My son has the Gogogo. But he's not a bow hunter and he hunt the Prairies of Alberta Canada with a 7mm Rem mag so angle compensation isn't such a deal breaker. Really helpful video. Thanks
I've been wanting a rangefinder for awhile now for general use at the shooting range (I've never used a rangefinder before for hunting) I had to snag the halo xl450 when I saw it for just under 50 dollars and no tax. Turns out my 100 yard range is actually 184 yards. No wonder why people arnt accurate with my sighted rifles.
I’m sure that if this was my regular use range finder it wouldn’t take long for me to be comfortable with it. It just lands differently than any other range finder I’ve used.
Hey Kyle. Check out my recent 2023 range find comparison. There’s a budget option in that video that is the best budget option I’ve tried. And I’ve tried a bunch.
The Halo XL450’s available now look a little different. The eyepiece has been moved up and looks more like most rangefinders now. I’d like to know how much difference there is between the Halo XL450 (newer version and the XL600). Also I’ve been seeing tons of great reviews for the Wosports 700 yard rangefinder.
I did that when I was first getting started...it works ok, but my steps would not be the same practicing in my yard as they were in the woods stepping over sticks and logs. The rangefinder will be way more consistent, at least that has been my experience. I enjoy having one and using one and would have a hard time going without one now.
I have the muddy lr850 and have been very disappointed with it. It rarely reads the correct distance, usually 10 yards off. Waste of 165 dollars. Wish I would've spent another 40 dollars and got a vortex.
I don’t know...I’m going to guess that none of them are. I’m confident that the gogogo is made in China but I suspect that the rest are as well. At this point I’ve sold most of them and can’t check the manuals.
great video -- can you do a video on how you setup and linked your channel with amazon - just set up my affliate but not sure how to link my channel and set up my channel on amazon , thanks ....
Thank you for your input. I’m limited on range finders I can test by my budget and companies that are willing to send units for testing. The bushnell is still available in eBay and in my opinion is a better value than any of the new ones I have tested to this point.
I tested all these range finders from 35ft up and ranged an object at 17yards. The angle compensation on the bushnell, halo, and muddy all gave me a compensated number of approximately 12 yards while the gogogo read 2 yards. I really am unsure of what the gogogo is calculating. It will read an accurate angle measurement in degrees, BUT clearly is calculating something differently. In hunting range finders it is using the angle to determine the actual horizontal distance from you to the target rather than the line of sight distance.
@@TheBudgetSportsman If you were at 17 yards and the compensated horizontal distance is 12 yards, then you were at an angle of 45.1 degrees. arccos(12/17) The gogogo GS03 range finder is only rated for 45 degree slopes, so you were probably just beyond what it could handle. Alternatively, if it doesn't match the other range finders at more shallow angles, then you got a faulty angle sensor in that unit. I don't think there is any golf angle that would give 2 yards in that scenario. It would be good to know if angle sensors in the gogogo units can be faulty, and its not just a golf vs hunting issue.
It’s disappointing that these range finders are made in communist China instead of the USA. There’s a golden opportunity for US manufacturers because most sportsmen much prefer to buy US made products.
Don't waste your money on any of these. The tidewe f700 $69.00 has everything on there yardage, speed angles auto shutoff small package built-in battery and waterproof carrying case lanyard. Best money I ever spent besides condoms
I have made range finder comparisons for the last 3 years. I included the rider in last years video and also have a dedicated review on my channel. It is my favorite as well.
Very good video. No hunting stories, just honest reviews with the pros and cons. And you give prices.
Stay tuned. I’m going to be posting an updated 2022 range finder comparison in the next week or so.
Excellent video! Informative, fast, and not a waste of time. Two thumbs up.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed.

Haha. That’s funny. $50 is a good deal even if the halo isn’t my favorite range finder.
The gogogo has a hunting specific range finder. Same looks and functions. But made for hunting
Yes indeed. I tried it out in my 2022 range finder video.

I have a bushnell rangefinder I got off amazon years ago not chuck adams but I love it. All I need
I was expecting to be upgrading after this review, but the “better” features came with way too many drawbacks
I have the halo 450xl. When I bring it up to my eye I place the top to my brow and the eye piece lands perfect to my eye
I’m sure that if this was my regular use range finder it wouldn’t take long for me to be comfortable with it. It just lands differently than any other range finder I’ve used.
Lighning fast shipping. Excellent product very pleased
Which one did you buy?
Came here to find out if the Amazon special was usable for a novice or absolute trash. Thanks!

Thanks for that info. I didn’t realize that there was a new version. It’s definitely intriguing.
I like idea of one but I tree stand hunt so you just step off different yardages distance from you and that tree won't change so up in air on it

Did you try the flag pin lock mode? The reviews on amazon says it does angle compensation.
Yes the flag pin lock does angle compensation BUT the numbers do not match any of the other rangefinders.
Halo has fixed the eye position issue on the new xl450
I heard that. I might have to give it a try.
I have the muddy lr850 and have been very disappointed with it. It rarely reads the correct distance, usually 10 yards off. Waste of 165 dollars. Wish I would've spent another 40 dollars and got a vortex.
I’ve heard there is a new version of the 450xl that is supposed to be improved, but I agree that vortex seems to make an awesome product.
I'm just hear for the Sigma b-roll.
😂

Love both your channels. Keep up the good work guys!

My pleasure!
pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Brantley Alan yea, I've been watching on flixzone for since december myself :D
What one would recommend
If you don’t need angle compensation, the Gogogo is nice. Otherwise I would consider looking for something used or try the new version of the Halo
@@TheBudgetSportsman what about the muddy do you think that would be good to get
NO. Did you watch the video?
I just need a rangefinder that's fairly cheap that I can use for bow hunting so that way I know how far the deer is
Thank you.. appreciate info.
No problem. Hope it helps. I am working on a review of a newer version of the halo range finder.

I have a review on my channel. It’s definitely my favorite budget range finder now.
You should only stick to range finders that are still in production

It’s possible that the unit was faulty. It was inaccurate in every situation not just the single example given.

Did you watch the video?? This video is old but I don’t remember having much good to say.
