Following your excellent instructions, I successfully modified the multipurpose hook on all my Swiss Army knives and, with great success! ... Apart from Molly my lovely daughter, nothing cheers me up more than watching - and re-watching - your videos! A big smile grows, and I'm very happy. Thank you Felix for all these wonderful bushcraft videos! *Hugs* - Wendi

Just got my Victorinox Hiker today. The blades were really hard to pull out so I washed it under hot water, dried it and oiled it. Much better. The saw is really aggressive. The knife blades very sharp. The weight minimal.

Dazu noch solche Modifikationen die das ganze noch umfangreicher machen als es eh schon ist.
Respekt! Und vielen Dank fürs zeigen!

Love the idea of a workshop series!!!
Suggestion: I modified he wire stripper by filing it into a sharp conical shape with a pen-size (or dremel) round pointy sharpening tool. That way you can cut and strip the wire with the same tool (at the same time), which is faster.

I enjoy your SAK videos. I own several Victorinox knives, but for my uses I prefer the Explorer, which has the magnifying glass, (great for helping extract splinters with the excellent tweezers). I hope that people understand that sharpening the hook means it will cut into string, if you later try to use the hook as intended, that is, to lift heavy parcels tied with string! This modification definitely should be done only if you want to build a drinking cup out of wood. :-)

Felix honestly you have changed my whole outlook, opinion everything on sak's (I would never have even called them that lol) I've been on the streets for 6 years (homeless) so I usually had one or two knives for protection and or bush craft Ive been rehoused for 9 months had the Internet for about 6 months but as soon as I can afford to get a decent sak I'm getting one your videos I've turned into my bible honestly I've learnt so much I always wondered what the tools where for apart from the obvious but your videos have blown my mind could I ask a question please ? In the video where you make the crazy rocket stove that was so cool and is so very handy to know which Swiss army knife is it because I've already started to save and that is the model I would like to own thank you so very much for all your advice please keep doing g what you do best making vids can't wait to see your next one many thanks and let love and light be in your life you rock!

@@bigsmiffy9012 After 30+ years of owning a pocket SAK similar to the Alox style, I stupidly broke the tip off the large knife trying to pry old screen spline out of its track. Let me tell you, it broke my heart. Using it just wasn't the same after that, so I bought the RangerWood 55 for about $65 off Amazon because it had the tools I wanted AND it locks AND it's gorgeous. I love it.
Unfortunately, it's much too gargantuan for a reasonable pocket carry. So I "downgraded" to the SAK Camper not too long ago, and it was only about $27. It has everything I think I might need for the kinds of projects that Felix does: large and small knife, saw, awl, corkscrew (useful for untangling knots), and your usual screwdriver and can opener. (I even got a toothpick and tweezers this time!) Although it doesn't have the hook in this video and it doesn't lock, I'm absolutely okay with that and am quite as in love with the Camper as I am with the bigger one. (Have to admit--still kinda jealous of the hook now.)
The Camper--that particular model--is just a suggestion, because it's a pretty good tool, but inexpensive, too. However, I know $27 might be a lot for you right now. Still, I wanted to tell you about it, just so you might keep in mind that a nice piece of equipment doesn't have to cost a lot, and that it isn't SO far out of your reach. You might be surprised at what you can find by playing around on the SAK website, and there's a lot to be had on Amazon.
Good luck with your situation. It sounds like you're working hard at getting to where you want to be. Keep your goals in mind and your chin up, and know that a stranger on UA-cam is rootin' for you!

@@FelixImmler other apps/social medial allow to comment and you can attach pictures in the comments which could make things easier. So you could attach a close up picture of the final result in the comments and we could all see what exactly the modification looks like without checking your page on facebook for example.
