Thanks again for watching and make sure you post again sometime before the year is over to let me know you're still watching.

    Going to build for the first time my roof patio. This hip roof is the best instructional video. Hey i might as well get into roof business later on.
    Or build garage separate for my tools.
    I am glad channels are available compare back in the old days. Gotta go work for some company just to get the practice. Now you can make your mistakes at home and learn to perfection. Then if you are on a permit free state, just grab your truck and start selling and posting. Become self-employed.

    I have a 44ft horizontal house, I am wanting to put a upstairs room in the center, what pitch would i need?

    • @gregvancom
      @gregvancom  4 роки тому +1

      A four and 12 roof pitch is nice, but if you live in an area where it snows it might need to be steeper. I cannot provide you with the perfect roof pitch, but might suggest looking around your neighborhood or other homes to figure out what type of roof pitch might be desirable for your project.

    So for a 10ft wide building a 6:12 pitch only has a center height of 2.6ft? That is hardly any slope! Which pitch roof would have a central stud of 6ft for a 12ft building width?

    • @gregvancom

      It's an easy number to work with in feet, but since it's a ratio, you can use 4:12,8:24 or even 2:6 if that makes sense.

    • @gregvancom

      I had to put that bouncing ball in, because viewers were complaining that they couldn't see my mouse arrow, which probably means I should go a little slower or put a couple of Pac-Man characters in the videos to chase the yellow ball around.
