Yeahhh it’s kind of annoying...also, depending on your state, dealers don’t even budge on discounts. And sell at MSRP. Dealers in Utah have Tacoma’s sold even before the truck reaches the lot.
I’ve not bought a car from the dealer yet, I heard that you can bargain at the dealership to lower the msrp you just have get out of your comfort zone and try to get the price down. One of our friends who bought car recently was able have the price brought down instead of buying it full price at least. Anyone else can confirmed this? This was in California FYI
If you're not lazy about buying your Tacoma, you can still find a deal, but not in your crowded metropolis where the shortages are evident. I just flew 800 miles from Orange County, CA to a rural dealer to pick up my 2021 4x4 TRD Offroad. With taxes and fees I paid the sticker price out the door. That computes to 10% below MSRP for the truck alone, and about $3,000 less than any deal I was offered in busy SoCal. After paying $500 for my flight ticket and gas to drive home, I saved $2,500 and had a nice drive home exploring parts of the country I've not seen before. And to top it off, my loan's APR is 2.29% for 60 mo, compared to 2.9% offered in OC. Seriously, why would you not want to save money and enjoy a nice drive to break in your vehicle?
Thank you for being very transparent with the purchase price. I’m a finance nerd and always appreciate seeing the real numbers. The car market these days have gone nuts and it’s tough to find a good deal for high demand vehicles. We had a good deal with my dad’s Tacoma earlier in the year, but nobody was willing to budge from MSRP with our recent shopping for my sister’s Mazda3.
Bought my 2019 TRD O/F 4x4 for $35k through Carmax at 9% for 5 years. Next day, went to Mission Federal for a loan and got approved for 3.6% for 5 years and they sent a check directly to Carmax and basically said, “screw your 9%.”
I think I got super lucky. I got mine in April 2020 right when the pandemic started. I paid 32k out the door with no sales tax because I lived in NH with less than 3% interest because I was like a 760 credit score.
I looked at a Tacoma TRD Pro a few weeks ago. The sticker had an extra $5,000 tacked on for "local market adjustment." I laughed at that, climbed back into my faithful old 4Runner and went home.

Dude same! Every year I think about getting a new Tacoma either the pro or the off-road. And every year the 40k base price turns me away and back to my old 4Runner. 2001 with 160k miles. I just finished paying off my 2017 Camaro SS 1LE. And I’m tired of these monthly bills. It’s a nice breather having these cars paid off. But have this old 4Runner for so long I really want a new truck
Yeah dude pre COVID was the best time to buy a Tacoma. I pay out the door with tax and all the fee 37000 for trd off road rwd in CA. Was taking another guy he brought 4x4 trd off for 38000 out the door.
My 2022 Tacoma base SR built in Mexico on January 28th, delivered 2-14, brought home 2-16 and already paid first payment. Total out the door before down payment $29965 after ttl. Only had to finance $23965. Another buyer at the dealer the other night got a new Tundra for $64,800 and put $2,000 down...I can't imagine what his payments are..lol
Thanks for your transparency. Gives us an idea of us normal hard working people of what the process is because me also would go with the 7 years living in California you work to pay bills only
This is exactly what I was looking for on UA-cam!! Monthly pricing and loan rates. I know its different for everyone because of credit scores and such but this video gave me a better understanding of what to expect when I decide to get my Tacoma in 3 yrs. hopefully they’ll be more room for negotiation when the time comes. And vehicles shouldn’t be marked up since they are slowly starting production again. Thanks for this great video!!
Great video! I feel I should also share my experience of purchasing my Tacoma to help anyone thinking of buying one in the future. I bought mine a week ago from San Antonio, TX and this is the deal I could negotiate: 2021 TRD Sport 4X2 Double Cab (Cement) Sticker Price: 38,975 Final Sales Price: 32,800 Trade-in equity: 12,260 Otd price: 22000 Monthly payment: $393 for 60 months Hope this helps!
Just leased a 2021 Tacoma SR5 4x4 for 462.00 with 0 down. I prefer to lease myself. I couldn’t find the TRD off road in time for what I needed the truck for. Great video! Thanks for sharing and being so transparent.
That's what happens when your government just prints money. There never used to be a 6&7 year loans for a vehicles. I paid 22,505 for my 2002 Doublecab prerunner trd which I still drive. Thanks for the info though.
I had mine ordered this Saturday and have to wait 6-8 weeks. The only Offroads within 100 miles (Maine) had had like 6k packages in them. I negotiated 2.5k off MSRP If you are reading this, don't forget you can custom order one from most large Toyota dealerships with nothing more than a $500 deposit. Most dealerships will be more than happy to do this because if you back out, they will still be able to sell it super quick and they will net 500 bucks.
That Tacoma shortage is bull***** the assembly lines are still working, due to most Tacoma’s being assembled in Mexico I know that’s a lie. The factories in Mexico only stopped working for a month I know this because I live very close to the Tijuana one
I love that play card just because the shortage happens as long as the demand isnt their they can still sell cheap. Thats why competition is good more to pick if its to much.
I should have the Mexican reporter do a story to show how the factories are normal yet the Toyota sales is manipulated the market to squeeze every $ out of COVID pandemic to make there pockets big while they collect PPPLOANS and profit 3 times more then anyone else #LATIMES
Interesting difference between states, and pricing. I too had to wait for the truck I wanted due to covid. Here in the midwest discounts are definitely better than CA. My brother who lives there may come back here to buy one. Thanks for the honest review. Congrats on your new truck!
@@andiegomes2764 Good question!! I have six Toyota dealerships in my area " KC " and they all usually have big stock in a Tacoma's.. different world we live in now, glad I was fortunate to get mine when I did.
I work for Toyota and if you knew what it cost to make you would realise your being robbed 3 times over. People can't keep paying this crazy price it's just unsustainable.
I bought a 2020 4 runner venture in CA. With some add ons and financing 55K. Was trying to purchase a Jeep SRT but no one wanted to negotiate. This hands down is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
i bought a 2016 ram with a 7yr loan. after the first year i started paying an extra $100 and now it will be paid off in 3 more payments. i saved 18 months of payments. i highly recommend making higher payments if possible.
I paid $43k cash out the door last year for my highest spec’d(leather, all tech packages) 2019 4x4 TRD OffRoad w/ 8k miles. I could only negotiate $1k off the OTD price unfortunately due to the pandemic, as there were maybe 3-4 available here in Phoenix at any given time. Just no leverage to negotiate in such a high demand/low supply market. Of course lowest price is best but I was totally satisfied as it already had full ceramic tint, predator side steps, Bakflip trifold tonneau cover, hitch/ball, etc. Great truck, unbeatable resale value. Only sticking point was no Apple CarPlay in a 2019 vehicle when it was available in other Toyotas and nearly all other makes even w/ much lower MSRP.
Brand new 2019 Tacoma trd pro voodoo blue with a desert air intake. 44k OTD, clearly no one wanted the snorkel so this thing sat. Dealer wanted it out, so works for me.
Thanks for the video! My father got the exact same truck with the same specs just a different color and it came with the black emblems, black exhaust tip, and mud flaps as well. They also didn’t pay the mark up, but So-Cal dealer budged and they got the 5 year loan for 1.99%. Loved how accurate this video was.
I bought the same exact truck 6 weeks ago in Pennsylvania, I had to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive at the dealership, They had none on the dealers lot, I paid 41,500 for it, with taxes and fees the drive off the lot price was 44,500 dollars. Still I am glad that I have it now, Three days after I picked it up Toyota and Volkswagen both announced they would be cutting production by 40 % for various reasons.
I bought a 2010 Tacoma Access Cab with 200K miles that had a brand new frame/suspension/ac compressor put in for a total 7900$ It has been holding on strong so far!
I purchased a 2021 Tacoma DCLB with Tech Package, All Season Floor mat, and a black 5" oval side step with MSRP around 40600 on 10/29/2020. Dealer offer to sell for a little bit less than 38000 + TTL, came out to be around 42600 OTD.
Cash for everything. That’s it. People say I’m nuts, but i am a multi millionaire and I drive a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. I also live in a very modest house. Buying a 44k truck, I think you should be making 250k plus a year to justify such a purchase.
It was a good deal for a brand new one. Wasn't bad at all but thanks for sharing your info to us. It helps me look more into it. Hope to see your videos with full reviewing and test drive.
Thanks for the vid. Hope you enjoy the new truck and it brings many years of reliability. I bought my 2020 last June and absolutely love it. I was lucky to get in during a 0% APR deal for financing. Lol, don’t worry, you’ll soon sink in much more money modding it out the way you want it. So many mods for Tacomas... infinite amount of upgrades to put on the truck.
I leased a 2020 Tacoma TRD off road 6 speed manual right in march, at height/beginning of COVID (dealerships were desperate). Had $1800 trade in credit, paying $227 a month for 39 month lease. Than have option to buy for 25K off lease. So total cost to buy with lease is $38500 if I choose to buy it off lease (that figure includes anticipated interest on loan to purchase). I thought that was a pretty sweet deal.
Problem with long loan periods such as 7 years is that everyone says they’ll pay it off before hand but most do not and you end up paying more for the car in interest. You do get the flexibility of lower payments if you lose your job to ease the burden, but you have to be ok knowing you may owe more in the end if you don’t pay it off early.
I bought a 21 double cab TRD sport 4x4 w/ 5ft bed. Didn’t pay any markup and managed to get out the door, w/sales tax for 40k. Dealer didn’t really want to deal but didn’t try to jam me with stuff I didn’t want. I’m not unhappy with my deal as I wanted a new tacoma
That’s why you buy out of state. In CO got over $2k below (considering the dealer fee of 500-600 they all seem to add here). Spent about the same for a whole lot more features like LED headlights and tonneau cover then paid less taxes but you can’t avoid those
2018 Trd offroad, cement, premium package with predator tube step. for 41k OTD... wisconsin. Just got done paying it off last week finally!!! Here comes the mods!!!
Man, I was prepared for the dealership and it was still an eye opening experience. My 2018 TRD offroad in a manual was stickered at 37, 000. After negotiating, I was able to get it down to 33,000 but then i added a camper shell which bumped it to 36,000. Needless to say, they were not happy about that amount which i held them to through the negotiations. Their hail mary was to send me the incorrect bill of sale 2 times a day for 3 days straight. I never relented and told them to stick to the agreed price. They tried tacking on fees and everything. You have to be willing to stick it out thru the game and be patient.
@@kyleschemenauer5631 nope. "Out the door" means out the door. Hold them to that. That's a key term to employ. What is your out the door price? 36,000? Ok, I'm holding you to that, taxes and fees and all. That's how they get you. "Oh, well, we meant that was the sticker price, we didn't include Jim Bob's personal tax and this convenience fee..." see what I mean?
Props for being transparent. Hopefully this video will be seen by other people as what NOT to do, not for justification to do it too. Using other people's money is only good if it's an investment that goes UP! Instead of using leverage to boost your financial position, you willing placed yourself in a financial prison for 7 years. Now the best "investment" you can make is paying down your debt as fast as possible so you don't end up paying over $50,000 (plus whatever your down payment and/or trade-in was) for a V6 truck built in Mexico.
In California they charge and arm and leg for trucks compared to most other states. For the Toyota trucks especially the Tundra/Tacoma TRD Pros expect an additional dealer markup of 5-10k. So 60-65K for these trucks is common.
Just picked up the exact same truck yesterday but with the tube steps.. everything identical to yours. My all in price was right about 44k but I went with the Costco membership program... I paid extra for the 10 year 125k bumper to bumper and because of Costco it came with a zero dollar deductible. He’s telling the truth, I’ve been sitting on the sidelines watching for a full year and trying to make deals with several dealerships... same story at each.. “we are not dealing or negotiating and there is a shortage “ I put 35k down so my payment and interest rate is very low
Looks like you got taken to the cleaners and the sales guy made a nice commission. Also, it's clear that you bought a vehicle that was actually well beyond your means.
I would have walked away. Any dealer asking more then msrp is gonna never get my business. I walked away 1 time before when a dealer wanted more then msrp. Trucks are way over priced to begin with. Lots of other truck makers out there. But you did what u felt u had to do to get ur truck. Hope it last a long time with no problems.
You were lucky to get that 6ft bed on an Off-road and not pay that $3,000 markup. I live in Cali too... the dealer refused to negotiate or take off the $3k on the same TRD 6ft model. Said they knew they would sell it with the markup, and didn’t care. I ended up with 2021 Limited Nightshade loaded with options. Negotiated price down a bit and received another $1,000 in incentives. I did the 5yrs @ 1.90% Then I installed the TRD performance exhaust, TRD skid plate, TRD shift knob, S&B Cold Air intake, and Predator rails myself. I will add custom tires, shocks and springs much later down the road.
I bought a brand new Tacoma in 2017. I have a Standard 6-Spd TRD Off-Road. Very Similar Amenities otherwise and the price back then per sticker was $34,893. Similar on fees and taxes. (Toyota Escondido) If the interest rates are super low (which they are) then I don’t fault the 84 month payments but I opted for 60 months at 1.9%. I actually just paid off the Tacoma at 42,832 miles. It has been a terrific truck. I hope your Tacoma treats you just as well. Good Video Man 🤙🏼
You're lucky. My trd offroad longed full cab msrp is 46k before taxes and license fees. Being built on the 18th. It has leather seats, leds, tech package upgrade, mud guards, and tube step. The only reason I'm going through with it is because I have 45k to out down after I sold my $28k wrx for $32k with 35k miles in it. And u can always sell the tacoma if I want. I shopped around at 8 dealers and went through Costco auto program too. This was the cheapest I could get this package and it is what it is.
I have a 2007 Taco TRD Off Road (2WD) with 170,000 miles. Only repair I have ever done is front wheel bearings and drive shaft U joint. It's still runs great. Thought about getting a new one. But dam 600-700$ payment. I will just keep what I have.
California dealership markup is insane. I went to a dealership in LA charging 15k extra for a TRD pro 4Runner and they said they “only charge that much over because they are a volume dealership.” I contacted a smaller dealership out of town who is selling below MSRP and shipping the vehicle to me. 84 month is definitely not a bad idea for DTI but you’ll feel a lot better paying it off sooner 😂 the rate gap I saw between 72 and 84 wasn’t as high; I usually recommend credit unions, Bank of America, or US Bank after working in the industry. Congrats on the new whip it looks awesome!
Your decision really makes sense. Better to have extra money in the pocket than be tied up on a car payment that we know the car will just depreciate overtime.
Another option is used. In July of 2020 I bought a 2019 Limited with 7000 miles. It had been in service for 1 year and 3 months. $35,486, something like $8000 below orignal sticker.
The only discount dealership allows is the Costco auto program discount. I just bought my 2021 TRD off road 6 ft bed. I got $1200 Costco discount. Plus $500 Toyota rebate and $500 college grad rebate.
I'm not sure if you or another viewer commented on this but I purchased a new 2018 Toyota Tundra Limited CrewMax and this is how I did it...I reached out to all the local dealerships and asked them to get pricing on a Tundra with exact specs (THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!). Every dealership reached out with a price. From here I used the lowest price and asked the dealers to beat it. This went on for several days but I was able to get my brand new Tundra for $44k (MSRP: $50k). Keep in mind, this was in December the best time to purchase a new car! Hope this helps...
In November of 2019, I leased a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road (short bed) with the same features and after all the extra fees: destination, license, registration tax etc it was $39k. So you really didn’t do to badly considering yours was a long bed.
I just got my 2021 sport 4x4 with the XP package for 38k otd, and a "lifetime" power train warranty. I went to every dealer in my town (5 of them) and this one was the best deal I could find
I got a 21 trd off-road 4x4 for 40k otd but I carried 4K of negative equity on my truck and some say the dealer was still being generous with my trade in.
The XP stands for the maverik or predator? It's all about exterior equipment. This price probably didn't include the Technology Package +, right ? Even without that, it is a great price. I paid $39,5 for my 4x4 TRD Sport DCSB - with the tech package, just a month ago, then added the clear bra, added the Clazzio leather seat covers, and ordered my truck bed camper shell (leer 100R with rack). It gets expensive. I still want the side step-bars.
Lol I got the same car model and everything. I’m pay out of the door was 38400 with 2.6 APR . What are you talking about? Your video make me so proud of myself.
Thanks for sharing this information it was helpful, I have done 3 to 5 year loans but refinance to a linger term once I am ahead of depreciation mostly I pick the term before a large apr jump
Gary is right i was shopping this week for a Tacoma and all four dealerships that i visited had their trucks marked up about $4,000 and would not negotiate , they did add a couple of extras like remote power door lock for the tailgate, tint on the driver and passenger windows, and door edge guards probably a $200 value , i can't see how they can justify the $4,000. well you can imagine what i told them, if you can't i will tell you i said take a jar of Vick's and you know what you can do with that truck!
I do that too, get the lowest possible payment but have the goal to pay it off faster. I do this to I have a low max obligation for just in case something comes up that puts me under a strain. I bought a 2021 TRD Sport 4x4 DC SB just a month ago. The MSRP was the same what yours was only including the total front and mirror clear bra. I also got the technology package, same as yours. But mine is not the OFF ROAD, it's the Sport in Magnetic Gray Metallic. I paid OUT THE DOOR $40,000 (Price was $35,900 plus about 10% for taxes, reg, lic, and doc), so I got about a $4K discount off from MSRP. My negotiation tactic was just make them an offer and then politely left, telling them I totally understand that they can't possibly sell me the car for a loss.... because they claimed they would be at a loss. But what turned them around the following Monday morning was that I had bought 3 cars at that dealership before and they argued to me "OK we are giving you the deal because you bought cars from us before - we are losing, below invoice..." and all those arguments. I then ordered my matching LEER 100R Truck Bed Camper Shell - ETA end of April for $2,500. And I bought myself Clazzio Leather seat covers - already installed. I am still hunting for truck bed organizers, a truck bed rubber mat, and I am considering a side-stepping bar purchase.
I have an 06 trd sport crew cab. With 172 miles on it. Looked into getting a new one. Decided for half the price I can make the 06 into something really nice. Icon suspension/ 35 inch tiers on 17 inch rims/ 4.88 gears( manual 6 speeds, have 18% more torque coming from the transmission. See Kflo on youtube for deet's) with front and rear selectable lockers. I'm also tube bending front and rear bumpers. Swing out Tail gate tire carrier. Rock sliders. And possibly a full exoskeleton right up over the roof. Swapping the 5foot composite box with a flat deck designed for modular uses. I can see this turning into a rock crawling/ prerunner hybrid. I don't want something to baby like I would a new truck. Mad Max from here on out😜
I paid $36,800 + TTL for my 2020 Tacoma trd off-offroad 4x4 dcsb, regular tech, led drl package in cement, no other add-ons. I purchased it in September with the shortage in Texas. Could have done better if there was no shortage. MSRP was $39,465
My 21 TRD Off Road I purchased in July. It did not have any extras except the floor mats, raptor running boards, bed mat and the tailgate Tacoma insert stickers. Sticker was $40,108 after all fees and extras but before tax, which is 7.5% in my county (Ohio). My trade in was a 2015 Ford SD F350 XLT (clear title) which they gave me $35,500 on trade. So my cost was $4,608 plus 7.5% ($345.60) so I owed $4,953.60. I didn't have that much cash on me so I had them finance it for 36 months. I have a credit rating of 825 so my interest was 2.03%. When I got the bank paperwork I paid it off so I paid around $9.00 in interest. So truck cost me $40,462 free and clear.
Man ......I work for toyota dealership for 3 years. And in my 3 years I tried to help people honestly. But management did not want that. They wanted to make as much money as possible. Even on the car I bought! I told the manager straight forward. No way I'm buying this car for that. It can wait. A shortage in Tacoma's? Sounds like bull$hit. It's not a TRD PRO. If you absolutely didn't have to get it. I would have played the waiting game. They will call you back and negotiate. I wish that everybody would just do the same thing. But people are inpatient. There is about a 3 to 4k mark up on that 40k. So 38 would have been fair. I'm buying the 2022 tundra later on. Even possibly used.
That's why I hate car salesman.. their managers talk them into bullshitting customers to make more money. You earn more customers when your good to them. That's why I went back to my car lot twice to buy a car. Losing money is better than losing out on a deal. You can always try again:)
@@tiffanylarcade9275 naw. I've worked at the 2 toyotas near me and they have the same tendencies. Only 5 years of selling and I'm done. I'm going carvana when I buy.
I can’t buy the shortage either. I’m Arizona and looking for one. Just one dealer out of 6 near me has about 20. Ya they only have one pro but plenty of off roads and tons of sports.
Yes another much better way is if you look the deals at the dealership ( sample) sometimes they have the 1.9 IR on any truck , that’s when is a good time to purchase ( you have to financial their the dealership) much better option ( you have to have very good credit score) but you do did a good job!
I bought the same TRD OR LB in Cement in California. We have the same package; my sticker was $40,083 as well. My dealer also had the $4k mark up and I was only able to get them down to $1k above. So you got a better deal than at least this guy
Here in California, I got a 2020 used but clean: TRD OFF-Road 4x4 for $32,799 it had 26k miles on it. I felt stupid for buying it for a while....not so much anymore..
Finally someone is honest about what they paid and yet the comments are still flooded with people lying about what they paid on theirs

It’s demand. You can price a full-size f-150 to 90k. This is what prices are 🤷♂️
The prices are climbing faster than crawl control
My 2022 Tacoma base SR built in Mexico on January 28th, delivered 2-14, brought home 2-16 and already paid first payment. Total out the door before down payment $29965 after ttl. Only had to finance $23965. Another buyer at the dealer the other night got a new Tundra for $64,800 and put $2,000 down...I can't imagine what his payments are..lol
Thanks for your transparency. Gives us an idea of us normal hard working people of what the process is because me also would go with the 7 years living in California you work to pay bills only
You're welcome.
Appreciate the honesty and transparency! Great video!
Thanks for being transparent about your purchase. It definitely opens my eyes to the craziness of truck financing in 2021.
My jaw dropped everytime you kept adding the numbers..... now I need dental insurance.
same!😂
This is exactly what I was looking for on UA-cam!!
You're welcome!
Great video!
I feel I should also share my experience of purchasing my Tacoma to help anyone thinking of buying one in the future.
I bought mine a week ago from San Antonio, TX and this is the deal I could negotiate:
2021 TRD Sport 4X2 Double Cab (Cement)
Sticker Price: 38,975
Final Sales Price: 32,800
Trade-in equity: 12,260
Otd price: 22000
Monthly payment: $393 for 60 months
Hope this helps!
What if I don't have a trade in and I want to pay cash and I want a off road crew cab 4x4 long bed? Brand new 2021
I did the same thing you did, get a long term loan just to be safe but, I paid off the loan in 3yrs!
i did the 6 yr loan on my highlander, paid it all off the 2nd yr
Just leased a 2021 Tacoma SR5 4x4 for 462.00 with 0 down. I prefer to lease myself. I couldn’t find the TRD off road in time for what I needed the truck for. Great video! Thanks for sharing and being so transparent.
That's what happens when your government just prints money. There never used to be a 6&7 year loans for a vehicles. I paid 22,505 for my 2002 Doublecab prerunner trd which I still drive. Thanks for the info though.
Exactly! We are paying in inflated dollars thus all things go up in prices. Also people make terrible financial decisions.
My 2021 TRD Sport totaled to $49k, threw 10K down and will pay $525 a month for the next seven years at 3.2%. Worth it!
I had mine ordered this Saturday and have to wait 6-8 weeks. The only Offroads within 100 miles (Maine) had had like 6k packages in them. I negotiated 2.5k off MSRP
If you are reading this, don't forget you can custom order one from most large Toyota dealerships with nothing more than a $500 deposit. Most dealerships will be more than happy to do this because if you back out, they will still be able to sell it super quick and they will net 500 bucks.
53k OTD. 2020 TRD PRO. When you have it you have it!
They offer me 51 k otd
@FMF5517 Theres alot of variables. Love the truck but I would never tell you it's a good deal.
Thankyou for posting. California sure does get creative with fees "tire fee"
Interesting difference between states, and pricing. I too had to wait for the truck I wanted due to covid. Here in the midwest discounts are definitely better than CA. My brother who lives there may come back here to buy one. Thanks for the honest review. Congrats on your new truck!
What state sells them the most ?
@@andiegomes2764 Good question!! I have six Toyota dealerships in my area " KC " and they all usually have big stock in a Tacoma's.. different world we live in now, glad I was fortunate to get mine when I did.

Thanks for getting right into the numbers! I’m subscribing based off of that aspect alone! Great video!
I’ve been looking in to this all night lol thank you 🙏🏽 this video was very helpful
Bought my TRD off road 4x4 beginning of covid, sticker was 46xxx. Paid 44xxx out the door. Was very happy
I work for Toyota and if you knew what it cost to make you would realise your being robbed 3 times over. People can't keep paying this crazy price it's just unsustainable.
@@patrickodonnell9388 People are idiots and have to have a "new" truck or car. Used is just as good and you save probably 30% on the depreciation hit.
Yes do one for the GTR man!
Then it’s a mortgage not a car loan 😜
Dude, really nice content! Honest, and man it don't get better than that!
I bought a 2020 4 runner venture in CA. With some add ons and financing 55K. Was trying to purchase a Jeep SRT but no one wanted to negotiate. This hands down is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Will last you 2 times longer then that SRT good choice !!
i bought a 2016 ram with a 7yr loan. after the first year i started paying an extra $100 and now it will be paid off in 3 more payments. i saved 18 months of payments. i highly recommend making higher payments if possible.
That is very nice! I've seen them used close to $50k it is insane! I just bought a certified 2018 V6 SR5 4x4 over the weekend for 30k with 30k miles!
i would buy a Tacoma to live in for at least 15 years
Thanks for the video! My father got the exact same truck with the same specs just a different color and it came with the black emblems, black exhaust tip, and mud flaps as well. They also didn’t pay the mark up, but So-Cal dealer budged and they got the 5 year loan for 1.99%. Loved how accurate this video was.
I bought the same exact truck 6 weeks ago in Pennsylvania, I had to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive at the
dealership, They had none on the dealers lot, I paid 41,500 for it, with taxes and fees the drive off the
lot price was 44,500 dollars. Still I am glad that I have it now, Three days after I picked it up Toyota
and Volkswagen both announced they would be cutting production by 40 % for various reasons.
Wow. Close call. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I got mine taco in 2018 at carmax for 37k after taxes. Only had 3000 miles on it. Nice truck man!
Good suggestion about the loan. I've never spent over 20,000 on a vehicle so I can probably afford this thing in 10 years. Yay!
I get the feeling to buy one about once a week but I have to mentally flog myself from doing so :)
Samee dude just can’t help myself but know better then blowing cash like that
It was a good deal for a brand new one.
I am just about to buy a Tacoma, and this video is very informative. Well explained, thank you man.
Can you make a video on why you chose this Tacoma?
Pre tax?
Now the best "investment" you can make is paying down your debt as fast as possible so you don't end up paying over $50,000 (plus whatever your down payment and/or trade-in was) for a V6 truck built in Mexico.
keep up the good work man, love to see fellow taco owners!
Thanks for being honest and congrats on the purchase!
Looks like you got taken to the cleaners and the sales guy made a nice commission. Also, it's clear that you bought a vehicle that was actually well beyond your means.
Paid MSRP for my 2021 tundra trd pro.
Took 2 days to find. Found 3 more while waiting on my deal to workout.
I did the 5yrs @ 1.90%
Then I installed the TRD performance exhaust, TRD skid plate, TRD shift knob, S&B Cold Air intake, and Predator rails myself. I will add custom tires, shocks and springs much later down the road.
Got to shop around. 4500 off sticker on my new 4Runner last week. Use a credit union for car purchases. Did a 60 month @2%.
My Taco Sports Cement
4x2 MSRP $37,581 SoCal Toyota dealership. $36,400 . Paid below the window sticker supply demand Covid.

I bought a brand new Tacoma in 2017. I have a Standard 6-Spd TRD Off-Road. Very Similar Amenities otherwise and the price back then per sticker was $34,893. Similar on fees and taxes. (Toyota Escondido)
If the interest rates are super low (which they are) then I don’t fault the 84 month payments but I opted for 60 months at 1.9%. I actually just paid off the Tacoma at 42,832 miles.
It has been a terrific truck. I hope your Tacoma treats you just as well. Good Video Man 🤙🏼
What was your credit score?
@@dan32196 It is like 470. Super Low. I dunno why anyone would issue me any credit 🤪
Thank you for sharing ! I bought the pro for Msrp $54k
I paid out the door TTL 37200. Granted that was with a trade in of my 2018 Tacoma SR5. 7 years 511 a month.
That looks to be the number for used Tacomas. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, just last week I had the same experience with a local dealer as you. Tacomas we’re going fast and I payed just about the same as you.
I just got my 2021 sport 4x4 with the XP package for 38k otd, and a "lifetime" power train warranty. I went to every dealer in my town (5 of them) and this one was the best deal I could find
Yep, when you shop around, you get better deals. I got mine for $37,000 out the door.

In the Carolina a TRD Off Road Double Cab 6' Bed V6 4WD Automatic sells for about 8% UNDER MSRP and sales tax is limited to $500.
Man I love Tacomas, but they are insanely priced.
Thank you for sharing being honest and transparent ! They way you explained everything in detail was awesome 👏
I did the same with mine and your right the DTI debt to income ratio is somthing that is important
Thanks for sharing this information it was helpful, I have done 3 to 5 year loans but refinance to a linger term once I am ahead of depreciation mostly I pick the term before a large apr jump
My man they took advantage of you with this purchase
Great video man this kind of information is highly glossed over and actually very informative 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks!
Thank you for being transparent! Excellent video and to the point!!!
Mad Max from here on out😜
Thanks for being so straight forward! What do you do for a living?
Good info. I paid $36,500 +TTL for my 2019 Tacoma trd off-road 4x4 dcsb, premium tech, cement
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Best breakdown of buying a car video ever.

Because of all of the scam fees. I bought use Taco. Mine is 2nd gen and I pain 12k upfront done deal. No BS.
Dealers should be hung up for mark ups
