doesn't it feel to to have done it yourself?. next time you will get it done a lot faster. remember you did not change a water pump and timing belt. YOU LEARNED how to change a water pump and timing belt. next time you will just "change it" no worries :-)
I just got done replacing the water pump in my 97 Metro and I had the exact same issue. As soon as I started pouring coolant in the radiator it immediately started leaking out from underneath the timing belt cover. Did you have to put the rtv sealant on with the gasket to get it to stop leaking?
. Maybe he has it but didn't want to show all the trouble it takes to remove it🤔. But if any oil from another leak gets on the timing belt, it will slowly turn that belt to gum and beak the belt or stretch it. That will throw your timing off.
Good job. Way to hang in there.
Sorry it took you so long! Im about to attempt to change my water pump so wish me luck! Its my most advanced mechanical job ever by myself.

I'm sure glad I'm a mechanic. Other than tires and alignments never had to have a shop do anything.
Dude I can pull that motor in 20 min just to make it easer to change and no joke
I can pull my geo engine without a hoist.
? no part 10... dang it ahy?
So, just exactly why was it still leaking those last 2 times? Didn't have the gasket in place correctly???? Or what???
Not having the timing belt cover is a bad move.

Best bet is to get the book and half the job is done right there.😁😇
