    I sent this to my wife who has a M3 and hates the changes from the update. Your video helped us both. Another great thing about Tesla is how we all try to help one another. Thx

      Oh good!!!!! That makes me so happy! I’m here for the ladies, to break it down in ways we can understand 😂 yes, I agree 💯 even in all my videos people will teach me things in the comments or teach each other. I absolutely love everything about the TESLA community. If only the rest of the world helped each other as much as we do:)

    Sara: You have risen to be my "Tesla teacher". I haven't found anyone else who's unleashed so many pointers on our latest update. Since Tesla doesn't have a dept of Education (yet), you
    do admirable job! Thanks to Jasper... and others for discovering more features...

    Really great and useful video Sara. Spent most of my trip earlier trying out some of the tips you gave in this video. Admittedly voice commands for seat heaters didn't work to well with a British accent much to the amusement of my wife 🙂 Keep up the fab work!

    These were great in-depth tips. I haven't seen anyone do them so concise. I'm an IT guy and when we're trying to instruct employees I do this. I go through the process myself and document the steps. In my case I take screenshots along the way as if I'm putting together a user manual. Video instructions like yours will be a big help as a potential new Tesla owner. I'll certainly refer back to them in June when I take delivery. Thanks...!!

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you so so much! I figured out over 90% of this stuff on my own by trial and error. I don’t watch other peoples videos hardly ever. And the user manual wasn’t updated yet. So I really appreciate you noticing. And that is EXACTLY how I do it too! Pictures step by step and notes! Then video! I do it at work to for surgery. This is an actual self made user manual. And it was a lot of work and a lot of mistakes to figure it out! 💚

  • @lucidf8

    Sweet, thanks for the update! I love getting the chance to see the menus to get a preview of what I will see on my delivery day (getting closer, maybe March!). I keep having to fix things on my 2009 Murano, (replaced the A/C compressor, a 12 v battery, now an alternator) and I keep thinking “Gaaa, I could have bought neat accessories for my new Model Y instead!” At least my Subaru still works, so I’m keeping that one forever. I’m hoping the Model Y will go 10 years without any major repairs. Thanks for showing the details and minor upkeep issues, it’s really helpful. When delivery day gets down to “weeks away”, I’m going to get that giddy feeling I used to get as a kid waiting for Chrismas! Actually, this IS my Christmas present, but it’s a few months late. Thanks, Sara, for all your videos!

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 роки тому

      Rick, you have NO IDEA how much I truly appreciate this comment! I just started this channel a year ago so I’m still super new. It’s actually very hard to get UA-cam to suggest your videos even if you sort of know what you need to do to help the algorithm. That UA-cam algorithm is harsh 😂 and very very picky. But no hard feelings, it’s only a software. But yes, subscribing and liking definitely helps, so thank you so very much for your support. Have a wonderful week and welcome to the channel!!!

      Thank you, I really appreciate that. It took me a long time to figure everything out and put it together. The hardest thing was the tire pressure. I actually figured everything out myself aside from the two voice commands the Johns told me about. No cheating 😂 even the user manual wasn’t updated yet. But I’m really glad that so many people are learning stuff from this video. I wasn’t sure if everyone had figured this stuff out yet or not it took me so long to get the video done and edited. Have a great weekend!

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 роки тому

      Oh my gosh, I’m so happy I was able to help you get used to it!!!! I mean I love 90% of the update. But this was a hard video to make for sure. Trying to figure everything out on my own. The only things I learned from someone else were the two voice commands from the two different Johns. The rest took me about 2 weeks to figure it all out. So I understand. Then the tire pressure I didn’t get it figured out 100 until the night was editing and realized I did it wrong the first 3 times. Sigh. It was a huge update and the user manual was not updated with it. But we made it, Patti! And overall, I am in love and I hope you can enjoy it a lot more now. I didn’t even cover half the stuff! Just the things that people specifically asked me about that they couldn’t figure out. Insane! Thanks for your support! Have a great week!

      Haha! You know, after I made this channel I wished that I did name it TESLA for Dummies! I loved those books back in the day. Still have one! But then I was like well some people might get turned off by that title or maybe copyright might be a problem.. but basically that’s my idea for the channel. Great review. I have found my best way to change fan speed with VC is using the words "set" and "at". For example "set fan speed at seven". With different vernacular, I'd get all sorts of speeds.

    I can't believe I watched from start to finish. Thank you for making this video. I ordered my 2022 Model 3 Performance last Monday and it said I had 3 months to wait and then this morning it says June 6th to July 4th. I was told it's because I bought the Red exterior with the White interior plus the Performance model that my production was going to move fast versus the other models that people have to wait for until 2023. I would have just bought the original car I really wanted and that was a new BMW M3 Competition but this thing is $35,000 cheaper, a hair faster and I don't have to spend $7.00 + per gallon here in Southern California. Anyway, you made the video so smooth for me anyway and I like your tone, your pitch/delivery of what could be done and your experiences. Though I am a few weeks away from getting my new ride, I have drowned myself in Tesla videos and out of the 10 or so videos I have watched, you by far are the best. You obviously exemplify professionalism in every sense of the word. ~DC

I just purchased a new 2022 Model X and couldn’t wait to get on the 101 and start using the cruise control and lane change feature but the lane change didn’t work. Nice tutorial. I was unaware of "save that". I have a tip for you. I had to reset my cellphone (reset cell provider, wifi and Bluetooth). While the phone continued to worked as a key to get into the car, Bluetooth was no longer connected for phone calls, messages, contacts etc. I had to go into the Bluetooth settings and "forget" my phone (even doing this, the phone continues to work as a key). I then added it back as a new Bluetooth device. That worked. Kind of an obscure tip, but one that will drive one crazy if you have this problem.

Whilst this gave me some insight, and I was concentrating, I couldnt help but notice how much you show that massive diamond ring in the way of the tablet. I say this because you use your left hand to point to the screen not your right which surely must be less comfortable? Glad you like it, lol. Thank you, Scott!!! And yes, that’s very good advice on the auto-focus. Unfortunately, I use my iPhone to film… and it doesn’t have the option to turn autofocus off. Ugh. I’ve tried real video cameras, but to be honest I returned them because it’s just so easy and a lot less time consuming to record with my phone and airdrop the videos to my MacBook. hey Sara, 1st time found u this week after my new 2021 TESLA S "Refresh" just got here and wanted to say how much I LUV your video's. They are not only well spoken, well-done they are also SUPER INFORMATIVE !
    One quick question? I mainly use my PHONE as a key but when I walk up to my car it "mostly' does not present door handles even though I have that setting turned on ? I did try your excellent Re-Boot suggestions but still, when I walk up my phone's usually in my back pocket and I have to bring it out, then touch the door handles, then open my door. (Especially embarrassing when showing off my new car. Anyway, any suggestions ? please let me know

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 роки тому

      Ahhhhh! CONGRATULATIONS, Gary!!!!!!! Welcome to the TESLA family! So jealous of your model S!!!! Also, thank you so so much for the support! Okay, yes I feel your pain. I don’t know why but when I walk up to my car with my phone in my back pocket it does the same thing! I have to give myself the reach around and push on a volume button or something sometimes to kind of wake the phone up.. then wait about 1 full second after turning my butt toward the door and it will open. I’m not 💯 why this happens but here are some tips. #1 NEVER close the TESLA app in your phone. You know how you have tons of tabs open and periodically you close them all to save battery.. never close the Tesla one. If you do, open it immediately. #2 when showing off the car to people first wake up your phone right before walking over to the car because your phone may be asleep. #3 when walking up to your car showing the no phone no key trick, do a slow spin like me close to the car where your butt is facing the car for a few seconds.. it’s weird how we can control the car from other states but the Bluetooth signal doesn’t want to go through our butts to get to the car 🤷‍♀️ #4 take your phone out of your pocket and hold it while walking up to the car with the people don’t have the app up on the screen but show them the phone is on but just on the Home Screen and be like I’m not control the car it’s just detecting my phone.. this is trick that you aren’t manually unlocking it BUT it allows the signal to unlock the car easier because your phone is out and on and awake and sending that Bluetooth signal no problem. Hope this helps!!! I’ve made a fool of myself many times! 😂 keep me posted if this works for you! Sorry for any typos!

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 роки тому

      With the butt thing, it unlocks my car fine when it’s in my purse on my shoulder, but every time it’s in my back pocket and I approach the car (never turning my back toward the car) it never works. You can also try it in your front pocket and see if that helps too because it helps me.

      Yeah, I edit with my earbuds in. I think the pro is it’s fine for me, but when people are listening and commercials come on, the commercials are way lifer at the same level of volume. I’ve been working on it. Sometimes I forget to turn my audio up higher than what it actually records at. But thank you!

    Another informative and entertaining video! I assumed the car would automatically reboot after installing an update like our phones do but I guess it doesn’t? I always enjoy your “corrective” captions…and nice slippers!😜

      And it does power off after 15 minutes of being in park too. I’m not sure of the exact difference between it turning itself off on its own, and us power cycling it.

    Thank you for all this great info. I have a question. You pictured the supercharger map app. I am brand new to owning a Tesla. I am not seeing on my navigation the supercharger stations. Am I not doing something to add that to my trip plan or do I need the app I saw on your video? What do you advise?

    • @SaraJAwesome

      Sure. So on your Tesla screen if you pay the $10 a month for premium connectivity there are some little symbols/icons in a grey box to click on the actual map. If you click on the little lightning bolt symbol on the map it will show all the superchargers all over the world. But if you don’t pay for premium connectivity you may need to type in the word superchargers into the map navigation bar. Then that will show the superchargers and you can zoom out to see them all on the map. Now on your phone, there are a few third party apps I recommend for seeing super chargers as well as other charges you can possibly use with an adapter. They the ABRP A Better Route Planner, PlugShare, and the Volta App. I haven’t actually had to use them, but they are all fantastic if you need to see where chargers are on your phone. You can also just go to google or Apple Maps and type in Tesla superchargers. Let me know if you have any questions and if this helps;)
