      Yes, this feature will make sure that a thief doing a replay attack on the car, will not be able to actually drive it away, even if they fool the car into thinking your phone is present and unlocking the car.

    Good info, as always, thanks!
    I have been searching for hours in my brand new Model Y ( I have it for two weeks now.. Awesome car!) how to set the range to percentage instead of Km (I am in the Netherlands). Now I know! Voice commands I use all the time, its so easy! Model Y understands Dutch very well LOL!
    To move the nummeric pad to enter the PIN is clever.. I think I will set PIN to drive as well.
    Btw, my Model Y does not have these orange tags in the frunk, probably a US requirement to have this, but good to know where the emergency responders can cut the high voltage safely, I asume in the Model Y it is also in the lower edge of that tiny aft window?

    I love these updates they introduced in the 2021.24 update. And it's yet another awesome thing about Teslas, is that you continue to receive these updates, making them fairly up to date, software wise. While my June 2020 build Model Y won't have a heated steering wheel, I do like that it can still get most other updates, such as the battery/mile one, or the car wash one.

    I recently learned if you hold down the car icon at the bottom left of the screen, it takes a screenshot that is sent to developers or something. For example if you get error or warning messages on the screen, you can take a screenshot and it goes to them. It also advises you to make a service appointment if there's an issue.

    Voice commands are great, but I never have figured out why you can't turn on the fog lights with a voice command. When I get in fog conditions I don't want to take my hands off the wheel and look at the screen to turn on fog lights. It seems so logical and I have done the reporting to Tesla to add this feature, but still no command. Why do their software team waste time with fun little commands when something that helps with safety they don't implement.

    • @ihurtyourbrain3685

    With standard (non premium) connectivity you don't get to see the traffic info on maps, however when you route, the navigation system uses traffic info to route you (even if you can't see that information on the map)
    At least it's like that in the UK. I assume it's the same in the US.

    Thanks for the list of commands, good stuff here! One thing to point out regarding mobile hotspots, Tesla charges a little over $10 per month for a cellular connection with live map updates and music/video streaming. Not all phones come with personal hotspot enabled for free. My iPhone through AT&T does not have it, and I would have to upgrade my account (pay more money per month) to add personal hotspot. So you could be paying twice if you have Tesla connectivity and also Hotspot from your carrier. I wish Tesla would allow you to use your Tesla cellular connectivity as a hotspot in the car for things like kid's ipads. Thanks again for the great video, the Tesla community appreciates your work!

    • @igeekone
      @igeekone 2 роки тому +1

      Also, phone hotspot plans are not unlimited. They're like 15 or 30 GB per month and get throttled around 600kbps when you go over. I think the $10 per month for premium connectivity is worth it for the seamlessness and unlimited video streaming.

    • @JohnDoe-bd5sz
      @JohnDoe-bd5sz Рік тому

      @@igeekone In the country i live in, the price is $14 a month and i can get a dedicated simcard with 60 Gbyte data for $10
      Also there is no option for a cheaper subscription if i pay for a year.
      Am considering just buying one of these cards, sticking it in a small USB dongle that does LTE to Wifi and putting this in the glove box.
      If i can do with 20Gbyte i can get a card for only $7 which is half price compared to Tesla's offer.
      Advantage of this option is, that i can also let the kids use the wifi hotspot for netflix or youtube on their tablets.
      All in all, the tesla offering is quite poor...Double the price, no wifi hotspot...

    Any ideas what to do if your boot ( sorry US trunk!) is shown on the screen as open but is in fact shut?
    Apparently press the "Power Off" button, and leave the car for ten minutes. It may be that the lock device is worn/ broken, but providing the boot has clicked shut , it is safe to drive, just worrying, looking at the screen! Also the alarm ping rings for about 3 mins to warn you, then get tired and shuts up!

Take a credit card ( not your best ones,or any plastic points card, or old card kept for this purpose ( just in case you damage it!)) and insert it in the small closure gap of the locked charge port. Press "unlock charge port" again on the screen, and hey presto! it opens and you card ( or key ring with cards, falls to the floor!. Open sesame!
