From what I've seen your shifting backwards, back is up gear and forward is down gear. The trigger is to engage reverse. I would be interested in why your engine blew

@@Kireth I think you'll find 99.9% of people will have it mapped in reverse to what you have. But if it works for you... all good. I just cant watch :D :D
@@Kireth yeah in a real car its pull to shift up and push to shift down, allows you to shift down alot faster becase you can just smash it forward very fast.
It should always be pull to shift up and push to shift down. The shifter should be pushed in the direction the g forces are acting. It’s more natural to pull back to shift up while you’re being pushed back by the acceleration and to push forward to shift down while you are being pushed forward by the g forces

the little trigger could be mapped for either neutral or reverse so if u wreck or something u dont have to bang down thru the gears just pull the trigger and ur either in neutral or reverse

@@2869may real life racing G forces that's why my friend when accelerating weight is pulling backwards therefore shifting is easier pulling back and under braking with weight pushing forwards downshifting forwards is better too, check any real life racing cars

Most sequential shifters are pull back to shift up and push forward to shift down. That being said if you like it who cares what others think, you do you.
Hello, I am currently using the Thrustmaster T80 Wheel. I am considering upgrading to Fanatec dd pro, but considering the price I can buy both psvr2 and also the logitech G923 or similar. Can anyone guide me on this?. I am really confused. FYI, I only play online races and rarely touch the regular cafe menus.
Consider getting a Moza R9 instead. Going from the T80 to G923 isn't a big upgrade if even worth upgrading direct drive wheels are a massive difference in feel and performance. Fanatec has had massive shipping issues so people who bought stuff since black friday last year haven't even got their stuff.

@@aswanthsaikowshik9575 ah well then you gotta go with Logitech or fanatec but definitely fanatec over Logitech as geared wheels have a deadzone in the middle where you’ll miss out on some feedback. Fanatec DD is your way to go.

You mapped it wrong, pull is gear up and push is gear down. You then shifted from 2nd to 1st instead of shifting to 3rd so that's why your engine blew.

Ok, as I do not race cars with a sequential gearbox that uses these motions to change gears, I do however own a EVO X with a dual clutch gearbox that has exactly the same motion to shift gears up and down so I can safely say with certainty that this motion mimics the natural hand movement for accelerating and decelerating, making it intuitive for the driver to shift gears rapidly while maintaining control of the vehicle.
So not only do I find it extremely natural, so does every other OEM like Porsche, Lamborghini, etc and other manufacturers who make sports cars as well.
And I would argue that if OEMs are doing it, it’s also got a safety aspect to it as well but that’s just speculation.
Just look at every race car that has a sequential gearbox and they’ll concur that this motion is best.
