    One thing you missed out on, during Jason’s torture of Kaneki in the manga Kaneki’s hair shift was more gradual with him slowly having his hair turn gray the more he was tortured. Whereas the anime had it change instantly upon accepting his ghoul half

      Not defending it, like at all, I fucking hate the changes the 2nd season had over the manga version, but it could've been a good what-if if Kaneki joined Aogiri to get inside intel so that he could get to the doctor that planted in him Rize's organs and after that destroy or severely hinder Aogiri's plans. If they had the balls to do an scenario like this, it could've been at least excusable, but nah, Ken just joins Aogiri for the lols and he spends most of the anime just being a moopy brooding moron. Good job you hacks

    7:14 one issue, in manga it says humans do indeed have RC cells as well. But ghouls have higher RC cells than humans, about 3 times that of a human so the RC scanners go off if a precense with a high RC rate goes through the scanner

    one of the most crucial scenes in the entire manga has to be the scene in tokyo ghoul:re, where after a completely devastating loss, kaneki is left at the brink of death. he is humiliated, he is told to his face that he has lost it all, and he is left in an immobile state with no way to escape in the moment. the best part about this is that ishida uses this as an opportunity to bring kaneki's whole character full circle by having a meeting happen between all versions of kaneki. in an amazing panel, we see kaneki's current state, with all of his past personas standing over him, wondering where they went wrong to end up here. it is so surreal to see how every version has their own mindset and really demonstrates how much of a complicated human being kaneki is. does it happen in the anime? i dont know, i didnt watch past a few episodes of :re cuz of how horrible it was and i certainly dont want these amazing scenes ruined for me in a bad adaptation. point is, ishida is a genius and uses so many amazing opportunities to bring about interesting characters that feel alive and not just 2D edgy characters. i love this series and hate how the anime turned out, really hoping for a remake someday.

    Where you were describing the ending of the Tokyo Ghoul manga, you left out and mixed up quite a lot of things. Kaneki fights Amon in both the anime and manga, though in the manga after being heavily injured and entering a Kakuja state, Kaneki wanders down into the underground tunnels he originally trained with Touka in. He finds Hide down there, where they have a heartfelt moment, before Hide asks Kaneki to eat him to survive. The scene cuts to black, as Kaneki describes the taste of blood in his mouth, before he encounters Arima in the tunnels surrounded by the corpses of ghouls that had tried to defend Anteiku before trying to escape though the tunnels. The tunnels were designated as an escape plan to the ghouls in case they need to escape, also Kaneki percieves the corpses as flowers for a brief moment before realizing they're his dead allies. After that, the scene cuts off, and we're left to assume that Kaneki was killed by Arima in the tunnels.
    In the anime however, after being injured in his battle with Amon, Kaneki flees the raid leaving his friends to die, and in the aftermath he meets Hide in a coffee shop. Kaneki and Hide share a similarly heartfelt moment before Hide dies due to prior injuries he sustained during the raid. Kaneki then carries Hide's body to the CCG before being presumably killed by Arima as the screen goes blank. The battle in the anime you're referencing at the end of the video happens during Tokyo Ghoul: Re btw.

    The Arima vs Kaneki fight happened like this.
    So in the anime when Kaneki fights Amon it was way different than the manga fight. In the manga Amon gets the “Arata”( or sth like that which is a body armor, the same was used to fight Kuzan). Kaneki still beats him but turns into his centipede form. He also rips an arm out of Amons body. The bigger difference from the anime is that he doesn’t fight Arima right away. So in the anime right after he beats Amon, Arima arrives, however in the manga version Arima has been deployed in the underground tunnels or to be precise at the v14 tunnel(?). Kaneki escapes the rest of the doves meets Hide in the tunnels, eats a part of his face and neck( this is shown later in :re when we see Hide’s scars. In the manga we only see Hide trying to calm Kaneki down and then we cut off to Kaneki being alone). After that Kaneki goes to v14 that being the part where tunnels from the 20th ward intercept. There he sees the flowers and that kind of stuff, but that turns out to be only his imagination. What lays before him is all the ghouls who tried to escape. There he has his first battle with Arima and loses badly.

      @CoffeeOverApples  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! I would say the answer depends on what kind of anime you watch. If you liked the anime or if you prefer horror in general this is a fun way to go. This manga is a bit hardcore on the gore and is the kind that leaves you with more questions than answers so you need some patience to get through the series. For your first manga I would always suggest a oneshot (standalone) or short series so you don't have to get too invested to start. My favorite short series is Planetes by makoto yukimora. If thats too scifi and you want something sweet instead Wish by Clamp is 4 volumes. 👍🏼
