The sunscreen part could be a cultural thing. In my country Bangladesh a lot of men are against skincare as it's a "waste of time and money" and has nothing to do with their religious beliefs about skincare
@StellaDreami7 I agree with them. Women are restricted, can't wear clothes showing too much but men wear shorts in the summer. A Muslim lady can't marry a non Muslim man but a Muslim man can marry a non Muslim woman, seriously whats that about?

@quzofrommycoke well, seems its ok for men to be altered but not women. And yet, the do goodders say "the quran gives women loads of freedom" what bullshit
But don't you see?Christianity and Judaism both have social and dress codes. In bedoin society, where people tended to be travelers and semi nomadic in earlier times covering while outside the family home full covering the face and hair, and most of the body in general, for protection from the natural environment, as TRADITION it makes sense. In modern society, where we have a bit more control of our environments, no. As hygienic standards for an earlier day and age, sure. Health standards can cause changes in hygienic practices, and between the time of the WRITING of the Qu'ran, which was several centuries after the death of Mohammed, (police and fleas be upon him)(yes, I meant that no typo. A man that justifies sexual intercourse with a 9 year old child. And a religion that accepts it because she had entered puberty isn't in a position to tell me what's right and wrong) The modern Muslim standards for harambee dress are insane. Women have zero rights. They are the ones who are most punished by islam(English speakers unfamiliar, ISLAM translates to English as "submission" the term Muslim literally means "one who submits" women recieve the heaviest punishments for forbidden practices. Men can rape and murder a woman and say "well she was dressed like a whore" and walk away or pay a fine. Its fucked up. Christian and jews though just as fucked in entirely different ways have grooming standards that are just as ridiculous. And im sorry religious people, none of your "holy books" and their religious laws are no more than superstitions and misunderstanding. Why forbid pork and shellfish? Because they are scavengers. Insects and arthropods do eat dead tissue and small microbes. Pigs will eat anything. And they wallow in any kind of mud They can because they can't sweat so it cools the skin. If improperly cooked or stored in the hot desert it goes bad faster than other meats. It can carry parasites and cause great terrible illness. A more primitive understanding of science had no concept of microbes, or the unseen by the naked eye and ascribed it to divine punishment. It's maddening that with all we know and understand that people still cling so fervently to it to the point it's used as a justification for true evil and hatred.
My (Pakistani) university has posters all over stating hadith that prohibit women from applying perfume, befriending guys, and phrases like "hijab is not a choice." As an ex muslim woman, this pisses me off. Even my hijabi friends, who apply makeup and perfume, ignore those posters. One of them even said "where are the modesty campaign posters for guys?" it was always confusing to me that hijabs are used to 'cover a woman's beauty' but whenever a non-muslim woman tries on a hijab (for fun or whatever) the first thing muslims always say is 'you're so beautiful!'
Hijabis will also encourage non-hijabis to wear hijab by telling them how beautiful they are w their scarves !!! While this may be true, the whole point of hijab is to hide a woman's beauty. Female muslim hijabi influencers are often just the same as non-Muslim influencers. They just use halal-ish rules by wearing a scarf AND the most beautiful clothing possible. AND they do a full face of make-up!!! Look up Leena Snoubar (withloveLeena) and the Asad sisters. It's all about consumption, beauty, designer handbags, heels, dresses, etc. So their beauty is very much on display.

As a secret ex-Muslim turned atheist living in Iran, I'm so happy I came across this video. I don't know if you've heard about it or not, but Iran has been very extreme about hijab in the past few years. But I'm so glad to see women my age (22) don't care about hijab and wear whatever they want, even if it costs them and their family's lives. Islam is BS, and I know that I'll face passive-aggressiveness from Islam's die-hard fans and extremists, but I'm so happy to know that there are people who are in the same situation as me. Muslims hate criticism and are blind to the oppression and torture. Also, doesn't Islam say that hijab is to preserve a woman's beauty? Well, that's BS too. My hairstylist and dermatologist (who specializes in haircare as well) say that most hijabi women who visit them have a specific hair loss pattern, and my mom has it too. I'm just glad my parents aren't strict about these rules. They are still strict, being Muslims, but they don't haunt me like a sleep paralysis demon.
I’m so happy for you. I know lots of Iranians who moved to Montreal and I don’t know a single one who wears a Hijab. How they wore mini skirts decades ago and how bad things have gotten since. It’s a bit scary to be because I find the Iranian women I know to be pretty strong headed, they hold their grounds, so I’m surprised men/religion have been able to convince women to follow these strict rules. Iranian women are beautiful and I won’t even talk about your hair, I get jealous!! :-) You deserve to live like you did in the past, free and strong. You guys are so courageous, we admire you. ❤
@@ellaella5537 thank you SO much! Unfortunately, you're right. My grandma said that she never wore any hijab when Reza Shah was the king of Iran, but after the revolution, women were forced to wear one and they even kicked her out of school when she was a little girl and it made her stay illiterate. Religious women nowadays are brainwashed to think they are superior to non-hijabi/non-religious women and tend to forget that at the end of the day, we're all humans and deserve to be treated like one. Thank you so much for your comment. It means the world to us when a non-Iranian person offers their support.
Does he define what he means by "whore," because it's quite ridiculous to make such an assertion based on the traditional understanding of that term. I have worn perfume many times in my life for instance, and I am still a virgin and have never dated.
@rosivalenzuela3955 I've heard something like that too. A guy was doing a sermon and he said "women who wear perfume are whoring themselves" what utter bullshit. perfume, for me completes an outfit. My stepdad told me that, I didn't bother before.
An absurd hatred for women is definitely promoted in the religion, to make them follow the rules so they can be different from those said "whores." It's insane. Ironically the same preachers will preach about sensual "hoors" in paradise, waiting for men, describing their physical attributes in detail. Absolutely insane teachings
I dated a Muslim man from Bangladesh for a while. We got pretty serious. He promised me he wasn’t religious as I do not want to be in a relationship with a religious man. It kind of bothered me that he did Ramadan but he said it was just to remind himself to feel grateful. Still made me uneasy. We talked about marriage and having kids. When he told me he wanted our kids to know about the Koran I had to dip. No no no. It was hard to break up but not for me.

Most gynaecologists say to leave pubic hair alone as it is plays very important role in protecting our very sensitive genitals but islam says “ yo go ahead pluck it all you like”; why? To please men that’s why. Smh. The pubic skin is also very thin compared to our entire body, trimming is considered the most non invasive way to maintain “neatness” if at all; waxing is never recommended by any health professional ever.
Regardless if you like it or hate it, you have never thought to ask yourself why we have body hair! Why does your pubic area grow hair. Surely there is a reason though.
Yeah.. Why did Allah give males foreskin if He thought it was dirty or whatever and wanted them to be without foreskins? Makes no freaking sense. And why would Allah give women pubic hair if He wanted them to constantly remove it?

Circumcision may have been introduced to the primitive, nomadic, Judaic tribes as desert life limited regular bathing. The practice was done away by Jesus' instruction, (who as jew, must have been circumcised as a baby). This instruction to abandon the practice is ignored by muslims, despite the acknowledgement of Jesus/Isa being an important prophet in Islam
I don’t wear makeup, skirts, do anything to my hair except brush it, don't wear perfume, don't shape eyebrows, basically no "beauty" stuff except pluck an occasional chin hair. Never did. However, if anybody told me I had to put a bag over my head to appear in public, I'd be extremely unfriendly. Good thing I'm not religious. I like the sun on my face and the wind in my hair.
Same here. I don’t wear makeup because I don‘t know how to do it and I hate the feeling of it on my face. I do skincare and a really lightweight sunscreen. But you better believe that I would slap ALL the makeup on my face if I was told I wasn’t allowed to because of someone’s religion. Gimme all the sparkly eyeshadow.

"Wearing black" is not an Islamic ruling. It is the tradition of those countries. Those countries are masking these traditions and practices as religion astagfirullah. Islam has never told women "oh you can't wear any colour except black".
Almost all the women in my life ignore the makeup ruling and they also wear nails when on their period bc they cannot pray anyway. I hate these rules, the more rules i interrigated, the less sense the religion made for me, so my life is more rich now that i’ve let go.

This things about perfumes is really weird. Middle Eastern countries have long tradition in perfumery and some of the most valued perfume ingredients are sourced there, not to mention all the modern Arabic Perfume houses!
Mohammed himself absolutely loved perfume & used it all the time, which is why it's permissible for men. But he was also a very jealous and insecure man, so among the things he forbade for women was perfume.
Speaking of not changing Allah's creation, why is circumcision obligatory? Isn't foreskin also Allah's creation? If Allah wanted his followers not to have foreskin, why did he give it in the first place?
And want about female circumcision, female genital mutilation ? Isn’t this REALLY altering Allahs creation? And not just altering Allahs creation but doing serious permant harm to a woman’s body!
Depends on who you ask, circumcision is not actually obligatory. However, it's very cultural around the middle East and the lines between culture and religion are blurred to bits.
As a person growing up in a Muslim household I been struggling a lot recently since I used to believe in the religion so much that I never doubted anything however now that I’m getting to know the other side of Islam I can’t believe how i fell for that bullshit I been following those restrictions since I’m 8 years old like I wear a hijab no nail polish no pluging my eyebrows… I’ll soon turn 18 and that’s when I’m planning on officially talking to my parents and end everything because it would cause me a lot of trouble if I would do that now I’m really worried how they will react though.
Staying safe should be your priority. Only tell them when you think their reaction is going to be okay. You don't owe them honesty if you fear there might be bad consequences. Maybe take a friend with you that you trust if you really want to tell them.
I always thought that girls who wear hijab but also tight clothes polish makeup etc don't actually believe, and just aren't willing to lose their whole community. I just never understood how you can fr believe in islamic hell, and flout the rules. When I believed, I followed the rules, when I stopped believing I stopped.... maybe that's a me thing idk

Idk 🤷♀️ Christians aren't supposed to engage in pre marital sex and some other stuff, but they do it still 🤷♀️. They just believe their god will forgive them.
I was jogging a few years ago and saw a hijabi woman jogging too, wearing ankle length tights, a tight long sleeve shirt and hijab. Everything was covered, but everything was form fitting. Bizarre
I saw a black 20yo in the metro wearing à light pink hijab light pink jellabah... and underneath a white/light pink bra + panties... as she was black the panties and bra just stood out under the very transparent jellabah and she looked like more naked than if she wore shorts and a crop top. But I guess as she was covered it was OK 😂
This is hilarious and sad at same time . I got out of this cult two years ago now . I converted for a man who ended up being an abuser and I feared for my life . He was into boys too ( common in certain Muslim communities ie Afghanistan Pakistan ) anyway my eyelashes were a big topic with the “sisters” in the mosque however my eyelashes were in fact real 😂 they never got over it so they then switched focused to my wearing of colours . I was constantly harassed by the women and I suspect jealousy was a huge problem for them because I saw that most muslim women actually hated themselves deep down and they couldn’t stand my blonde hair green eyes bubbly happy smiley personality because I unlike them hadn’t experienced their miserable existence . I remember cycling to the mosque 😂 well let’s just say they nearly died. The particular muslim community I was in was Pakistani Afghani and Sudanese . The Sudanese women were lovely actually but the Pakistani !!! Viscious
I don't get it... Why would you convert for a man?? This religion is absolute madness, why did you decide to join it?? I hear this over and over again and my mind just cannot comprehend it 🤦🏼♀️
i bet it was enticing for men since it's all male-focused benefits, so they enforced it lol. Even in "heaven", the man can drag his wife into his harem if he so wishes. women apparently have no say in the afterlife too.

Islam actually orders Muslim women to cover all parts of the body including the face. Since the order is so unreasonable for Muslim women to carry out, then a fatwa came out from the previous scholars ordering that Muslim women can wear only the hijab, which is just covering their hair. But some Muslim apologists today insist that the veil is not required by religion, even though they have nothing in their holy text to contradict the passage where Muhammad ordered its use. In fact, verse (24:60) says that the veil is optional only for unmarried women who are too old to have children. And this proves that the covering of cloth in Islam is to avoid the uncontrollable hyper-sexuality of men in the days of Muhammad who passed by when seeing women outside their home.
This is totally incorrect. Surat an nur states: tell the believing women to draw their khimar over their pockets of their chests so that they will be known. There is no command to cover their hair. Khimar was a head piece. Pockets of chest refers to cleavage. Later, we get the command to cover all bodily pockets (vagina and buttocks). The 'known' was understood to mean "free women", therefore the verses here are to distinguish free women from slaves. I could refer you to multiple books of fiqh and hadith which support my argument. The term, " hijab" refers to a barrier, and is only used to refer to women in the verse about the wives of the Prophet.
Veiling applied only to Prophet Muhammad's wives due to their special status. Women cannot cover their faces during the Hajj pilgrimage. Historically, veiling in Islam was influenced by the Christian Byzantine Empire. It became associated with higher status women. This was not the case in early Islam. Read the history of this.

All these rules show that it's not a religion for all of humanity because it fails to take other cultures into consideration. Tattoos are important to many Pacific Islander cultures. Hair experimentation is an important part of black cultures. I sincerely do not understand how a little ink on your dermis and couple of box braids could be considered so evil. Edit: wrote this before the hair dyeing part. That is also another stronger example of this religion not being made for all of humanity. Guess there weren't enough redheads and blondes around to make the ruling more consistent for the seal of religions lol.
This religion was not made to be inclusive. It was made to force others to drop their culture and values and adopt the Islamic one. It's very disturbing when you really think about it.
I don't know why people in this day and age would follow that cult!!! I left years ago and never been happier, there are just so many restrictions and most women I know cherry pick and still do their eyebrows and have hair extensions.
I don't understand the hair covering, like why? Okay covering your breast, because the hijab covers that as well, but the hair? Its just hair and its better for your head to breave and not be covered all the time, modest clothing, sure, but hair, what is not modest about covered and not covered hair? Face is even more crazy for me, the veils.. brr the most crazy and terrible religion. Even nunes in Christianity don't cover their faces, wtf is this religion I do 't understand how any women would convert on their own free will.
I'm sure fear plays a big part of it. Many women have been made dependent on their husband or men in their family, and are afraid to leave. I said this exact thing to a group of men and they got so upset with me. They argued up and down that women beautify themselves strictly to attract men. I told them most men don't care about makeup, lashes, wigs or hair extensions, nails, fashion etc. A attractive woman will get their attention without all the bells and whistles and most men prefer natural beauty. Men don't say, "Wow, I love her makeup, let me get her number" 😂😂😂 rarely happens. Women (including me) dress up to outshine and upstage other women. We want to feel like we're the most beautiful woman in the room.

It’s all about putting onus on women and giving men a power trip. The coverage for women came from an incident of MO’s follower peeping on one of his wives doing her business alone somewhere. Mo found out and declared she needed to cover herself. Why this response? I believe it’s because women weren’t capable of taking power from Mo but men could. Keep the men happy and compliant with Mo. that’s the interpretive key for it all. That’s also why no alcohol or music and dancing: people get rowdy and even flippant about things.. someone questioned MO’s authority and dismissed his authority.. so outlawed! No booze or partying but sex is ok; lots of sex. Why? Men are satisfied but as long as strict control over who has what women is maintained then sec never gets to the point of challenging Mo’s authority

Thank you Mrs. Former Muslima for the research and work. Thanks for the collab. I remember reading about halal nail polish. Wigs are interesting as in more religious Jewish communities wigs can be wore to fulfill the requirement to place something between you and god and show subservience. 6:20 made me laugh.
Jewish women wear wigs scarves or hats so that only their husband will see their real hair, as hair is seen as sensual. The requirement to put something between you and God to remind yourself that god is always above you is only for men, as women are seen as naturally more spiritual than men
I can only speak for myself but over here in the southeastern part of the US, I constantly hear that Islam is a peaceful religion and women wear hijabs because they want to but when I bring up any points of how, at least in Afghanistan in the 70s and 80s, some countries were more progressive as far as women's rights, I get told that I'm a Westerner and I wouldn't understand. My questions were never rude and I always try to be respectful but I absolutely hate the immediate judgement of being a Westerner yet they expect people to never judge them. I just like learning about different cultures but I don't think people like difficult questions. I dunno. Maybe that's just a petty gripe. 🤷🏻♀️
It's easy to lie to people who live in the west bcs they don't see what happens in Muslim countries, and even when you live near a community they can easily gaslight you into 'no no no it's not like this,' which often comes from people having a superiority complex about their religion + not being allowed to question or critique it themselves so any questions are automatically shunned as 'youre uninformed.' P@kistani here and I can tell you 110% there's no concept of women rights in sharia law, just constant brainwashing of women into believing they have some rights. Your weightage in testimony is considered half, you're mandated to be loyal but men can remarry and not give an F and you're supposed to not question polygamy bcs God allows it, you're taught you're intellectually inferior and that if you're a wife you have to be obedient to your husband. It is extremely difficult to take divorce as a woman but men verbally divorce a woman by saying it three times. Many Islamic websites and preachers openly preach all of this, yet people still have the nerve to lie and say everyone is just uninformed.
As for hijab, you're constantly taught that women are supposed to hide their beauty to not be "tempting" to men, and that you're supposed to wear the hijab as a Muslim woman. It's constant indoctrination, but even if someone presumably wears it wholeheartedly, the point is still that they would not have been allowed to dress in a way that's very different from that. There's an extreme hatred of anything "immodest" and when hijab is considered modesty, a lot of things become very immodest by comparison. So it's a one sided "choice" where you can opt into strict dressing rules, but there's no option to not opt in or deviate a lot from them, which isn't a true "choice" at all. If hijab 🧕 is used to cover a woman’s beauty which is her beautiful hair, can someone help me to understand why putting on thick makeup 💄 after is not exposing her beauty? 🤔
You mustn't change what God created, yet you must remove one type of hair and not touch another type of hair, there is one rule for one area of the body and another rule for another so some hair is dirty that God did not think of omitting from creation but condemning you for leaving it and forbidding you from not leaving alone another type of hair

Islam and the whole world tries to stop women to be productive and for women in general being beautiful makes them feel better about themselves however islam is way too restricted and stops women even from feeling beautiful i was very cute when i was born and still i won't say i m not good looking but because i was naturally got fit in beauty standards the hatred i had to face from women since childhood was just so crazy.
Women turning on each other is the worst thing. If we let this happen, instead of being sisters, the men that want to suppress us have already won. So sorry you had to experience this.. 😔
I agree that the whole modern islamic revival is manmade. Muslim peoples did not care too much about this stuff in the past. You can still find Moroccan tribal women with facial tattoos. The hijab became a trend around 20 years ago. It is a symbol; a badge of identity. But 'hijab' as a headscarf is a relatively new concept. Certainly by the period of Ibn Khaldun and Ibn Taymiyyah, women were wearing Iran style jubbas which covered the hair and the body. By this time, the concept of modesty = piety had become established. But this wasn't in early Islam. Slave women were expected to remain uncovered. Perhaps topless even. Women only had to cover their bums and vaginas in front of: Dad; Servants (male and female); brothers; uncles and other women. This is clearly evidenced. The Qur'an does not use the term 'hijab' with regards to women's dress. The term means barrier. The practice of doing the Hajj naked was not prohibitted until the Caliphate of Abu Bakr. Ponder on this (but not too much😊).
@@scarfholdgraphicsmedia9501 I looked up Burka (Afghanistan style) to see how old they were. Turned out they were around long before Islam and came from Pakistan.
@sallyintucson There are no records which accurately describe how Arabian women dressed in the 7th century. It is likely that people wore a form of tunic, a wrap around the body and a head piece of some sort. Some hadith narrations indicate that women wore an outer coat (jalbab) especially at night when they went outside of the town to defecate. My problem with this is that if they were so covered, why go out at night? Pakistan did not exist until after world war 2. The Mughals adopted the Burkha as a way to conceal wealthy wives. It may have been used by courtesans as well. The traditional form of dress in Pakistan was a shawaal khamiz and debutta. The debutta is a loose cloth draped around the head which does not conceal hair. Women in Pakistan did not start wearing the modern hijab until relatively recently and it is still uncommon there. The influence has come from the UK where under Saudi influence, British Asians have adopted the trend.
Muslims in Usbekistan, Kirgizia etc., also didn't care about this stuff 50 years ago but now they are becoming more and more like these strict Arab Muslims

"Removing tattoos costs even more than getting them originally and hurts a lot." I've heard it hurts a *_lot_* more than getting the tattoos originally and bear in mind that laser tattoo removal involves multiple sessions, all of which have painful aftermaths. It may be relatively successful or it may end up leaving a bit of a mess. Islam is not the only religion that says that tattoos are haram, Judaism does also as do some Christian sects. It's called *_appearance control,_* boys and girls. It's never good. If you don't want tattoos, that's fine, that's your choice but it's not fine telling other people they can't have them.
As someone who lives in the islamic ideal society where all of these rules are implemented and anyone who even tries to do something slightly different is harrassed and shamed and even r🍇 in cases because the men see it as you deserving of it if you don’t wear it and that you are asking for it, it was one of the reasons that led me to leave when i realized that my supposed god perpetuates and is pleased and blames us for our abuse and protects our abusers, because victims can never speak up in these societies and cultures.

Hijabis will also encourage non-hijabis to wear hijab by telling them how beautiful they are w their scarves !!! While this may be true, the whole point of hijab is to hide a woman's beauty.

@shieldmaidenforchrist1310 nope, and he said fornicator not whore, to be more precise 😅

I’ve never been Muslim but I’ve noticed this too! It makes no sense to me that they are so “modest” yet so clearly trying to be sexy. They wear makeup that looks more appropriate for a night out clubbing. I just never understood it
Idk 🤷♀️ Christians aren't supposed to engage in pre marital sex and some other stuff, but they do it still 🤷♀️.
Yep. That’s how it looks to me too, they talk about modesty, but put on tons of make up and clothes are form fitting.
Viscious
Yikes!
The.only.power they have is over each other. Its like any oppressive facistic regime. It relies on all policing each other and fear based control.
Thanx for sharing.
I don't get it... Why would you convert for a man?? This religion is absolute madness, why did you decide to join it?? I hear this over and over again and my mind just cannot comprehend it 🤦🏼♀️
Interesting the more light race were the more jelous but the black one has more personality
I cant understand how it even became a religion... why would people want to follow these silly rules?
By forcing and intimidation. Satan's work.
Pmo had the smart ones killed. So artificial selection.
i bet it was enticing for men since it's all male-focused benefits, so they enforced it lol. Even in "heaven", the man can drag his wife into his harem if he so wishes. women apparently have no say in the afterlife too.

@@Witchmee One word: Cult. All religions start out as cults. Merry Meet.
@@scarfholdgraphicsmedia9501interesting that slaves had a different rule applied to them - a less modest one
@@Miriam-qh1so In 2017, al-Azhar university in Egypt decreed that the veil was compulsory for Muslim women... and not even open for debate: "It is not acceptable that anyone from the public or non-specialized people, regardless of their culture, to voice their opinions on the matter."

It seems that Mohamed hated humans, but especially women... it is so sad to see so many people following this evil.
Unfortunately, men miss the point that women often wear make-up for ourselves, not for men. It's a girly thing.
I’m a woman and I highly disagree. If you aren’t going out, or going to be seen, essentially no one would wear makeup. This has been proven to me time and time again by women from all cultures. Why not just admit the truth? That you wear it to look pretty

Right!?! Exactly.
I don’t get the hair dying thing when Muslim men henna their beards - granted they dye it a red colour but surely that’s even more eye catching 🤔 technically they should not beautify themselves for non related women (and men lol)

Even nunes in Christianity don't cover their faces, wtf is this religion I do 't understand how any women would convert on their own free will.
I'm sure fear plays a big part of it. Many women have been made dependent on their husband or men in their family, and are afraid to leave. But why non Muslims would join this death cult baffles me as well. Looking for something spiritual maybe, trying to fill a void. I don't know... Men don't say, "Wow, I love her makeup, let me get her number" 😂😂😂 rarely happens. Women (including me) dress up to outshine and upstage other women. Why arab women need this big controll? Why the men no?
In Afghanistan the men were happy the taliban took over until they started beating the men and telling them they had to wear full clothes no jeans and tank tops ….Google it … it’s the most extreme Muslims who follow all the rules

@@torgostheme Thank you.
Jewish women wear wigs scarves or hats so that only their husband will see their real hair, as hair is seen as sensual.
The requirement to put something between you and God to remind yourself that god is always above you is only for men, as women are seen as naturally more spiritual than men
Thank you for bringing to attention the unfortunate news of what Arab women most specifically Islamic women have to suffer through
I can only speak for myself but over here in the southeastern part of the US, I constantly hear that Islam is a peaceful religion and women wear hijabs because they want to but when I bring up any points of how, at least in Afghanistan in the 70s and 80s, some countries were more progressive as far as women's rights, I get told that I'm a Westerner and I wouldn't understand. My questions were never rude and I always try to be respectful but I absolutely hate the immediate judgement of being a Westerner yet they expect people to never judge them. I just like learning about different cultures but I don't think people like difficult questions.
I dunno. Maybe that's just a petty gripe. 🤷🏻♀️
If pious judging of other people was an Olympic sport, Muslims would win gold, silver and bronze in both men's and women's categories!
Nope, you are in the right.
It's easy to lie to people who live in the west bcs they don't see what happens in Muslim countries, and even when you live near a community they can easily gaslight you into 'no no no it's not like this,' which often comes from people having a superiority complex about their religion + not being allowed to question or critique it themselves so any questions are automatically shunned as 'youre uninformed.'
P@kistani here and I can tell you 110% there's no concept of women rights in sharia law, just constant brainwashing of women into believing they have some rights.
So all you can do is either agree or silently suffer
It's abundantly clear that these rules are nothing more than a form of coercive control practised on women as a whole.

Why do muslim women (and men?) have to remove pubic hair?

The hijab became a trend around 20 years ago. It is a symbol; a badge of identity.
But 'hijab' as a headscarf is a relatively new concept.
Certainly by the period of Ibn Khaldun and Ibn Taymiyyah, women were wearing Iran style jubbas which covered the hair and the body. By this time, the concept of modesty = piety had become established.
But this wasn't in early Islam.
Slave women were expected to remain uncovered. Perhaps topless even.
Women only had to cover their bums and vaginas in front of:
Dad; Servants (male and female); brothers; uncles and other women.
