I haven't had the 12 year, but the Coy Hill is basically classic JD profile just ultra concentrated and flavorful whereas the 10 year (and presumably 12 year) are going to have that extra age bringing in the darker, oakier and more integrated flavors. You honestly can't go wrong
There are some great Coy Hills, but DK is correct in them being a concentrated JD profile. The 10 and 12 aren’t nearly as big and bold, but they have flavors you don’t see in the Coy Hills. Cheers!
One thing regarding the Jack Daniel's mash bill ... I've seen various reviewers "flip" the mash bill: some say it's 12% rye and 8% barley while others say 8% rye and 12% barley. I had always thought it was 8% rye but not sure which is correct.
They sound fantastic, JD really does a great job when you venture out from the norm. Have you tried the single barrel barrel proof rye?
I picked up a bottle last night 138 proof! Very flavorful!
I’ve had the last release, but not the new ones yet. Those were definitely worth the retail price. Thank you and cheers!
How do these compare to the flavor of the Coy Hill release?

I ran into 10's 4 times. Snagged one each time. Very good...not great. Would not pay over MSRP. Missed out on the 12.
And that look with the first sip of the 12, that just sells it. Now if stores would just sell it at retail and not secondary prices...
I totally agree with you! Cheers!
Lovely!
Love to hear reviewers speak in realistic terms about secondary value.
Thank you and cheers!
Masterful review
Thank you for being here and cheers!
I was lucky to pick up a JD 10 Year, but have not seen the 12 Year at any stores. Not willing to pay secondary for it. 🥃
Yeah secondary is a tough. Cheers!
Thanks for the review!!!
These are special bottles and I absolutely trust your opinion/palette.
I am thankful for folks like yourself John! Cheers! 🥃
Great, great video! You're my favorite reviewer and I appreciate you palate and content
And I do this for appreciative people like yourself! Thank you and cheers! 🥃
10 an 12 was amazing
