door seals are fitted with two clamp bands to fix to the tub and front panel. While there may be differences the procedure should be very similar to this video.

Do you know how to change door seal on Miele W754S. Thanks.
Hi Paul, sorry we do not have any Miele door seal videos but to replace it should be similar to video.
eSpares Hi. Was easy to replace as the machine opens from front
Thank you very much
You are welcome. 😊
eSpares th😊
thank you sir
Hi Dimitios Koykoylas, thank you for your post and you are welcome.
Thank you...
Hi official rapprod, you are welcome and thanks for watching.
He got that inner seal screw off so easy. It's not fair. Mine won't budge.
Hi wjaiv, the hardest part is getting enough access to the screw to be able to release it, try a lubricant to help shift it.
@@eSpares a longer screwdriver did the trick! Now I'm just struggling to get the new one on. Ugh. Can't get the bottom half to stay in place.
Hi wjaiv, you might need a extra pair of hands to help, it can be difficult if you haven't done one before.
Danke !!!!!
'Make sure the lip is over the seal first, before working your way to the bottom'. Thats where l got stuck 3 hours later, lol
I CANT EVEN UNSCREW THE INNER RING!!! UGH!!!! its tightened so much it doesnt even move!
Hi Darren Pene Junior Pati, it may be the nut is turning so it won't allow you to turn it so try using a pair of pliers to hold the one side and then use your screwdriver to loosen it.
@@eSpares ok. I'll give it a go. The space is so small to even get a pliers in there. But I will give it a go anyway
that inner rim is freaking hard to refit .. even with soap .. it helped to put the outer rim inside the drum when I was able..
It can be a bit of a struggle but hopefully you have now managed it.
You didn’t show how to put the band on
I don't ever advise anyone to use washing up liquid to lubricate rubber parts as it never dries out and is potentially corrosive. Liquid soap is better as it dries and is safe
+brandywell44 Thanks for your comments, the seal and the machine tub are both synthetic and neither will corrode.

Hi Eva, how can we help?.
You look like canelo Alvarez
We can see the likeness but Mat is a fixer not a fighter lol.
Hi Adsy125, can you let us have your model details so we can take a look at it as we might be able to help.
eSpares I worked it out, on another of your(?) videos you show how to do it, need to take the front off and stuff so am not going to bother.
Didn’t work at all with mine machine 😢
Strip it
Worst seal design by samsung..regret buying this
Video sneakily edits out how tricky this really is.
