They are some sort of plumbing part fitted with fine stainless steel mesh, bought them on eBay years ago, unfortunately I don't have the link or know what they are called, wouldn't recommend them they are too much work to install and drill holes for.
I take the stolon which is the base of the bromeliad and push it through a hole drilled inthe driftwood, I'll be showing how to do this in one of my upcoming videos
very nice installations. I have a question: how do you manage to clean the front glass of your terrarium (those who are aquarium converted) and what product or tool do you use for that? thank u
what's the maintenance and cleaning like on vivariums? I notice some of these are very clean and some have quite a bit of algae. is it fine to leave the algae for a while or do you need to clean it regularly? how quickly does algae build up?
Maintenance can be very minimal for vivariums, depending on some variables, I have some vivariums that I just mist several times a week and feed the frogs, cleaning the glass only once a month. The more ventilation you have in a viv the less algae will grow. The more humid vivs I keep will grow algae in 2-4 weeks and algae is not harmful just an eyesore. Another thing that may need to be done once every month or so is draining any excess water out of the bottom of the vivarium.
Curious if there might be a type of snail or other invertebrate that could help manage the algae, for aesthetic reasons. Or is the algae beneficial to them?
I don't know of anything that will eat the algae, any type of snail will also eat your plants and possibly frog eggs, in my opinion the algae it is not beneficial to the frogs in any way other than waste export
Do you have, or have ever made, a paludarium!? My dream is to make a azureus and cherry/amano shrimp habitat... is that a good idea in your experience?
Are all the dart frogs in the video kept at the same temperature? Do you adjust the temperature for each type? By the way, how many times are the temperatures raised in the morning and night?
They are all kept at the same temperature only thing that would differ is if some tanks have a more powerful light it could bring the temp up my a couple degrees. Other than that the temp stays pretty constant and may drop 5-10 degrees at night but that's about it.
@@ZERO-ye5cr Sure I try to reply to all the questions I get, honestly the temperature is just set on my home thermostat and I don't do anything special to regulate the temps in the frog room. The frogs do well in temps anywhere between 65-80 degrees. I try to keep them right around 75 degrees but the temp does vary from day to day just like it would in the wild.
So I've never calculated the power consumption for everything I run but it isn't that bad, 95% of the lights I run are LED's they are all on timers and the misting systems only go off for a few seconds a couple times a day. I've invested well over $20,000 in the 17 years I've been keeping frogs between buying frogs, plants, and equipment not to mention the time I've put into everything.
@@JohnDoe-dq7kn There are a lot of people working with them, I would watch the classifieds on facebook and if that doesn't work email me and I can refer you to some people that might have them
Amazing video!! Beautiful collection
Thanks!
Nice set up! Its Looking really good
Thanks
I love your frogs! I can not imagine how many fruit fly cultures you have to make. This must be your full time job!!
Thanks haha, I make 18 fly cultures per week, I'm working on making it my full time job.
@@TCSDartFrogs WOW!! I only have 8 frogs and I make 6 cultures a week. What ff food/media do you use?
@@BriansAquariums It's my own mixture, I'm going to start selling it on my website soon

on your way to becoming the worlds leading breeder in dart frogs
I'm not that close lol but thanks for the words of encouragement!
Nice have you ever had one of these tanks break
Not so far, I've broken a few lids but not the actual tanks
Awesome collection. The 3in1 tank with the different Ranitomeya in ... how big is each individual tank?
Thanks, each tank is 10 gallons.
Nice set up! Where’d you get your bullseye from?
The bullseye came from Bobby Zahradnkik
Thanks!
Thanks for Sharing! What do you use as the strip between the sliding doors to fruit fly proof them?
I use a strip of silicone, you can see how I make it here ua-cam.com/video/zh-uonY3T-M/v-deo.html
Thank you!
What is the background material for the first few tanks?
They are steam compressed cork panels
Know of any places to get good deals on driftwood? Seems a lot of places over charge.
Glass Box Tropicals has good deals on wood, but it is a bit pricey because it's expensive to ship also.
6:07 what did you use for those vents

Thanks, I just use a spray bottle and paper towels to clean the front glass, if algae is really stubborn I will use a razor.
@@TCSDartFrogs oh thank you, I never thought of using a razor :-)

What cages do you use
I use a lot of standard 10 and 20 gallon aquariums but all the front opening tanks are homemade.
