Fantastic content. With the recent weather tragedies hopefully the lineman are doing alright. Looking forward to the day you secure a lineman on the show.
Excellent interview. Really enjoyed. My Dad was a phone man & I thought he was so cool climbing poles etc. He saved up money for me to go to college but said if not you’re not going you’re going to work for Southwestern Bell. Well in 1974 the only job for a white male was Operator Services. EEOC was pushing for women outside & males inside jobs. Dad I don’t wanta be an operator! He told me to get my foot in the door & after 6 months I would have full benefits, & could transfer to an outside position. After a year & half I got a lineman job. Thought I died & went to heaven. It was my most fun job in a 30 year career. From there I moved to cable splicer, then inspector over placing buried cable. After that I got promoted to management as a cable/installation manager . Then promoted to a second level area manager-over construction in Austin Tx. I retired in 2004 with full benefits at 48 years old. I lived the dream. Thanks Dad. So the trades taught me so much & now I can do just about anything from lesson learned on the job. HooRah 💪💥😊

Would love to have one on the show...it's in the works
