@@MacStoker LOLOLOLOL
@@MacStoker i might have to make a drum and bass remix :)
I saw Brenda K Starr in the lobby of House of blues in Chicago back in 2003.
I walked up, pointed at her and sang “Hey you! Yeah I’m talking to youuuu!”
She started laughing. Really sweet person.
I envy you
Love this movie, Andy B Badd "Shakedown breakdown" was the best.
Well the manager of the Roxy wasn't too impressed with him...🤣🤣🤣
He was the clear winner of this audition.
"Often imotated but never duplicated" I always laughed at his part as a child, still find it funny to this day
What I love about this movie is because the system is in it
I love The System!!
I love the system..
I dont think I paid any attention to them when I was a kid watching this film a hundred times but now I love the system baptize the beat 🙌
This movie epitomized the true height and depth of hip hop.
Baptize the Beat is still one of the best
yes 🙂 was (is) on album of film Beat Street. I have original tape bought on 80 🙂
0:19 Gotta love how Brenda Starr is moving to the other singer’s performance, showing support to her competitor essentialy. But mannnn I wish Brenda’s full song was released and available… Vicious Beat is my joint!! ❤
That's crazy, this was the first time I saw this, and I saw the movie in the theater back in the 80's.
@@dhoshi55 I never saw it in the theater but grew up with this movie (on VCR) and….same! Never noticed it till recently lol
She even had time to change her pants
@@cabagoolSharp!! Now that I didn’t notice!
@@cabagoolActually, it’s the same pants lol. The backside is black and the front is grey lol….She tricked us! 😂
Michael Murphy and the System went on to put out Don't Disturb This Groove very nice song.
NICE?? That song was #4 on Billboard hot 100 and #1 on the R&B chart for a week back in 1987.
@@TheTallMan50 Exactly, not to mention a host of other hits they had
just seen Brenda Star in San Antone she still jamz and is fine as well!!
🔥 Love "The System", with this scene from the movie Beat Street I fell in love with the Memorymoog synth.
Heres some guitar!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
guy was so ahead of his time
Thank u 4 ur coments...u r a wise hip hop person. Andy b badd ...here's some Guitar jus. 4 u..
@@monogramadikt5971 I'm still ahead of my time thank u 4 saying those words...Andy b badd
Im glad he made us aware that there is some guitar coming, so that we'd be prepared.
🤘🤘🤘
Now for those that know what hip hop truly is...This whole scene is it!
From Brazil
The two dancer boys was members of Fantastic Duo group.
They snapped so hard. When I'm top rocking anywhere their energy is there.
Dynamic Duo I think they were called 😉👍
Qhats the song they were pop locking to?
The taller one later became a member of Mariah Carey's dance crew, Elite Force.
@@TGGaineyProductions You gotta go where the work is, I guess? Ha ha
This entire segment screams 80’s. The fashion choices are interesting
I still have this soundtrack. Both vinyl.
All of these songs are my lovely 80's vibs
Back on the day was the best
Every Song and Dance here was Absolutely FIRE!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
I Wish they were actual Full Tracks... 😩
That last one, (Shakedown Breakdown), was friggin GOLD. 😭🤣👏👏👏
Hilarious!
Dude, Shakedown Breakdown is magnificent. I have to check in and listen to it a couple times a month.
I love this movie, I wish I was an adult in the eighties. ❤❤❤❤❤
how old were you in 84? 🤔
Yeah but you' would be old,
@@WaterfrontEnt I was two years old.
@@WaterfrontEnt I just seen the typo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@adrina911 lol
2023...looking back u can really so much in this one clip.
The Roxy. Man, those were the days when I went dancing Saturday nights for 10 years. Peter rauhhofer and Victor Calderon were the best.
The System, the underrated band in which its vocalist was once confused with Michael Jackson himself due to style and clothing.
they are so dope i was like "YOU JUST REJECTED THE SYSTEM!!!" 😂😂😂😂
Hey youuu !!! yeah I’m talking to youuuu !!!!im here to tell you to tell you the scoop !!! I play no game I’m right to the poiiiint!!! …”Man i get the chills Brenda Starr Was such a legend
If she didn't do this - What is a Mariah ?
Oh snap! Is that Mic Murphy and David Frank of the System 1:00
yes indeed
3:30 this song is legendary of its own
Brenda K Starr 🇵🇷❤️❤️ she’s still doing music!
Tina B has a great record from '84, Honey To A Bee. All dope auditions and songs here!
Tina B was a real artist? I had no idea.
@@christopherdieudonneOnly thing I know is Tina B is Arthur Baker's (a record producer) daughter.
@@Grandmaster__Gee Oh wow. I know who Arthur Baker is. Thanks for the info !
Brenda Starr
Andy B Bad won the audition in my opinion.
Mine too !!
Absolutely. He blew that roof off. Like Marty and The Pinheads. They weren't ready for this.
He won the entire movie
Every crew needs a dude with solicitude like Charlie (Leon G.) he read the situation and got his man the gig without even auditioning. Charlie was one of the unsung heroes of this movie and epitomized the business pillars of Hip Hop culture!
best film ever made
This is my joint my movie for life and Brenda K. Starr group with me 90th St. and Amsterdam and look at her now she went so far
I didn't realize that was The SYstem, Don't Disturb this Groove was a classic. I swear I have seen Paul Rudd imitating the keyboardist.
The System was so good
YYYYYEEEESSSS ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻MGM'S MUSIC AND VIDEO THE BEST AGAIN✝️✊🏻☺️
If the audition was today it would have been The System as the best song and music in my opinion. Their sound was ahead of the time.
Andy b goin off
The white guy only wants to talk to those Hispanic freestyle singers but hip hop pulled off and the rest is history
2:40 esa base de electro con Scratch y el rap es brutal 40 años después 😮
0:49 The System - Baptize the Beat
Shakedown, Breakdown! 🤘
Guitar guy was 🔥
That kid with the black cowboy hat just got hired
That was the best performance. I’m a make you sweating wine you like this you know I’m gonna give you this that’s right ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I'm not going to front but I'm feelin that Andy B Bad!
🤘
Great scene showcasing different musical styles of the 80s. I want a playlist with all these songs on it
The System - Baptize The Beat was ahead of its time. 2025 is still sound good.
Baptize the Beat. Baptize the Beat-uh.
👌
The Guitar isn't plugged in! 3:29
Shake down! Breakdown!
Rip Andy B. Badd
He died??? Wow. 😢
No!!!
Minute 2:40 that brother is dope
this was a fun scene in the movie.
Andy B Bad is the clear winner of these auditions.
@ 2:37 min
Pls track title + artist name. Thx.
TOP POP USA ANOS 80'S YEARS.!
Break dancing level and currently the v.i.p ghost of wind has been a level of maniac action's!🏒🤪
I THINK IF THE SAME AUDITION WAS DONE TODAY, THE SYSTEM GROUP WOULD HAVE WON IN MY BOOK. 0:49. THEY WERE WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME. ALL THE OTHER ACTS SOUNDED LIKE THEATER WERE DOING MUSIC FITTING 80'S TIME.
When the film came out in ‘84,I thought The System’s song was utter rubbish. 40 years later I think it sounds great!!
@@gavinpells4497 That is exactly what i am saying. Their music actually has relevance compared to the other trendy artist of the time.
Strong bold and demanding 😂😂
The System...
'Nothings Gonna Come Easy' at start of video- sung by the incomparable Tina B.
The system before they made it big
Girlfriend keeps singing the Captain Obvious line that nothing is going to come easy in your life......🤣🤣🤣
What song is at 3:11?
What's the tune at 3:11???
I loved every act!! Here’s a little guitar!! Radio Rock!!! The Treacherous 2!!
I think it’s the Treacherous 3. Kool Moe Dee was in that.
I loved the Treacherous One
Song name at 3:11 ?!?!?
I like how he cuts the Strokes off mid guitar solo😂
2:40 I thought that was RZA. lol
Beat Street Volume Three should've gotten released with Brenda K Starr's first hit Vicious Beat
Lol yeah this has 2 be the BEST w0RsT audition in the H!$TORY.....aLL This damm talent.....NEeeXT!! LOL
1:34 name song???

Tough day for a Judge

1:34 is Best Song
2:39 🤠🤠
They don't stand a chance with Andy B 😂
Dude. That song was epic. 🤘
Its like 5 people asking for the origin of the beat @3:11. Can we get an answer already!
Wanda G walked so Spinderella could run.
ANyBODY KNOW WHERE i CaN FIND THESE SONGS??????,
Perhaps in the beat street soundtrack?
Unfortunately these were not on neither of the Beat Street soundtracks, unless there is a little known Vol. 3
@@chizmwizm1846baptize the beat was
Not sure vol 1 yellow or 2 purple😀
Baptize The Beat was on the first volume of the soundtrack and Nothing's Gonna Come Easy was released on the second volume. The others were supposed to be released on volume 3 but due to the low sales of the second volume, it was shelved.
I had no idea Reggie Miller was in this! 2:41
Is the guy in 0:52 a young Jon Secada?
That’s Mic Murphy and the group is The System, probably best known for their big hit “Don’t Disturb This Groove.”
Can anyone say 3 minutes and 29 seconds??!!!!!! Anyone? Anyone?????😂😂😁😁
I had the break crush on Brenda K Starr, shoot I still do!
3:29
The original American Idol
