@@peterpeirce3928 agreed! keith is very talented and has a marching drum line back round. his doubles are smooth as silk and his six stroke rolls are very interestingly orchestrated. you know you have made it when you have a signature stick
Went back & took a look at some earlier videos of Keith; his playing now is at an even higher level. He truly is one of the modern masters. Incredible.
Kieth is one of the best ever , been able to play with the very best musicians and just keeps delivering .. god bless you Kieth! Thanx for the great performances! Mr.Tom
Keith is driving the bus! Wouldn’t you love to have Keith as your bus driver? So solid and intense in his playing. Original style and grace. I saw most of Keith’s gigs in Dallas in the 90’s and back then he was ever bit as riveting to watch as he is now. Thanks Keith.
What i've always loved about Keith Carlock back from the very first time I heard him on an Oz Noy track, was this amazing INTENSITY that his drumming has. Noy himself said that he could recognise Keith's playing from the first bar. Its amazing, in truth - and I love it!
I’ve always loved his playing and definitely the tone he gets out of his toms but I’m starting to realize I’ve heard him play this groove with the same intensity and pretty close to the same meter bout 100 times now… Great player no doubt but I’m starting to want him to switch things up. I listen to a lot of my favorite players change their personality and approach often.
"Avalanche Roll" with free fall acceleration ! This drum sound that roars far and wide without any mute is not only effective in Jazz, but also in Fusion and Rock music
Geez, I wonder if he doesn’t know about his weight loss struggle. I get the comments about being concerned for his health, but focus on his skill and talent and try to stay away from body stuff and put yourself in his shoes reading these comments.
He plays great, but much more important he sounds great. There’s a famous clip of him playing the outro of Steely Dan’s Aja and it’s mind-blowing how much in the zone he gets
LOVE KC!! Saw him live with S Dan a dozen yrs ago in Boston. BEAST!! But jeez Keith - in the bigger picture - let's talk about getting back to better fitness. We love ya, man!!
Keith is the most original-sounding drummer since Ginger Baker. Something about his style is instantly recognizable. If you examine closely he does most of it with a few similar moves, cleverly placed in ways that no one would ever think of. Brilliant !
He's been with Gretsch for a few years- I think the Brooklyn series is usually his preferred line. And I think that DW has bought over Gretsch- hence a lot of Gretsch endorsers play the DW hardware
He's got CHOPS !!!!......PORK CHOPS !!! His drumming is good , too !! Next clinic should be with a DOCTOR.....who says : " Push away from the TABLE, Ringo !" 😂 Don't want to lose K. C.....one of the premier drummers today with his own unique style and sound....a true artist. 😊
One of the few drummers today who has an unmistakable, original, inimitable sounds and style. Amazing player!
Never has a drummer payed his rent with a 6 stroke roll more than this guy.
Your six stroke roll has to be very, very, good if it’s going to pay the rent.

He plays the same things
you dont even need a full band with this guy. I can listen to this all day baby!!!
You still need a full band, jake😮
In this world of internet where SO many sound SO much alike - WOW what a truly UNIQUE style is his - Simply superb 🤯
Insane groove. Fabulous technic. Master.
Kieth is one of the best ever , been able to play with the very best musicians and just keeps delivering .. god bless you Kieth! Thanx for the great performances!
Mr.Tom
Nice Drumsession ! I am impressed every time I see clips of drumsolos of Keith. You have to come to Sweden and play any time.
I love the man's form. He's so involved with those drums.
So many mind-blowing drummers today, and Keith is definitely one!
That sound he has, the beat, the dominating groove and impeccable timing.... it's authoritative.

Like an infinite waterfall of groove
Love this drummer ! Always creative, grooving and can chop
Keith makes the kit sing, incredible.

Beautiful playing! His sound, phrasing, note-spacing, and groove are second to none! 🔥🔥🔥

Perfect sound check Keith, i loved your concert in Paris France , you have an amazing sound with power and precision ....great player🥁
Mad grooves. He's a monster on the drums.
Monster player
Keith is such a unique drummer! Incredible combination of technique and skills😮!
Keith Carlock and Dave Dicenso, two of the best players ever (oh and Buddy Rich of course!!!!)
You forgot to mention every North Texas grad. They are usually all monsters.
Bang on man!!!!
I love Steve Jordan and
Nate smith to!👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽
Steve Gadd.
@sunnyseacat6857 yes Gadd has played with everyone as well😊
I always watch Keith’s sticks.
One of the best around today..🥁
Keith's on a different planet! So musical
Keith is such a phenomenal and unique player
No one else is this raucous using such a light touch.
Just superb.
"Avalanche Roll" with free fall acceleration !

I always return to karlock , his kick sound and his intensity is top top top ,Always want to move my body .
I love the control he has with accent notes. Just remarkable to watch and listen to.
that second bit is "Chuckles" from Band of Other Brothers. I can hear the melody in that kick part. Keith is the GOAT.
Geez, I wonder if he doesn’t know about his weight loss struggle. I get the comments about being concerned for his health, but focus on his skill and talent and try to stay away from body stuff and put yourself in his shoes reading these comments.
well said
All I know is....he can still play.
THAT’S how to play drums ! Saw him with Steely Dan a few years back. I DM’d him to say how awesome I thought he was - and he replied. Classy guy.
Master on drum, that snare damn
His roles are so fluid
Very impressive and lovely left foot action and there was even a few beats I could play too. That’s right the simple stuff 😁.
Beautiful
Toller Schlagzeuger. 👏👏👏👏👏
Your great keith, keep it up! 👍
Strong. Giant.
He makes u wanna play !!
Wow! The big fella can play!
Waw..incredible
Incredible
The way he plays it looks like he’s doing stick tricks. Bad ass.
that pocket though.....gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaht dam lol
The showmanship and the "out of control" illusionary playing of gene Krupa live on in this man. The dance is happening in the air not the drum heads
I’d watch Carlock checking out a soundcheck he’s that gifted as a player.
He sounds like 10 drummers at once. You could put in a stadium, just him, and let him play, and he would fill it with sound.
absolute monster
YES!
He plays great, but much more important he sounds great. There’s a famous clip of him playing the outro of Steely Dan’s Aja and it’s mind-blowing how much in the zone he gets
Genius
High tuning and dry no ring toms hits hard cuts real good like
He's singing on the drum set.
He is ridiculous. Ive followed him for 13 years.
LOVE KC!! Saw him live with S Dan a dozen yrs ago in Boston. BEAST!! But jeez Keith - in the bigger picture - let's talk about getting back to better fitness. We love ya, man!!
Great playing. Beautiful set of drums. He also loves the buffet it seems!
Solid
KC has a very wide beat and big sound. Like a slick Bonham. And nice balance of groove and fills.
Soundcheck or workshop?
he has his toms tuned quite high, sounds fantastic
And cue irrelevant comments about Keith’s weight ….
❤
Is amazing how He sound without china and slpash cymbals.
Keith is the most original-sounding drummer since Ginger Baker. Something about his style is instantly recognizable. If you examine closely he does most of it with a few similar moves, cleverly placed in ways that no one would ever think of. Brilliant !
This is his soundcheck, warming up.
It was unbelievable, didn’t open his eyes and never missed the target.
rad...
This cat never met a paradiddle-diddle he didn’t like - all due respect tho, great drummer…
Is he still will Yamaha? I see the DW hardware but…
He's been with Gretsch for a few years- I think the Brooklyn series is usually his preferred line. And I think that DW has bought over Gretsch- hence a lot of Gretsch endorsers play the DW hardware
Fn killer
I'll never understand that grip
Sounds OK to me
Holly shit. Dude blew up. Haven't seen him in 15 years .Damn dude needs to take care of himself.
Anyone know the kick size
he usually plays a 20"
I believe he plays a 20 these days.
probably the most fluent drummer on planet earth
Drums are wide open, no gel, pillow, blankets etc and they sing!!!!...
Health is really important on tour. Your health is your wealth. Yes he has a few too many lbs. Drumming is stellar.

😁
He's gotten huge!
Yeah, his weight seems to fluctuate a lot.
@@leedsdrumacademy Yes but he can play! One of the best out there now!
Good ears, dude…..
@@bcdrummer1962 Yes I do....Thanks...BC!
Damn Keith put on some weight but the chops are still fantastic.
Первый. Похож на преподааателя
Man he’s put on a lot of weight. Still killing it on the drums though.
That fill at 1:16 is incredibly tasty.
I can match his weight.....that's about all I've got😢
Take care of your health, please! That much weight is deadly.
This is illegal stuff...
He promptly left the sound check and hit the buffet.
What happened to all that weight he lost a few years back?!
Great playing...sad that he looks pre diabetic.
That wide open kick is awful
You CAN’T be serious. It’s one of the best sounding kicks ever!
Your wide open momma is awful. That kit sounds killer, much better than yours with an emad and a mattress in it
Eat much?!?!
Beast
I wonder why he gave up on the weight loss? He's great either way ...but I'm concerned about his health... He's larger than ever.
Low carb diets are a disaster, people ruin their health to lose weight, it's unsustainable and they gain the weight back and a lot more
