THE BOTTLE
This year’s release was 9,600 750 mL-sized bottles. Every barrel used in this release was at least six years old. It is a wheated mash-bill but no other details. Bottled barrel-proof. Straight from the barrel. Unfiltered. Uncut. Cask strength at 140.9 proof! Hazmat baby.

Hazmat
My first hazmat was this year cowboy for me it’s the best bourbon I have this year. I absolutely love this bourbon

My first and only Hazmat was a Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill SiB at 142.3 proof. It was outstanding. I’ve had the last couple years of Garrison Bros Cowboy and I look forward to trying the 2023. I like most of the Garrison Bros expressions and would love to try the Laguna Madre at some point.
wow lil jealous with that JD coy hill. I hunted that one and no luck. secondary it ridiculous on it. Glad you have tried multiple garrison Bros Cowboy. I did try last years and now this one. Great pour lots of flavor. I also would love to try Laguna Madre and Guadalupe. Haven't gotten to yet. cheers

They are few and far between and when come out usually go quickly. so hard to grab. Glad this was my first one, really enjoyed it. you maybe one of the lucky winners and this could be your first hazmat as well. cheers.
169 proof Canadian is the highest I’ve had, 148 is the highest that I truly love

It's good stuff. Great video! We picked it up on release day at the distillery. We have made it out to 3 of the last 4 releases at the ranch. I finished about 1/2 my bottle before I even got my box. The hazmat stuff is great!
Oh nice. So how was that experience getting from distillery. How early do you have to get out there? I want to try that next year. So any advice? Cheers
@@OldFashionedWays the ranch is really cool and the tour is cool to get to see their whole process. The whiskey shack has great food and makes good drinks, also. For Guadalupe we went out there at about 5 in the morning and then for laguna madre and cowboy we didn’t go until closer to 8 and waited in line for maybe an hour and a half to two hours. Some people show up later maybe closer to noon and just drive right in but you are gambling that they will have some left. They always do 1,000 bottles on release day. I have heard for the first time releases like Lady Bird that the lines and waits are longer
I really enjoyed, the small batch( favorite easy to find bourbon), the honeydew is great..my next is Guadalupe/cowboy, the price holds me back and not many bars carry it. My "hazmat" 😂 go to has been larceny barrel proof c923 at 126 and I truly enjoy it.
small batch is great and can have a nice difference from batch to batch. I have not tried the Guadalupe and would like to try it. Larceny BP if good, have you had a sip of Elijah Craig BP C923. both are great pours. I have done a review on both I believe coming out next week. cheers and have a great day.

I have a Hazmat from a local distillery called Bainbridge that is just shy of 142p, and I have two obtainium pics that are both above 156.
As far as the series name, I still vote for the suggestion I gave you a couple weeks ago - "shared reviews". It's short, sweet, and to the point of- you are reviewing a whiskey and picking some people to share samples with. Cheers Doc 🥃

Hey Doc! I never had a hazmat whiskey before. Closest I got was 138 Proof on a Jack Daniels' Barrel Proof Rye. Maybe someday I'll find a good hazmat to share as well! Thanks for the video!
It is my first hazmat too. but will be getting another hazmat bottle too. hope it is just as good. I am currently sipping on JDBP rye as well. only 128 proof. Am really enjoying it. good luck on the giveaway. may be your first hazmat. cheers
I have had a few hazmat bourbons and Brandie’s. And have the 22 edition of the cowboy. It was pretty great. Good stuff brother keep it up.
Good stuff! for sure. I really loved the 22 but this one was just a lil more. funny thing is I saw a video yesterday which blinded the 22 and 23 and they choose 22. makes me want to try doing a blind now. lol. cheers

Great review and I will definitely be on the look out for this. The closest to a hazmat I have is the JD SBBP Rye at 139.3 proof and bought it at Spec's when I visited fam in TX. Look forward to add more hazmat on my shelf. Cheers!

You made that bottle sound really good. I've only seen one Hazmat, and it was a light whiskey. Highest proof bottle I have is a 131.7 JD SBBP and it is one I keep for special pours

I don't know if I've ever had one... I bought my father-in-law something when he retired... It was very high proof, but not sure if it made it that high... No idea what it was, but I had a sip of it seven years ago... I should see if he still has it, I doubt he mixes that with his diet gingerale every night...

Ive had a lot of cask strength offerings in whisky but never hazmat. Favorite is actually a Scotch. Octomomore 61.3 abv.

Gilroy, California but I can always order online especially for the cost of GB bottles, will put me in the freeshipping so don't gotta pay those outrageous fees on top of a pricy bottle. Want the Ladybird bottle the most though.

I’ve never even heard of a hazmat bottle. I can’t even say I know how to procure bottles like this. I prefer around 90 proof like 1835 whiskey.
Hazmat come few and far between. That is why this is my first one. But if you enjoy 90 proof you may not enjoy this. I had a few of my friends (not really whiskey drinkers) try this the other day and even-though I tried to warm their palates with lower proofs first, they did not enjoy it. But I love this one. Maybe you will be one of the winner and get to try and discover it that way. cheers

I just bought the Cowboy Bourbon 2022, which is 134.8 Proof. I have not opened it yet. May pick up the 2023 Hazmat, if I can find at MSRP. 🥃
