As a woman, this man is the nightmare scenario. Stalkers are incredibly dangerous and deadly and they can ruin your life and your entire sense of safety. This infatuation has nothing to do with her, hes just using the idea of her as a crutch to distract from things in his life he's refusing to face. Until he gets help from a professional, this has the potential to only escalate and very likely could end with tragedy.
I hate to admit I was once like this to try to get a gf not to the extent of money but because I was alone for a long time so I met this girl which I was obsessed about. And would send these cringe long messages. But we're friends now so it's cool but I felt bad how I was once like this
It does seem that he's been monitoring her obsessively, but she also gave him her number, so I have to assume reciprocal interest. She also took the time to include him in her social media posts. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. If she lets him take her on a date, it could be dangerous because he will never respect her boundaries, but a lot of women love danger.
