Never underestimate ANY of the tools on your Swiss Army Knife. The Swiss have a LONG history of frugality & resourcefulness. The SAK is legendary for many good reasons...For those of you out there that don't have a SAK, PLEASE, treat yourself to one. Get the biggest & best that you can afford. It will be a purchase that will last you a lifetime and, you can pass on the heirloom to your kids & grand kids. I assure you, you will smile every time you find a "new" use for your knife...I have one that was my grandfathers and I'll treasure it until the day I die. The knife blades are crazy sharp. (as ALL blades should be...IMO)...Kudos to Victorinox for making such an incredible life tool
I rely on the hook to tension my boot laces all the time. As for untying knots, the corkscrew can get into tighter knots. Interestingly, I used the corkscrew to pull on a small zipper tab that the hook was too large to engage. I really appreciated this video.
Ordered my 3rd Swiss Army knife today. Can’t wait to receive it, very high quality but also great value. I will use the hook as a phone prop in the future I’m sure. Thanks again for this video!!
I had no real use case for that hook until now. This video proved that actually there's no real use case for me, which I couldn't solve with any other tool from my SAK. So indeed, the hook is a complete waste of space in my case. I'm still happy that there are people who can use it.
My grandfather had a immitation all by his side for 60 years as he died i inherit his. 4 years after it fell apart. Today i have 3 of them and gratefull for them.
I bought a huntsman 1 week ago. Day 1 having it as my edc at work and I used the hook to open several network closet doors, that didn't have doorknob, bu hooking it through the keyring hole on the key to get leverage. I still haven't used the awl yet though 🤣
Question, isn't twisting with the hook bad for the knife? Like of course it would survive twisting to some degree, but screwing that thing into the wood looked tough, i wouldn't dare do that with my knife, i'd fear I'll damage the liners...
Awesome video but I feel like an idiot. I was looking to find out how to use my "hook" when out fishing... not to actually snag a fish, but to remove the hook more easily/safely, which is what someone had led me to believe to too was for. *Sigh*.
I may have to reconsider that the hook is the most worthless tool... I'd still like to see them put a couple fine tooth files on the sides of it... ( A nail file and a fish hook sharpener)

Pure poetry❤

I was thinking the exact same - the corkscrew can do a lot of the things that the hook does as well.
I wear thick wool sweaters outdoors. When a branch pulls out a wool thread I use the hook from the inside to pull the thread back in.

Which models do you have

Swiss army knives are the tops! I always carry one! 👍

Now I need an sak with a hook lol, great demo of is many functions
Okay, pulling at tight knots and fetching an all metal pot of boiling water you got me with! 😂
I use the hook to open and close the hot-water heater cover on my RV.

These videos prove that there's no reason to continue to question the uses of all the instruments.
Fantastic Felix, many thanks.

I'm hooked
Never knew the phone trick.
what model knife is that?
I think it’s the huntsman
Some great ideas here that I had not thought of for my #SAKedc or #SAKAlox cheers from #FlickrSpelio
you forgot the trick with a jigsaw blade

1st thing 1st i need another swiss army knife to open this hook.
You are using it wrong then. Theres a tip to take it out easily
Use the top of the toothpick to open the tools on your swiss army knife if they are hard to open. Then clean and oil it.
basically, it makes your life harder
Exactly the opposite
the music
👍🏼😎

Hang a shirt
which model SAK you are using?
