I would leave the stuff on the protoboard: it is what the protoboard is intended for, it is working (as you demonstrated), and it is part of the unique history if this computer.

The intro joke was really good! Liked and subscribed!

We used a similar prototype board back in my university in the early 80s (maybe it was the same, I can't remember), which we used to develop a Cardiac Monitor system for our graduation thesis. We also used the Intellec Series II computer. Bring me back memories!

    Interesting project board.
My choice would be to strip it back so it can be used for its original purpose, it would just be an annoyance if you had to strip the board before beginning a new project.

Thanks for making this. Love the joke at the beginning.

Unless you plan on doing your own prototyping, leave the modifications. That's what the board was meant for. This is a museum piece and in a museum a viewer gets more out of the board seeing the extra hardware. I am pretty sure we used these boards in school.

Well, this is just a suggestion, but I would try building a deeper lower half for the box so the board would fit.

I had a similar model back in the day.
I vote for removing the add-ons and make your own.

Leave it on and try to figure out what it was used for !

Not sure what the point is of removing the components in the prototyping area, unless you want to do some circuit design of your own. Returning it to "original condition" has no other real benefits. The prototyping are was mean to be used, so deliberately not making use of it seems to go against the original intent of the board.

If you are going to use it to do something useful then clean it up. Otherwise there's no point messing with it... leave it as-is, stick it on your shelf with the rest of your stuff and move on to the next project.
