This is not an ad, I bought these headphones with my own money, I meant to say that in the video, but I forgot.

Been daily driving the M50X Bluetooth version by Audio Technica for the last year and half, some amazing headphones! Don’t sound any different from the regular m50x’s and can also be wired when you’re needing it - also comes with a mic built into the cable so for voice chats is great

Generally, bluetooth headphones will prioritize one device if it's paired to two different things. It depends on their own software, but usually it depends on the order you connect to the device. They will also prioritize "call mode" in all cases.

I converted from the M50X to the Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X, and I couldn't be happier. Everything that bugged me about the M50X has been fixed in the DT 700 PRO X. The M50X is a fantastic headphone, and I do miss a few features from them, but between the two, the DT 700 PRO X takes the cake for me

Can I mention, that I have Steel Arctis 7X. I plugged the USC receiver into my steam deck and it worked great. I have not tried the mic on that yet, but I guess it will work. Just while I am here, your videos are great. I only got my steam deck a few days ago and it's the most excited I have been since my xbox series X. At the age of 54 I still love all there is about gaming and your are great for keeping me up to date with it all. Thank you.

Personally I think the Anker Soundcore Life Q30 and the newer Q35 are better options. The Q30's got for £79 here in the UK and I think are around $79 in the US. For Bluetooth headphones they have great battery life with 40hours using noise cancellation, take 5 minutes to charge to a capacity of 4 hours, have great noise cancellation. They are a fraction of the cost of more expensive equivalent headphones by Sony, Bose, Beats etc. They would make great headphones for the Steam Deck.

The problem I am having is that I mostly play docked and use a headset via BT. If I have to talk I need to walk 3 meters away and stand in front of my Steam Deck and then go back to the sofa and resume gaming 🤣

I’ve got a pair of Meze 99 Classics. Love them. They have a very relaxed sound which I think is great for handheld gaming. But wires aren’t great for portability. I have an old pair of Marshall MIDs and a pair of TWS earbuds but I’m reluctant to pair them with the deck, since they are used on other devices as well.

Saw this video and decided to pick up a set of the M50X. Also picked up a set of gel 30mm cups. OMG, what a combination. First thing I listed to was Valhalla Calling the Trio version. Base is off the chart as well as the mids and highs. Two thumbs up twice for this video and your recommendation of them. Your sir, now have a new subscriber from this recommendation alone.

Why would you design it to turn off the built in mic when you plug in headphones at a hardware level

I noticed you wearing them on Stadiacast. :) I had to search my Amazon orders to find that I picked up the orange and blue model back in 2014! I can’t believe it’s been that long. Absolutely love them!

koss ksc75's. they fit in your pocket, are $20, good left right separation (useful for gaming), and are open you so you can game and hear what happens around you. if you just want to play solo games and block out outside sounds, i would simply go for an iem since they are more portable and have the popular bassy and highs sounds signature. which ones you ask, the $10 edx pro's from kz. not even kidding. one honestly doesn't need much more than that.

I have Audio Technica PDG1. I got open-back because I need to be able to hear myself speak or I end up shouting into the mic. I also appreciate the detachable cable since both OEM cables eventually failed at the volume control. The OEM ear cups were garbage as well.

All my friends complain about hearing all my buttons pressed from the internal mic, apparently the back paddles are louder than me. I really want a headset w a working mic on sd.

I love to play on my 7Hz Timeless. The only annoying thing is the buzzing noise when having headphones plugged in and charging atvthe same time

I have two sets of Nokia 905 Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones that I use for almost everything; my phone, my PC, and now my Steam Deck. They're comfy, the ANC is bloody excellent, and I can use them wired

I've been trying for days to figure out why I can't get my mic recognized while playing SWBF 2 with my brother via Xbox game pass on the steam deck. He plays on his Xbox. Any ideas?

Bill, have you tried the Steelseries Arctis 3 Bluetooth headphones? I originally bought them for my Nintendo Switch, but they are excellent for SteamDeck. The highlight of these headphones is they do simultaneous wired and Bluetooth. So for online play, I plug them into the SteamDeck and then Bluetooth to my phone to voice chat via Discord.

What ear cups did you replace the original ones with?

Funny enough, every friend of mine that used a headset broke it and is now using proper headphones and a cheap external mic. Personally I always used studio headphones (beyerdynamic dt 990 pro) and never had a problem, over 10 years and still going.

Have you had any issues using the AirPods Pro 2 with the Steam Deck OLED? I just received my OLED and tried my Pros 2 with it and they worked at first, but now everything I pair them, the audio clips, crackles and cuts in and out weirdly. Not a huge deal, but sort of a bummer for the times I want to play at night while laying in bed and would want the least bulky ear buds/phones for silent playing.
