Perfect Instructions. I really don't know how this could be done any better. Whoever edited and managed this presentation is top notch. It took me a little longer because my washer is over 10 years old and the bottom screws were rusted. Thanks very much.
Simon, your video is absolute perfection! My mother had a warranty on her washer and it was leaking. The guy came out and told her that was normal, despite an obvious tear in the boot. When I got to town, the warranty was expired. Convenient. Anyway, I'm stubborn, so I decided to replace it myself. I searched Google and thought I had made a mad mistake... until I found your video! I watched it several times, gathered my tools, and then played it throughout the disassembly, repair, reassembly. It was such a smooth repair and I am so thankful! Took me 2 hours. I have also picked up some fun Simon Sayings! Love the accent. Thank you again!
Thank you for the excellent video. It took me 3 hours to get this done but it was reasonably straightforward. The rotted old seal is gone and the machine is now working nicely with the new seal.
this video perfectly walked me through the entire process without having ever even opened a washing machine for repair. great tutorial, save me a lot of $$$$ being able to do it myself
Perfect instructional video. So easy to follow and no nonsense. I had my laptop with me in the laundry room and paused the video when needed. I wish all UA-cam instructional videos followed this format. Thank you for posting a simple and thorough video! I completed it from start to finish in about an hour. I saved some money and I was feeling pretty proud of myself after I did it. No leaks and I have bragging rights :)
Only video on internet which clearly show every detailed step to show how to change this seal. At-least for this specific model. Thanks Sir. Very helpful.
Thank you for the excellent video. I needed to clean my seal. I removed it using your steps. Soaked gasket in bleach solution overnight and the results were amazing. No need to purchase new seal now. I also removed the complete soap dispenser assembly to make cleaning it easier. Not including the soak time on the gasket, this was an hour and a half job. I then ran Affresh through the self clean cycle. It’s like having a new washer. Very easy DIY project. Easy way to save lots of money.
So clutch, thanks! Btw @4:54 when removing the clamp my screw needed to be turned counter-clockwise to loosen, it depends on the model. Also I had to take some components off of my old boot seal and thread them through the new one, it took some effort but they squeeze through just fine. Other videos don’t remove the counterweights but removing them helps access the screw on the inside clamp on the left. Cheers!
I wish I caught this comment before I stripped the screw head turning it clockwise. Such a detailed video and got me far until now. I hope others don't follow this step and caution is placed about turning the screw the wrong way!
This dude is amazing! I watched several other videos but was getting hung up on steps they had left out. Everytime I went back to this video, he addressed the steps that others left out! The only thing that no video I watched included was how to get the stupid light in and out. I'm at the point of placing the new boot on and really hope I can avoid removing the counter weights.
Thanks so much for this video! I had a slightly different model, but was close enough that I was able to get it done! Saved me a boat load of money to have someone come do it! Very detailed instructions! You are a life saver!
A+ This video is an example on how this DIY should be, straight to the point, thank you! Even tho I didn’t buy the product replacement from your website I appreciate your video on here.🎉
I echo my things along with so many others. This video provided me the exact step-by-step instructions I need to replace my boot seal. It took me a little longer than most other people here it seems, but it’s Halloween and I had to help my kids with some of their trick-or-treating and I needed to go to Home Depot at least once because one of the screw heads were stripped. Could’ve been easier to follow every instruction, daunting, though it was to almost completely disassemble my washing machine lol
Thank you very much. Mine got damaged and the particals of the diaphragm got all of my laundry. Without your video, i won't be able to replace mine. Thx again
Thank you! This video was very thorough and straightforward, saved me time and money. I did use a 7mm socket on a screwdriver handle for the inner ring screw because I couldn’t access it with a Phillips without stripping it.
Thank you so much for such a clear explainer video. I was able to do the work myself in about an hour and saved the hassle of getting a technician over to my house... not to mention the money saved.
My only extra tip is that, if you slide the washer forward just a foot, you can prop up the front with a paint can in the middle and get at the bottom screws that way. Thus I did not have to disconnect the hoses and could work without really moving it very much. Excellent step by step video. My VRTplus (boot# DC97-16140N) was only a little bit different and I could not have done it without this video.
Success!!!!! Thank you so much for this for I was able to replace the lines that was dry rot and the boot was worn. Samsung machine front loader was worth it. It lasted me 7 years before it begun to leak.
This was very helpful and like having an uncle kindly show you how to perform a repair. Part wasn't available from them, but really glad Appliance Parts Pros has videos for installation. Well timed and detail oriented.
I am not handy but I had the tools and as a new homeowner, I need to be. This video was almost absolutely perfect. The only difference in my samsung washer was the screw on the inner seal, aka the metal ring closest to the drum/back, I had to screw counterclockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten. That's what I would have expected, of course, but this video is clear about the need to do precisely the opposite. Not a big deal though, and otherwise, I actually found this really easy. Thank you!
Excellent instructional video. Every step clear and concise. Much appreciated. Only problem I had, was BOTH of the spring loaded wire seals are very rusted, and frozen. Had to get new.
This tutorial is very detailed. That helps very much, except loosing the screw on the ring should be counterclockwise in my case. Thanks for this video, it helped me to complete an impossible work!
Excellent step by step instructions. Fairly easy job for a DIY. I wanted to clean the seal (not replace) so i soaked it overnight in 50-50 bleach water solution. Came out like new. Saved a ton of money. Thank You
Used this to remove and clean my seal. I have a very similar model but keep in mind that the boot seal clamp isn't always clockwise to remove. Mine looks almost the same but removes counter clockwise. You could accidentally break something if you crank it too much and not realize that. Appreciate the vid!
Thanks for this video. I use a wheelchair for mobility and am not able to stand. After watching this video I was able to instruct my young second cousin to do this repair in under 30 minutes.
thank you SO much for this tutorial! My husband and I were able to fix our machine in the course of a single evening. Very thorough instructions! (Also, can anyone place his accent? We were trying to figure out where he's from - Canada + somewhere else?)
Thanks for your instruction. It made the job super simple. Only difference on mine was that the inner boot clamp was NOT a left hand thread. I think they messed it up at the factory and used it anyway.
This video saved me a $$$. Only thing- manufacturer changed the boot seal clamp design on the washer drum to different type than shown in this video. THANK YOU GUYS FOR THIS VIDEO AND FAST PATS SHIPPING!!!!!
Great video! One additional thing to look out for is if the boot is leaking, it will sometimes allow to leak into the front door, which requires you to loosen the bottom door screw under the window to let the water drain out.
Great video! Took me about 1 1/2 hours to do. My inside circle metal gasket ring was slightly different on my Samsung. Instead of the clockwise to loosen it was a different type of clamp and was counter clockwise to loosen.
I should have read the comments. Stripped the screw head turning it counter clockwise like the gentleman instructed. Wow, so close on saving money for a new appliance 😒
Great job on newer Samsung. Very very helpful thanks. Made the job very easy. Boot swapped out no issues all done and washing clothes. Thanks for the quality parts and help.
Fantastic video. But what do I do if my dryer is stacked on top of my washer and both are located in an apartment closet that is too narrow to access the back of the washer, and I'm not strong enough to remove the dryer from on top of the washer?
Was able to do this repair without taking off the front, but it required small hands and tools for tight spaces. THE CLAMP ON SOME MODELS SCREW/UNSCREW REGULARLY -- NOT IN REVERSE. You can tell by checking to see if the clamp is tension based (as in this video) or a plain-old bolt+washer+nut stack. If you end up stripping your screw, you can use a 7mm socket wrench to get it off. Or, hack-saw it off and replace it. Part DC97-14618H.
Thank you so much for this video!! I just did this myself in about 45 mins, 6 months pregnant!
I can't believeable.
Incredibly impressive!
Perfect Instructions. I really don't know how this could be done any better. Whoever edited and managed this presentation is top notch. It took me a little longer because my washer is over 10 years old and the bottom screws were rusted. Thanks very much.
Glad you were able to complete your repair. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
I love this guy!
“Pay attention now.”
“Check your work.”
So methodical with nothing extra.
Tremendous help, thanks!
Five years later and this is still an immensely helpful and detailed guide. Thank you so much for this!
You're welcome!

Just want to give my gratitude to the guy in this video. Would've never figured out how to do it without seeing this. Thanks.
The video saved me from hiring a professional. It was extremely helpful
Thanks a lot! Your video just extended my Samsung washer's life for another 5 years.
Thank you for the excellent video. It took me 3 hours to get this done but it was reasonably straightforward. The rotted old seal is gone and the machine is now working nicely with the new seal.
I just did this replacement today because mine was covered in mold. Thank you for the clear video with step by step instructions.
You are welcome! Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.

After 45 minutes and tore up knuckles I found your comment 💀 thanks for saving me my sanity!
This is a quality video. You can hear him clearly and see what he is doing. Excellent job! Helped me so much.

Thanks so much, Samsung has been a nightmare for washing and drying clothes, but this helped me tremendously
You sir are a genius! I just reinstalled the door boot seal. Your video and clarity of instruction were perfect. Thank you so much!
What a great instructor!

just swapped this out, it looks more intimidating. This video was awesome, it took me a little under an hour. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much sir. My replacement came with no instructions. Great guide.

Excellent communication on how to replace the part.
This video is extremely accurate and thorough. It helped me change the seal like a charm. Thank you so much AppliancePartsPros!
This was so helpful, and spot on. I was able to make the same repair with the help of a buddy. Thank you so much!!!!
took about two hours... all user error! thanks so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you for this video! My outer clamp broke and your technique for installing it (11:57) worked perfectly!
Extremely helpful! I just finished replacing my boot. Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you! Super clear and easy to follow. Saved me lots of time and money!

Thank you so much for this video. It was extremely helpful in performing the replacement of the boot seal in my washer.
You are welcome!
Thank you!!!! This video just saved me about $300 From what a professional appliance repairman had quoted me!
Thanks for your instruction. It made the job super simple. Only difference on mine was that the inner boot clamp was NOT a left hand thread. I think they messed it up at the factory and used it anyway.
Thank you for this video. Such detail!! Made doing this at home possible without having to make a service call 🙂
This video saved me a $$$. Only thing- manufacturer changed the boot seal clamp design on the washer drum to different type than shown in this video. THANK YOU GUYS FOR THIS VIDEO AND FAST PATS SHIPPING!!!!!
Thankful for this great tutorial.
Wasn't exact model but walked me through this like cake! Thanks for the video. Super easy don't stress over the clamps
Great video! One additional thing to look out for is if the boot is leaking, it will sometimes allow to leak into the front door, which requires you to loosen the bottom door screw under the window to let the water drain out.
Amazing tutorial! Perfect explanation
Thank you! Good luck with your repair and let us know how it goes!
What an incredible video. Thank you. Y'all saved the day.
You are welcome. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Thank you! Just replaced ours 🙌
Great instructions. Worked perfectly.
Great video! Took me about 1 1/2 hours to do. My inside circle metal gasket ring was slightly different on my Samsung. Instead of the clockwise to loosen it was a different type of clamp and was counter clockwise to loosen.
Perfect instructions. Thank you.
You are welcome. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Excellent video! Made this job very easy.
Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Great video. I only had to unscrew the wire holding the seal counterclockwise instead of clockwise. I struggled tying it by mistake.
Same here
I should have read the comments. Stripped the screw head turning it counter clockwise like the gentleman instructed. Wow, so close on saving money for a new appliance 😒
Thank you for this!! Very easy to follow. Saved me a ton of money!
