I remember playing 8-ball in my hometown arcade (a small room off the side of the pool hall) back when I was in high school.
Thanks for reminding me of those memories!

Those Tadiran lithium thionyl chloride batteries are very high quality. The lifetime is basically limited by the self discharge rate in this application , which is very low (< 1% per year). No reason at all to replace them when the terminal voltage is good. I have never seen one leak, and I have seen dozens of them across many HP and Tek instruments.

You are very dedicated (or maybe a bit neurotic) to change a perfectly functioning part of the machine that no one will ever see so that it will look original. Even if not quite as dedicated as the 263 people who watched you do it...

You did a great repair job on the wiring !! I'm curious where you purchase your tools and parts from.

I used to buy everything from local electronics stores. but they all closed. Parts come from Mouser and Digikey. For tools I do a web search and take my chances, even though I have most of the tools I'll ever need already.

ATTIE, do you know why arcade pcb boards used chicklet capacitor, why chicklet for what reasons? When using switching power supplies in arcade games it will corrupt the NVRAM data during start-ups any reasons why?
