Oh no. Bile isn't lying in the slightest. He genuinely wants to save humanity and believes he's ultimately doing the right thing, trying to create a new breed of humans to replace what he views as flawed. But his frame of reference about what is 'right' is rooted in the idea that the ends justify means, so morality and ethics have no place in his sense of what is 'right', only the cold, cruel logic of leaving humanity at large to rot as he tries to innovate, no matter how many babies he has to skin to do it. And the worst part is that Bile isn't necessarily wrong in his presumption; if he genuinely got what he wanted, humanity would be well on its way to significant evolutionary progress and potentially would be more than prepared to deal with the existential threats that face it. The problem is that Bile is unaware of how he's being manipulated by Chaos, for all that he tries to remain the consummate atheist, rejecting and denying the Chaos Gods, he fails to understand that they still hold power over him, even if he denounces them with every waking moment. After all, he's still chasing perfection and artistry in his work, not realizing how deep Slaanesh's hooks have already sunk into him. He thinks he's managed to stay ahead, that he's somehow managed to stay free where Abaddon, Cawl and Guilliman remain shackled by powers beyond their control, and that's the crux of it all; he thinks he's cheated the system, when in reality he's just as wrapped up in the Great Game as anyone else.
@@Warmaster2001abaddon is the warmaster of chaos undivided. He doesn't serve any individual chaos God so he has more freedom than say a khornate berserker, a plague marine of nurgle, a rubric of tzeentch, or an emperors children hedonite but if he stops putting energy into empowering and serving chaos they can still kill him. He can probably gain blessings of power from each god individually with certain rituals or sacrifices and serving all four gods should keep him from dealing with the draw backs of serving one god but he is still their puppet just like his weak father who died weeping and ashamed.
@@Warmaster2001 He doesn't serve the Chaos Gods directly, just like Bile, but unlike Bile he's managed to avoid any of the Chaos Gods getting their hooks in deep enough to really influence him. However, they've still set him up to do their dirty work, empowering them and weakening their enemies, just like Horus. If Abaddon has his way, he'll slay the Emperor with his own two hands, but even if he can say he did it of his own free will, that he is still a human man with a human soul that achieved such a thing through his own merits and that he's denied the Chaos Gods up until that point, he'll be faced with the same soul-crushing revelation the Cabal said would be visited upon Horus if he had won the Heresy; even if he chose the path, he was still lied to, tricked, and manipulated into following it to serve the purposes of the Chaos Gods. That said, the Cabal did mention something else; in his grief and rage, Horus would have burned the Imperium to the ground and wiped out humanity, and in the process of causing so much damage to the galaxy would have dealt the Chaos Gods such a devastating blow that they would either be destroyed outright or be sent into dormancy. Now is Abaddon good enough to do that? Probably not, and I subscribe to the notion that the Cabal were full of it and only saw the future they wanted to see, where their two biggest threats, Chaos and humanity, destroyed one another and left the galaxy open for the next race to conquer, but that's the tragedy of Abaddon; he's done everything in his power to try and be better than Horus, but ultimately he already doomed himself to the same failings as his father over 10,000 years ago.
In his 10000 years of life cawl would literally heard same dialogue tens thousands of times from menagerie of villainous mad scientists with better fashion sense that tried to destroy imperium in name of humanities and cawl would also familiar with this act as he contains some of them.

Bile actually learns to give up his obsession in his trilogy, saving his creation from the influence of both himself and the gods. What is Fabius plan? How exactly he pretends to destroy Chaos? I mean, the emperor, a being extremely more powerfull and ancient failed and how preciselyy the Bile intends to succeed where others way more knowledgeable fail? I think the clone lord is way too proud of himself.
Where Cawl and Bile differ? Cawl intends for Man to be the Best he possibly can. Bile intends for Man to be replaced by something Better. Likely why the Primaris resulted in a tanked up Eldar and the New Man a hyper steroid Ork.
Biles plannis fairly simple. Wait out tthe larger conflict till both sides are dead, then repopulate the galaxy with a race of his own creation. So far his creations have been formidable, albeit monstrous and inhuman, many have fallen to Chaos. That is his blindspot, by denying his own corruption he doesn't see that the flaw of his creations lay with their maker. He will never achieve his goal.

Whats hilarious about 40k is that the writers always try so hard to make opposing factions seem ”equally evil” yet theres always one side which is clearly a gazillion times worse. On one side we have a struggling imperium using any means possible to save humanity from extinction, including highly immoral methods, yet these actions all serve the purpose of saving humanity. On the other side a thousand insane rotting abominations are eating the limbs of living children because they think it tastes good. GW litteraly cant convince me the imperium are bad guys when everything questionable theyve ever done was done to save humanity from the horrors theyre fighting.
Bile accusing Fabius of kidnapping, torture, and brainwashing is "ASTOUNDING" because Bile does worse every day for fun. Cawl does what he does because he thinks it is a terrible necessity. Cawl is here sniping at Bile's every flaw and hypocrisy, and the best Bile can do is deflect and distract by making another hypocritical accusation.
"But little did Bile know, before this conversation, that one of Cawl's favorite personalities was a huge comic book nerd obsessed with batman villains"
Bile: "Your primaris are barely an improvement on an already flawed design!" Cawl: "Bro, I have to update the logistics on a galactic level, of course I could do one super abomination like you do, but have you ever tried to keep a supply line for them?!" Bile is the type of Guy who thinks a war can be won by wunderwaffe, that once he has perfected the design for the Maus, he will turn the tides. Cawl is the guy who sees that you have to put the tanks on a boat, so best we can do is making the Sherman slighly larger, but keep it simple so crews can repair them, and it can be deployed everywhere.

Fabius not believing in gods is like Vashtorr talking about War in Heaven - moment when you realise how dangerous they are and how deep in trouble you are.
@@xanmontes8715 the existence of extremely strong psionic entities in 40k is undeniable. The difference is if you view them as gods OR you can look past your difference in scale. Fabius doesn't believe them to be gods. If given a chance he'd gladly put one of those "gods" on a table to open it up to study to see if he can copy them. In case of Vashtorr, him talking about War in Heaven, something no human apart from Emperor can be aware of(and even Emps is only because he fought Void Dragon and might have met Vaul) implies thing like him being aware of what C'Tan are, that they can be controlled, HOW they can be controlled and what they can do.
Ego partly. The other part being that Fabius gets into some seriously messed up crap whereas Cawl is TRYING to stay on the right side of things as much as they can.
"they would have shot me" except they wouldn't have, the imperium largely did not punish the loyalist members of traitor legions. Many of them joined up with loyalist legions and fought against their traitor brothers.
This could easily be a similar conversation to when the emperor was trying to recruit perpetuals during the dark age. Bile sounds so much like the emperor just more talkative and open
I have read that members of traitor legions were still loyal to the Emperor. They become some of the founding members of the Grey Knights. But what would Malcador have thought of Bile if he had decided to turn himself in?
@@Aqua311 Bile absolutely gave in for a very long time (lots of very fucked up experiments to do and unlimited purview), but eventually he turned around, said this is pointless and left the Emperor's children. After that Bile does actually seem to change his mindset, and is more focused on his scientific endeavours than what the Third Legion ended up doing most of the time (which you can kind of argue he was always doing, but he was, by his own admission, caught up by Fulgrim's steady fall during the Horus Heresy). He's corrupted, but not in the way that the Chaos Legion's usually are, and he's more like the scientist that created the Omega Sanction (I think it's called that, basically an anti-transhuman supervirus the Custodes ordered). He's obsessed with creating a version of humanity that can survive the Galaxy of 40k (which he actually sort of achieved with the New Men until Fulgrim got involved, they are resistant to Chaos, can take down Astartes in close combat, are incredibly resilient and intelligent, and are capable of integrating into current human societies while steadily replacing them), but it's never good enough, he's always pushing the boundaries and never stops, which is why Slaanesh likes him so much, but he is firmly not Chaos in the sense of Chaos Worship and actively causes all the Daemon's around him to shrink back in fear (yes fear) because he denies them so thoroughly. If he wasn't corrupted by his association with the Third and the Phonecian, he'd probably have been one of Big E's favourites. As it stands he's still closer to the Emperor's ideals than most. He's sort of a high functioning psychopath mad genius that was given superpowers, and now he's even more of all that. If Malcador found him any time after the start of the Heresy he'd probably have been "shot", and by that I mean they would have captured him, had him work for the Loyalists, and then killed him afterwards. Fabius is many things, most of them awful (even before the fall), but he's also very good at what he does, which is why the Traitor's haven't just killed him yet. The major issue with Bile is the same issue as Fulgrim, he's so obsessed with perfection that he can't let go and move on to something else even if it is harmful to everyone around him. Bile perfectly cloned Fulgrim in a way that the Primarch was uncorrupted and seemed to have that Primarch spark, but traded him away so he could have more material to work on his New Men with.
@@AveSicarius When human life is taken for granted as it is in 40k, perfection will never be achieved.
@@Brutalyte616 what about Abbadon is he also just like Bile a pawn of Chaos or he really cheated the system and doing stuff independently?

I have read that members of traitor legions were still loyal to the Emperor. They become some of the founding members of the Grey Knights.
But what would Malcador have thought of Bile if he had decided to turn himself in?
The whole issue is he had his part in corruption of both Fulgrim and 3rd Legion
@@macshadow1150 How ironic.
@@Aqua311
Bile absolutely gave in for a very long time (lots of very fucked up experiments to do and unlimited purview), but eventually he turned around, said this is pointless and left the Emperor's children.
