I just realized this is more Jeep than an ACTUAL Jeep.
Actually mahindra got license to build jeep copys after the war, so its an exact copy of the jeeps from that era. So it is a jeep. Just like every other car maker one to copy a jeep.
you can check out Mahindra Thar, that's amazing too with some more vehicles like Scorpio, Bolero, XUV etc....
@@anibalbabilonia1867U r right. I believe it's a copy of Willis's Jeeps .
@@anibalbabilonia1867 Mitsubishi did the same thing with the CJ3b. I had a 1986 CJ3b copy when I was stationed in Okinawa.
You obviously don't believe in automotive progress and technology.
It's a Fact that Mahindra owned the rights to build Jeeps Decades long before Chrysler even bought the Jeep Brand, So the reality is The Roxor is the Real Jeep,
I totally agree!
Yup, the Mahindra is more a real Jeep than the Jeep brand.
Mahindra isn't just a Tractor Company they make great SUVs and Off-roading Vehicles. Many Mahindra SUVs here in SA.
haha... Enzo ferrari also said the same words... now you can see lamborghini every where.. 🤗🙏.. live in future bro..
They make very good trucks as well.
Hi, just wanted to ask, would the Thar be a solid reliable vehicle in SA? Parts, spares and all that is easy to source? Can it be counted on for really remote, middle of nowhere, go anywhere kinda vehicle? Should i just get one?
They have trucks too
@@Dizzyish you can search about thar by checking out videos and reviews by indian reviewers, Autocar India would have done it, also there you can find people who actually can give you better information regarding your queries.
I own a Mahindra Roxor. Its a practical vehicle for me. I used it onroad, offroad, sometimes pulling a trailer carrying construction stuff ,also a water tanker 1500 litres. For 2 years no problem at all.
Hi
@@rajuhindu5977
Bye
party again
Super bummed out that Jeep went after Mahindra. Jeep, just Mahindra alone and let them make a awesome vehicle you'll never make. Your Roxor is awesome!
@scissor hanz They dont actually compete with jeep but ok
The 2021 model year was approved for them to be able to start selling again. It wont look as much like a jeep anymore though.
@scissor hanz Well FCA sells Korean and Japanese cars under their own brand name. So it throws your opinion out the window.
@Prashant Balhara search it on line .
mahandria has the rights to create one of the old military jeeps. They brought the rights many many years ago and just recently started producing them. The jeep brand was owned by a different company back then a f that's why jeep is going after them
Technically, it's descended from the original Willys Jeep that modern US jeeps are descended from - but Mahindra's jeep has had a parallel evolution in India
Thanks for the info
Mahindra actually makes from small power generators to aircraft worldwide. In India mahindra is known for its SUVs and MUVs. Yes Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the world.
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing
Mahindra is making Aircrafts? Im from India and its the 1st time I'm hearing about it
I am from India. My dad had a Mahindra MM540 in 1995. It came with original Jeep branding (on the fender) straight out of factory because it was licenced from Jeep to be built in India by Mahindra. I still have the photo of it. Later Mahindra removed the Jeep branding, I don't know why. Then came Thar DI and Thar CRDe (for India) and this, Roxor (for North America), both without any Jeep branding. MM540s were one of the best vehicles built by Mahindra!
Love the old Mahindra jeeps! I prefer the old thar and mm540/550 ! The new thar is not so capable !
@@shankarwain4289 the new Thar is more a lifestyle vehicle.
@@Quancept agree ! It's not a workhorse or something which you can drive to the mines ! Remember how those good old Mahindra Jeeps were used in tea plantations and resorts ! The new thar for me is just too cosmetic ! Neither the new Thar nor the wrangler show me the real meaning of a "JEEP"! The new Thar might be safe but I don't see that utilitarian stuff anymore! This is something which happened even with the land rover defender ( just compare the good old defender with the new one) ! The only last 4x4s to have that utilitarian nature is the land cruiser 70 (not to be confused with the land cruiser 200) which is sadly not sold in India ! At least I want force motors to make the Gurkha utilitarian !
@@shankarwain4289 I agree with you about the new Thar, but not the Wrangler. They are still awesome, especially the Rubicon variant. I mean thinnk about it. It still comes with a solid axle in fornt. Thats amazing, isn't it? What made all this old Mahiindra's and CJ's were the massive low-end torque. The trade off was obvisouly top speed, but who cares about speed on a jeep? I wish Mahindra bring back the Thar DI( or m2Dicr) version so that we can still buy a true jeep.
@@Quancept yes I agree that the wrangler is having a front solid axle , disconnecting sway bars ,etc , things which common people don't understand plus some stupid Mahindra fanboys but the new jeeps are having a week chassis and their payload is as low as 612 which is low for a large vehicle ! The gladiator though has a 1000 kilo payload which is great ! Plus jeeps have reliability issues which I am not sure about! But believe me I love jeep wrangles ! And love the way you think also ! But mostly my preference is an old defender or a land cruiser 70! Because payload is important for me !
Got a 2011 Wrangler and had a Suzuki Samurai years ago. I could never afford another Jeep (got mine on an $18000 liqidation sale). So It's nice to know that an affordable alternative is available, Hope India forgives Trudeau for his botched Bollywood audition and starts importing them to Canada.
That’s cool wranglers are also great
Already available in Canada. Right now, they're on a break. www.roxoroffroad.ca/
Yep, got mine in Canada 2 years ago. My dealer has bunch in stock.
Whole bunch in perth Ontario, just search it up on kijiji

Mahindra & Mahindra vehicles are the favourites of villagers in India, because they never breakdown and just keep going on and on forever. Also, the original jeep had given licence to Mahindra & Mahindra after WW II to manufacture the jeep. And they were made in hundreds of thousands in India by Mahindra for Indian army for decades. Thus, you will find tons of these old jeeps in India. Very popular in India. Now Mahindra has brought out a larger off roader called Thar. (Thar is name of desert in state of Rajasthan, India). Thar is excellent vehicle that would give Jeep Wrangler a tough time in off roading, and it looks as beautiful as Wrangler.
Indian company with great legacy. It's not only tractor company
well it was first started as tractor company
Same like Lamborghini!! Started as a tractor company too XP
@@harshithsadhana7475 no it didn't started as a tractor company. It started by making CJ3B which is a off-road capability car.. it came into tractor business quite late
@@harshithsadhana7475 Was founded in 1945 to trade steel. Didn't start making tractors until 1982.
Ok😂😂
Love your Roxor, that would be perfect for these Pennsylvania hills 👍
Thank you it’s a great ride!
But I amazed why it's not available in India 🙄🙄🙄..It's look old authentic pocket jeep..
Just remember 2 things.
1) the front end had to be changed due to FCA law suits
2) parts for the CJ5 will fit the ROXOR with little to no modifications
Im certain you can swa the grill out and get the jeep look again.
Love mine up in Canada. Keep on Roxin'!!!
Looks like the grill retails for around $300. I really like these and in most ways they are more of an authentic Jeep as per the original Willys/Ford than later Mopar offerings. This company and others were given permission long ago to build true to spec jeeps during or after WWII. Unlike Mopar, they just kept building them. This is a beautiful brand new Jeep built by another company. And since it's just as tough but basic as the original, its priced accordingly. A great deal. As she says, its sold as an off road vehicle only in the USA. That's why it has no airbags, etc. But you can pay to convert it to street legal depending on laws in various states. Thanks for sharing your awesome new Jeep/Roxor.
Once you start adding options and making it road legal, it's a pricey side by side...
You get more value by buying a CJ 5 or CJ 7 in good condition.
@@teop7887 there’s still the advantage of having brand new technology particularly in the turbo Diesel engine so I can understand why someone would want one but I’ll stick with my 46 cj2a just as a personal preference
Mahindra is an 80 year old company, well respected in India.....largest farm tractor maker in the world
That Roxor looks so fun!
It’s a blast!
In around 1982 Mahindra had a display at the L.A. Auto Show. They had an olive drab military model with a Peugeot Diesel engine, machine gun mount and mortar shell mount. If I hadn’t just bought a car, I would have bought one. It was really inexpensive too; not sure what the price was, but it seems like it was around $3K or $4K.
There is a company that if you send your ecm to them it will double the power and double the speed (70) for the road
Any tuner can do that where you di t have to send the ECM in.
I wish we had Roxor back here in India, Instead, we have a Mahindra Thar but Roxor seems a lot FTD!
Fun fact Mahindra is more Jeep than the Jeep itself. They're licensed and are making these and many Other SUVs for 75 years now.
Reminds me of my old military Willy’s I had. Looks kind of like a Willy’s and CJ5 had a baby. The Diesel engine is awesome in these.
That's because it is a military jeep. Mahindra & Mahindra bought a licence for it in the 1940's.
Willys, CJ5, and CJ7 parts bolt directly to the Roxor thanks to Mahindra having the license. The best part is, many states allow this to become road legal with a road legal kit adding turn singals to the front. Rear already has them just not wired in. You can unlock the ECM to hit 70mph without issue.
Theres a guy who lifted his and put i believe CJ7 locker kit with a road legal kit. Painted it to look like a willys jeep. Not many people noticed the difference overall.
We're glad you are enjoying it Bridget, awesome video!
Now i realized why jeep fca jealous now days😂😂😂😂
Jealous of an overpriced side by side that is not even road legal, unless modified?
Pff... Sure.
@@teop7887 road legal everywhere except US coz Jeep is salty
@@dv9239
No, because it is sold as a side by side, and if it wasn't for Jeep's licensing to build them looking like jeeps, no one would give a damn about them.
They exploited the Jeep look for decades, and when they decide to bring it to the US, they dare violate the Jeep trademark?
It may be road legal in backward 2nd and 3rd world countries, not in the modern world.
@@teop7887 they bought the rights from Willy's 🤔
And can keep the iconic look just like Jeep still uses it
@@dv9239
... Jeep and Willy's were one and the same, I have no idea what you're talking about.
As for Mahindra, yes, OUTSIDE of the US, not in the American market, hence why FCA won the lawsuit.
Nice and natural review!! I just drove a Mahindra THAR in India - and it beyond ROCKS!!! Incredible stuff from Mahindra
Love from India 🇮🇳
Loving mahindra roxor
Thanks for watching!
One of the best Roxor videos on UA-cam.
Just became a roxor owner today, did not want to stop driving it.
Love riding up there. After you cross the first water instead of going left take the road on the right and take it all the way up on the mountain it's a beautiful ride and gives you a great view of the desert
I’ve been that way too it’s a beautiful spot
Keep that positive smile and vibe on you all the time . That’s one thing people are missing these days !
Mahindra & Mahindra is an Indian Automotive company making Trucks, Tractors, SUVs and Jeeps. They are also into military hardware. I have a Mahindra Bolero GLX 4x4 since 2005. Its a on-road off-road hybrid. It has the convenience of a car and do off-road as well. Damn reliable and rugged beast.
Great video, also in Utah. I've had my 2020 Rox since Dec 2020. Found a forum with other Rox owners. Been very helping in upgrading it. (Team Roxor Forum) Many other Utah owners as well.
Congratrs 👏on ur purchase, I'm located in the east and i never heard of this Jeep. I must say it looks great I personally would have no problem driving ur rig.
Great 4 x 4, love the color.
Unfortunately I can't drive anymore legally blind in one eye and my other eye is blurry.
SHARE this video how Bridget grow her channel.
Sorry to hear that but thank you so much for saying you’ll share!
In india mahindra used to make willy CJ3A and we called it jeep back then.
Since people started to buy old jeeps and converted them into some exotic vehicle equipped with big fat tires, mahindra launched a better version for them called thar.
Now the recent upgraded thar is what people love. It makes 140bhp and around 300nm.
It looks good and can be used as a daily vehicle.
The absolute coolest part of this video is a young lady liking the Roxor coz it's "old school" Your awesome Miss Bridget :)
I love it, and so affordable not all of us can shell out 40K for a new jeep this a fantastic alternative. Your Roxor is gorgeous and so practical congrads on the build , this is exactly what a ton of people are looking for.
Surprised you don't have more subscribers by now you're a badass! enjoy the vids
I appreciate that, please spread the word!
I think more than everything, you look happy. That positive energy is contagious. I like it.
And oh, you can add "More reliable than Jeep to your list". of course, won't cost an arm and leg to fix it.
You make that little thing look so big! I've been looking at getting a roxor for a couple years now, a boat had to come first though....
WHAT A GREAT REVIEW!
Livin the dream Bridget, looks like a lot of fun in that beautiful back country! Btw, I was reading that the Roxor made by Mahindra is very similar to the Jeep willys because of a license to use their (Jeep) design. I'd like to see more of you doing some off-roading videos in your rotation. Congrats.
Hi, a little late to comment but i just ran across your comment now of all times.
Yes, you heard that right. MAHINDRA actually has a license for production of these great machines from the original parent company owner WILLEY's. They had it way before CRYSLER FORD had the actual 9wnership transfer
That’s a cool buggy 🤙hope you have good luck with it!
Very cool, I'm going to check these out.
love your Roxor
Hey bridgette. Enjoy your ride. All wishes from the Indian jeeping community.
You can give this jeep to your great grand children’s .
U r reallly good at explaining everything as a user.👍
That means a lot thank you!
@@BridgetFabel i couldn't believe u replied to my comment.....u made my day
Mahindra in India, along with Tata, have been defining off-roading from ages, and yes this thing explored mountains, swamps, deserts and yeah most important, the battlefield
The salt FCA has from this vehicle is enough to fill the Dead Sea.
hehe
El oh el
True. They sued over the grill and won. Overall, thats all they won. Many people take CJ7, willis and other jeep models parts and throw then at the roxor. Can get lockers, lifts, hitches, bumpers, ect off the jeep aftermarket.
What is the full form of FCA?
It's truly disgusting that FCA is allowed to get away with this. Mahindra had completely legal and legitimate license to make Willy's Jeeps
Very cool. Reminds me of my 1986 CJ7, the last AMC Jeep to be made and it had no bells and whistles, similar to this, but of course without a diesel. Nice thing about these rigs with no technology is that there is little that can go wrong.
The Roxor can accept parts from a CJ7. Cj5 and Willys. Its one bad rig once the ECM is unlocked hitting 70mph
So true! They are simple and built to last
Only downside is those old CJ’s are just that… old
Like the idea of basically a brand new CJ
I love it :) You're awesome. I have a 2000 Wrangler and I love it too. Love to have one of these as well.
Love your Roxor! I got a 2019 and have really enjoyed it. A few things I would recommend for anyone considering getting one is getting some aftermarket shocks like a set of Bilsteins and getting a set of manual front hubs and a differential locker. The shocks make the ride so much better and the manual hubs take a lot of strain off the steering when you don't need the 4x4 engaged.
Thanks for the chanel! I have a Mahindra Pikup s6 Karoo double cab 4x4 and it's amazing! I go everywhere my Ford Ranger went and as far as my Landrover Defender went wi the amazing reliability, economy and comfort. It cruises happily and quietly at 120km/h and gets around 8.6l/100km at that speed. It can easily get u to 180 km/h but feels unstable at anything over 160 km/h. It Carrie's 980kg in the bin which is deep spacious. It's never let me down in 140000km of Southern African potholes tar roads, corrugated gravel roads, soft sand tracks and mountain goat tracks. Simply fantastic. I bought the vehicle standard at 359000 ZAR and upgraded the poor quality tyres and shocks at another 20000 ZAR. I've alo installed towbar and thar cost 5700 ZAR new. Best value for money to do the job. I love it! Extremely comfortable with chains chairs and spacious cabin.
Mahindra makes great SUVs in india .
Can't agree, except for the thar!
Dang...not quite sure how I ended up here...one of those rabbit-hole trips but I want a Roxor now. great vid by the way.

it also owns Pininferrina
Loved the video.
Thank you 🥳
I love Roxor
Thank you mahindra
In India we call this vehicle as the Jeep. We do not know any other Jeep. We do not even call it Mahindra. I am talking about how it was 30 years ago when i was a youngster (though this vehicle has been in the market since the 1940s). Back in those days there were cars, and there were Jeeps. Cars were meant for the cities. Jeeps for the rural areas (because there were no roads lol). We did not realize that Jeep was a brand name. And also Mahindra is not just a tractor company. They build all sort of automobiles. This is THE workhorse vehicle of India if you ask anyone from the past generation, especially from the rural areas. Known for its reliability and capacity to take on abuse.
Thanks for loving our Indian jeep🙏❤️
Love it! Rugged, fun, cool! I want one!
Very nicely explained, loved the video 😀
Thanks so much!
Great video. You remind me of a younger Goldie Hawn.
Awesome video!!!
That is so cool!
How cool..back in india I had Mahindra Thar..then I came to US for further studies and work...and finally I'm goin to buy this
That’s awesome!
On the east coast these things start at 16 and go to 21 grand. Here is WV we can drive side by sidez on the road now so I am really considering one of these.
Real essense of jeep is in this one ❤️
Great video Bridget don't forget spare gas cans and spare water mounts
I will add it to my list thank you
Great Video !
I have a 2019 and a 86 cj7. The roxor will crawl around so much better than the cj. the cj I did mod with a 350 chev and it sits mostly. The roxor has been chipped and has hit 80 according to my gps. I love the ability of that little diesel to idle around and will climb without any throttle input at all. You can't kill it in low range, low gear. Other than chipping it I did build an extended cab with cj windwhield and rollbar off a 77cj. The body of a roxor measures out the same as a cj as does the wheel base. Same as the 77 before they widened the stance of the later cj's. Roxor is more fun for the buck. Might add, mine is fully plated road legal.
NICE ADDITION
Have the same windshield on my roxor and it rattled the same way. I put a rubber grommet over the nut that hits the frame. Been rattle free ever since.
Thanks for the info I’ll try that
Love Mahindra

@@BridgetFabelwhere they are ??
I want one so bad. Looks so good, esp. in red.
Well mahindra is also in armored vehicles market. And also there trucks and engines are used in indian army exhaustively.
Roxor is a nice and basic Jeep type vehicle which shares the same DNA as the original Jeeps. Mahindra has been making these under license in India since 1947. Most of us who lived in rural areas here in India have always had some kind of diesel powered Mahindra Jeep around. In the 1980’s there came the gasoline/ petrol powered Suzuki Samurai who came along to give some competition. This is the favourite of the armed forces and police even now. Now mostly enthusiasts own and keep it as an off road toy. The samurai is great but the India utility market is a Diesel market. This Roxor is like the Jeep YJ,TJ, CJ series with that curved bonnet hood and all. We had these as the MM540, 550 and Thar here in India. So the Mahindra Jeep legacy goes on, in the form of the new Thar. Mahindra was always about utilitarian cues. Made for the people by the people. It is only now that hey are getting into the affordable lifestyle market here in India. The Roxor is not at all one of these pretentious modern SUV type things. Nowadays these new Jeep Wranglers and Landrovers are made for the rich wannabe city slicker poseur Jack’s and not the utility focused rural people who will actually use it and get it nice and dirty. The Roxor is as simple as it gets. And it is priced nicely. So go out and buy it. It won’t let you down because it has relatively few electronics and gizmos.
Thanks for all the info in your comment!
It's really far better, reliable then any other gas off road vehicles..
I agree!
Haha the mods dude, can’t get enough!
