I finally found a budget range finder that is worth buying.

I just purchased the HR-F700 upon your recommendation on sale from TideWe plus your discount code for $59.86 and got free shipping to boot. Thank you for doing the leg work for me.
That’s a great price. Seems like the price fluctuates but glad to hear you got a good deal.
Just ordered it, the HR F1000 model an hour ago.
Then just happened to run across your vid.
This just confirms my research and purchase. I did good. 😊
Thankyou for the great informative and detailed video! 👍
Awesome. Hope you enjoy it.
Great review! I got the smaller one at Christmas and bought 2 more for my two sons who are also bow hunters. I have zero complaints as well.
Glad to hear your feedback. I’ve tried a bunch of budget range finders and this is the first one that doesn’t have major flaws.
how are they in low light, like hunting in woods with a lot of shade?
No problems that I have found at any light. I don’t think you can beat it for the money.
@@davidbelcher5331 thanks
Researched for a while on a decent budget rangefinder & daw your video last week. Just got my 700e yesterday & heading out for my first bow sit for the next 6 days. Thanks for what you do!
Great video. Thanks man. I bought the 700 and looked everywhere for a video explaining the 3 settings and you did a great job and was much needed due to the manual not doing us justice. I appreciate the tip that you use the angle compensation distance and not line of sight when in tree stand! 👍
Your welcome. The manual really is lacking.
@@TheBudgetSportsmanso on the 700 what readout do we use on the from range finder to the target Do we use?
18% , wow! That’s a great discount! Thanks man. I’ve been looking to replace my old one
Absolutely.
Great review as always. I bought the HR-F700 earlier this year and like it. Was planning to do a review alter this summer.
Have you been enjoying it?
@@TheBudgetSportsman I like the TideWe. I went to do a review video of it compared to the Halo and found that the Halo isn't even working this season- even after a new battery. You will see the Halo in an upcoming video when i shoot it.
I bought a halo for review and was very disappointed. Actually this is the second time.
I just purchased the HD f700 with your code and they have 27% sale. I paid $59 for it. Sweet deal! I'll be looking forward to using it.
That’s an awesome price. It’s great that the cheapest range finder I’ve tested also happens to be the best.
Which range finder would you recommend for someone hunting in Arizona since it's super bright and you mentioned this range finder isn't great in bright conditions new to hunting and really looking for a budget option thank you
I don’t believe tide we even offers the the colored display anymore. Either way I would recommend the hr-f700. It has a black display that will contrast well in bright light, and it’s very affordable. If you need to be able to range longer distances then get the 1000 yard version.
Tidewe now offers a mini version that is very good as well.
Whichever one you get, if you use my code in the video, you can get 18% off
I picked up the HRF-700 and I absolutely love it! Thanks for the recommendation! 🎉
Awesome. Glad you like it. It’s still my favorite budget range finder b
I read a one star review for the 700.
They had it one day and lost it because of the magnetic closure😢 People use the lanyard for goodness sake’s😮.
I have lost a favorite pair of binoculars and even though I knew when and where I was not able to find them for a few weeks. It was rain and freezing weather and they were ruined completely. I am now using the lanyards for anything else I can drop😂. They are cheap insurance and very inexpensive compared with the expensive hassle of trying to replace our gear when we need to be using it!
Hoping to see your Glendale fishing trip...we are generally there about 3 times a week but The deer ticks took a toll on me the past couple of years while foraging for wild edible mushrooms near our home. I did catch some beautiful crappies in March but haven't made it back up. Will be there eventually when I can walk longer without pain. 💪😎⚡
Left the house and forgot the camera, so no video this time.
Sorry to hear about your battle with the ticks. I Have some family members who have been through that.
BOUGHT THIS RANGE FINDER ON YOUR REVIEW >IT IS GREAT! THANKS!
Your welcome Brenda!
Thanks man, saved 20 bucks! Inflation hit, the cheap one is 109$ now
Wow that’s crazy. I just made that review a couple months ago. That’s a big price jump, but with the discount it’s a good price on my favorite budget range finder.
Just ordered the HR-F700 for the angle compensation for using at archery tourneys and especially TAC. Great review!
Awesome. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do b
I bought the Tidewe HR-F700 last year and it is one of the best rangefinders I've ever had.
I agree.
@@TheBudgetSportsman I bought it because TideWe was sponsoring Dan Infalt at the time and he did the video on their range finders.
Excellent review, much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Thank you! Ordered the 1000
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for the code. Ordered the HRF 700 today.
You’re welcome. Let me know what you think?
@@TheBudgetSportsman it works great for what I need! And low price was a plus.
Excellent job escaping
Thanks 👍
You say you can't read the display on the "gun" setting, did you try the "golf" setting instead? It is setup for golf lighting which is always in the sun (except for those nuts who golf in the rain).
I went and checked again. As far as I can tell the display is the same for both.
I will say any green in the display is brighter than the red (to my eyes).
do you know if "golf slope" mode is the same as angle compensation?
I have not found them to be the same. It is a similar concept, but does not calculate the same way, resulting in a different result.
Good review Nate. You did a great job pointing out the differences and similarities between the two models 👍
Thanks Dave!
Great price I like the smaller one too im not a golfer either. I’ve got a good rangefinder but interested in that one
I’m pleased so far. Will probably go with me to the woods this fall.
Excellent Video. I just purchased a high-powered PCP air rifle. I highly doubt that I’m going to be shooting it more than 200 yards for target practice and marksmanship, so I don’t see the point of purchasing the new HR-1000 model as compared to the HR- 700 model. Do you agree?
I was told by the company that the models you are discussing here are no longer made and are replaced by the HR 700/1000.
I’m sorry for the late reply. The HR-F700 still exists. The OLED version does not.
But I would agree 700 yard will be more than enough. That what I use and it works fine. The only time I ever need more than that is just for curiosity how far something is.
@@TheBudgetSportsman No problem. I purchased one based on your advice. Thanks.
I bought the smaller one a year ago. I have zero complaints once you get past the terrible manual. I have never had an issue even in low light. Just my opinion but if it's too dark to range an animal it might be too dark to shoot the animal...
I agree about not shooting in low light but often the first thing I do is range trees to get a rough idea of distances around me. I rarely actually range an animal. So usually I try to do that is early as possible so I’m ready if anything comes through.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Same 👊🏻🏹🦌
how about a black bear 3D?
I got one of their back-lit models last year, and in low light, the blooming was so bad you couldn't see your target. Sent it back right away.
My opinion is the regular version is much better than the backlit.
@TheBudgetSportsman Not sure why, but youtube didn't like me posting on your video. I just got flagged for spam.
@tray22 I don’t see any comments that are in my spam comments folder.
@@TheBudgetSportsmanI mentioned a Sig range finder that is $140 and immediately got hit with a flag, comment was pulled, and it warned me not to do it again.
@tray22 wow. That’s very strange.
HD f700 or the gogogo, I'm colorblind so the hr probably will be hard for me to read when it's darker, thank you for you reviews, helps people like me out
The hd f700 is much better than the gogogo.
I think they changed the HR-F700, when ranging in the angle compensated mode it only shows your vertical distance in yards and the compensated distance
That's how mine is. After watching this I was getting confused like "wtf, mine does not look like that" lol. I get just a "-2.5yds" or whatever the vertical distance is on the bottom
Interesting. I did not know that.
Great job on the video brother. and you saved the best for last, God is amazing! See you there.
Thanks 👍
I don't mind it but I noticed during precipitation it cannot give accurate ranges. It must not be able to cut through the snow/rain in the air and it gives readings drastically shorter than they are.
Just use the reticle in the scope to range your target...
If the HR-F700 rangefinder numbers are black does that mean you can’t see the range very clearly at night?
That is correct.
I am not finding the HD-700E anywhere. Is it discontinued? Even the Tidewe site did not have it.
I don’t have any info about that but I don’t see it either so it’s very possible. They have the HD-700 that looks like the same range finder but without the red/green display
How do you put the damn hand strap on???
I bought this based on this video. I love it. Great price, great product and great service. Now im looking at other tidewe gear to purchase.
Glad you like it! I just tried out the Tidewe blind and I love it. Also love the tide we “muck” style boots.
What do you recommend for a rifle shooter up to 700 to 1000 yards? I live is western Pennsylvania with lots of hills and trees.
I don’t do any long range shootings myself so it’s har for me to give a recommendation from experience. If I was looking for a budget friendly option I would look at the hrf-1000.
It’s basically the same as the one in this video but with a longer range.
It says it is good up to 1000 yards

@@TheBudgetSportsman thank you very much!
I’ll definitely be using that code! This is highly appreciated! What do you think about the LCD version?
The LCD is my preferred version over the OLED. It’s a better price (although it’s gone up since the video) and for me has the better screen layout. It is at the sacrifice of not being able to read it in very low light, but the OLED suffers from poor readability in brighter light.
I just bought this same one from Amazon it’s only $56 on there!
Interesting. Can you send me a link? I just looked at it on Amazon and it was $69
Thank you
You’re welcome.
Do you know where they are made? I love your videos brother.
I believe they are made in China.
Is the max range 700 per the name? Is that 700 on a reflective target?
Yes 700 yards and I would believe it would probably be a reflective target, though I primarily use this for archery and have never really tested max range.
Tidewe also offers a 1000 yard version of this range finder
How far can it range I have a issue with my old range finder not working past 200 yards
I ranged a couple days ago out past 800 yards on trees.
How long does the battery actually last before recharging on the hr-f700
I don’t know. I haven’t had to recharge it yet.
Great review! Does this rangefinder also measure in meters?
Yes it does.
Thanks
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Do you test max range readout?
I’ve ranged hard objects out to and beyond 700 yards.
@@TheBudgetSportsman thanks!
How you can rate sir the signify range finder?
I have never tried that one so I can’t say anything about it.
What is the actual distance these will range out too?
I’ve tested the hr-f700 to out past 700 yards. They also have a 1000 yard version as well.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Thanks for the info.
Have you tested their accuracy?
I’ve tested against other range finders and I’ve had no issues.
I ordered one after watching the video. At $57 how could I not?
Which mode do you use for angle compensation? And what number do you read on said mode for taking a shot with a bow from a tree stand?
If you watch all the way through the video I show pictures through the range finders and show which mode one angle compensation mode and which number is line of sight and which number is angle compensated mode. It is not the same for both range finders in this video.
For archery hunting from a treestand I use the angle compensation number NOT the line of sight number.
Hope this helps.
Good video and review.
Unfortunately they dont measure in metric so not much use for me
They actually do measure in meters. I just verified on my unit.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Thanks for verifying
@defender1323 Just multiply the number of yards by 0.9144 to get meters, simple!
HR-F700 is not delivered in india bro 🥺
Sorry. I’m not able to help you with that.
What you think of the HR-F700 in low light or dark 3d target?
I’ve only had a chance to shoot one 3D course this year and I had the HD-700E with me. That range finder was working fine on dark targets when my friends older range finder wouldn’t give a reading.
I just took the HR-F700 into the back yard in dim light and had no problem getting a reading on a totally black object behind my shed. The only issue in low light will be reading the black display against a dark background. That should be no issue in daylight hours even under heavy timber but could be a problem very early in the morning or late at night. It’s a common issue with any range finder that has a black readout.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Thanks
Link isnt hyperlinked any more
ive seen in the reviews they stopped working after a month
I’ve not heard that before. I’ve had mine for a year and haven’t had an issue with it.
@@TheBudgetSportsmanim just a little like should i or buy another bc like most of the bad reviews said theirs just stopped working
@@gboutdoors5198 like I said, I’ve never heard of that happening. Not saying it doesn’t happen but I haven’t heard of it. Read through the comments here and see how many people love their Tidewe range finder. I made a video prior to this one comparing several different range finders and there were so many comments recommending this one. It’s by far the best budget range finder I’ve used…and I’ve used a bunch. Personally if you pass up on this one, then I would go straight to one of the big name brands like vortex, but you’ll pay almost 4x the price.
They must have went up in price, the code only takes it down to $82 now
yes, unfortunately they went up in price after I made the video. It's a bummer, but $82 still is a good price for a range finder that works well.
Best money I ever spent I got the 700 not because I'm on a budget because it had everything on there that I needed
I agree with you for sure.
If you liked this video click on all the links in the description he gets paid for it and it free for us to do so why wouldn't you?
Thanks.
Get you a EZV sight and you don't need a range finder.
Tried one and it wasn’t for me.
Has anyone actually physically measured how far out these rangefinders read accurately?
I’ve had readings out beyond 700, and seems consistent with other range finders I have. I haven’t verified with a yard stick 😂
I made the mistake of buying the Halo 450 from Walmart. Out of the box I could barely read the numbers a year later first day of hunting season I dropped in a new cr2 battery (only sold in a 2 pack for 12 bucks) and I find out that it now basically doesn’t work at all. 100 dollars down the drain. No response from halo optics customer service and I found a ton of reviews of people with the same problem. Let your viewers know even if they are on a budget to stay FAR FAR AWAY from the halo rangefinders. The seem so inviting but they are TRASH.
I have a couple of vidoes that mention the halo…I’ve tried them twice and been disappointed both times.
@@TheBudgetSportsman I just had to replace it and decided to just spend a tiny bit more money this time. Vortex put out a lower cost model that is really awesome I think it’s called the crossfire 1400. Really really good for 199bucks
