Actually this reminds me, I personally first discovered Chibi through Tokyo Ghoul, blast from the past.
LIke omg I remember watching Chibi's videos before class almost every week as the discussion around the manga would ramp up.
Remakes of anime are really interesting. I feel that the adaptation of JoJo and Hunter x Hunter has got the anime industry to see that people are interested in bringing back old stuff. Stuff like Fist of the North Star and Kinnikuman are getting remakes, and now manga from the 90s and 2000s are starting to get remakes.
The "Hunter X Hunter" remake was 12 years ago.
I don't think that has much to do with it.
I'm pretty sure the studios just want to profit off older anime but it hasn't worked since no one is willing to give them a good adaptation.
Hunter X Hunter isn't one of the best anime for no reason. Besides having a great studio behind it, one of the best manga creators, it also had a tremendous budget.
@@Christopher._M Also the first adaptation wasn't entirely faithful to the manga which is the reason I think tokyo ghoul might get a remake someday of course if it stays profitable till then
I would add full metal Alchemist and fruits basket to the list as well. That being said all of these are years apart so I don't think it's really a part of some trend.
@@Christopher._M It did not have a "tremendous budget". People really need to stop throwing random guesses at how much a specific series cost to make and treat it as factual.
I think TG with the amount of details it has, is a source material that is very difficult to adapt to a good anime. If they are going to do one, I hope they rlly take the time and effort to make a faithful adaptation.
Wit studio if they weren't alr making one piece would be good considering they already did vinland saga and that's heavy on detail
@@oomshaka6683 A good chunk of Vinland Saga's core staff doesn't even participate in Wit projects anymore. Shuhei Yabuta joined MAPPA not long ago and the majority of the rest is affiliated with studio Kafka...

I’m reading Tokyo Ghoul: Re and Choujin X and man, they’re both soooo good. I really wish we’d get a TG anime remake, it deserves more than anything else.
Choujin X is one of my favorite manga rn. If an anime is happening im beyond excited
Same it’s banger rn, especially with the recent chapter, where it almost feels like it’s hinting towards Ely potentially being the one to cause the calamity.
The anime turning TG into a battle shounen is so true. The manga always had that distinct horror vibe and it was often very mature but none of that translated into the anime. But yea, voice actors and music were always top tier in TG and a remake would be a dream come true for sure. TG and Berserk are always the first two series that come to mind for remakes I wanna see the most.
It's not just the anime. The manga turns itself into that as well.
I just don't believe people will be satisfied with what it becomes even if they do remake it.
The first 50-70 chapters of Tokyo ghoul are pretty different to the rest of it.
The best of it was already animated.

If it makes you feel better, Ado (the woman who sung Uta's songs in One Piece Film Red) did a really good cover of Unravel recently. It doesn't make a new Tokyo Ghoul anime more likely to happen (fingers crossed it will happen someday), but it's something Tokyo Ghoul related.

I think the biggest obstacle in the way of a Tokyo Ghoul remake is Sui Ishida's own opinion of it. He considers it a failure, so I'm not sure how receptive he'd be to a remake.

The tokyo ghoul anime had an amazing ost the ops and ends where great anime not so much the tokyo ghoul Manga is very good the art and the elements of horror and just the feeling of suspense and dread is incredible if Choujin X gets an anime adoption and when they get to that one point the Manga it's going to be incredible then there might be a small percent chance for tokyo ghoul to come back with a true anime adaptation

I never read the manga but from my knowledge it's completely different from the anime.
Not sure if remaking it is a good move. I actually did like the anime so I wouldn't be against it

I somewhat still enjoyed the first season of Tokyo Ghoul when it came out, it's with the second season that things got messy, I hope a remake will eventually happen, but I know that won't be anytime soon

Love Tokyo Ghoul to death. But for some reason, I love Choujin X more. It resonates to me more and an overall more fun to read for me. So as much the community wants to have a proper TG adaptation, I'm just here, hoping that Choijin X gets the treatment it deserves. It's a fantastic manga and it more than deserves to be popular

Choujin X had a bit of a dip in quality at one point where it was easy to get confused, but it came back even stronger in my opinion. Would love to see them both get good adaptations.
Oh man I’d love a proper Tokyo Ghoul anime. I have read the whole manga and half of Tokyo Ghoul:re. Still want to finish it someday. I have watched the anime before reading the manga and I liked it although not knowing what was really happening. Also I have to start reading Choujin X. As you said Sui Ishida is also one of my favorites mangakas. I still have vivid memories of Tokyo Ghoul’s panels where Kaneki was tortured and how dark they were

Tokyo ghoul's story is better then jujutsu kaisen imo
Unpopular opinion, but I thoroughly enjoyed both first season and Root A. Granted it was 3 years after I read the manga so I didn't remember most details to feel annoyed by the difference in plot between manga and anime. I rewatched them recently and my feelings still didn't change. Considering that I can't digest most animes after 2017, if I were to judge them as a standalone series, I'd still rate them highly. Maybe not worthy of the manga standard, but most animes that I enjoyed were said to be subpar compared to their source materials anyway.
I didn't touch :Re after the first episode. It was just not a good anime.
Imo. the first season and second season (to some extent) really got the atmosphere of the manga right for the MOST part. I was not a big fan of the rearranged arc in S1 but I do appreciate the few anime original scenes (like the beginning in S1 with Rize) that added some cool ambience to the story.
Since we are talking of remake, now I'm expecting an announce of the remake of Twin Star Exorcist(in my opinion one of the best anime ruined by the production of how the studio decided to change the story from the manga)
I might very well cry if we a faithful remake I’ve been a fan from volume one and even after they butchered the anime I will never stop loving the manga and I love choujiin X so I know it has good source material still waiting for Re zero too though😅🙏

If they do a remake for tokyo ghoul they have to get those mappa animators and directors on that because i feel like some of the cinematography in jjk s2 would match tokyo ghoul like the way they use the "camera" and different "camera" shots and agles also the sound and things like that

Samr here. Tokyo Ghoul made me buy all 14 volumes of Tokyo Ghoul:re and got sad at how the anime ruined this masterpiece
As a fan of the Manga, Tokyo Ghoul is a brilliant story that MUST be told properly! It DESERVES the anime reboot treatment! DONE RIGHT! I personally think Mappa would do a PERFECT job adapting Tokyo Ghoul! Since Tokyo Ghoul is more of a dark fantasy series, Mappa can pull it off! If not them, or least a studio who can do Tokyo Ghoul's dark setting right! And for those who haven't read the Manga, trust me. It gets pretty graphic and shocking! And the foreshadowing, build up and pacing of the story events are brilliant! Ishida really knows his stuff! And the anime butchered it. In fact, Ishida has really went on record saying he didn't appreciate what the anime did to his source material. Tokyo Ghoul deserves a second chance!

This could just be me not reading a lot of manga recently but I also feel like they’re starting to run out of “good” manga to adapt. Like sure I bet there’s some good stuff out there that hasn’t gotten an adaptation but think about the amount of anime adaptations that suffered because of the story being rushed and bad animation. I think they’re gonna start relying on being back some older stuff that is good but just didn’t get to cook in the oven enough

I’ve been saying for years, Tokyo Ghoul needs a HxH or Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood treatment, like seriously.
Anime that I want to get remakes/continuations:
-Air Master
-Claymore
-Rosario Vampire (both manga season 1 and season 2)
-Negima (and UQ Holder once it finishes)
-Campione
So far, anime remakes have been pretty good. The only ones I can think of that have had issues are:
1) Shaman King: paced way too fast and despite looking good had rough animation so it ended up lesser than the original anime
2)Trigun Stampede: from my understanding the show is actually good, but that doesn't change the fact they changed a lot of things and didn't give fans a direct adaptation of the manga (and stating there was no reason to due so when that is pretty much the POINT of anime.
Also people have had some issues with the Rurouni Kenshin remake but the reception seems to be far more positive overall.
Guys, it's very simple One Piece is the best-selling manga in history, the Netflix series punctured the bubble, so with all this in mind One piece can sell A LOT, there is a lot of money circulating because of One piece, so the industry decided that One piece is the honorable One to receive a Remake.
Fingers crossed for a Tokyo Ghoul remake. In a similar vein can we get a manga faithful remake of Deadman Wonderland please?
