      Troy lee Stage is really nice as are all of them. Sometimes it just depends on personal fit. Thank you for watching!

    Cool Vid Bro. Good info on the helmets.. but, the best part of the video was your POPS. Now I see where you get your cool personality and sense of Humor..

    My money maker is much lower than yours LOL. Great review. A lot of people I ride with use the Fox Proframe and they love it. I'm currently using a Bell Super DH, but I need something with better cooling and less weight. I'm leaning towards the Fox Proframe or the Troy Lee Stage.

      They both seem to vent well with the Stage being lighter and maybe a bit more airy. All are great lids.

    Check out the IXS Trigger FF. Ratchet system on the back like a half shell is key for a secure fit. Fidlock buckle, too.
    Out of the helmets you have there, I like the Proframe. The one I tried out a while back fit my noggin really well.

    • @StraightLine_MTB
      @StraightLine_MTB  3 роки тому

      Proframe was great aside from the MIPS liner scraping...but that could just be a sizing issue. They are all great.

    • @mtbohana
      @mtbohana 3 роки тому +1

      I wish the IXS Trigger had MIPS. Its the only negative of the helmet, but a big negative.

    • @skullsroad3642
      @skullsroad3642 3 роки тому

      @@mtbohana I don't really believe the mips hype. It makes sense if the helmet is super tight to your head and allows for zero movement unless you have mips. Every helmet has rotational slip built right in.

      IXS Trigger FF is really good.
      Fox ProFrame is garbage, the chinbar quickly detaches upon impact.

    I’ve heard the mainline is very very noisy and it’s especially annoying because it’s right by your ear.

    • @StraightLine_MTB
      @StraightLine_MTB  2 роки тому

      I too have heard reports of that as well. One reviewer said that the noise lessened after riding with it for a bit. Wondering if you could narrow down where the sound is coming from and fix it with cloth somehow.

    0:32 100% helmet has a part that sticks out which can get caught on something, bad idea. the safest shape is round, no sharp edges or things that stick out.
    1:40 I am not keen on having a wing on my helmet to get caught in things. also I read story about a dude face planting with this on to asphalt and the chinguard broke.
    2:58 similar stories with this one, I've read several stories about this helmet, several people crashed and the chinguard broke on impact.
    So these riders almost got their teeth smashed in it seems like.
    4:48 some reviews mentioned the honeycomb looking reduced the air flow, making the helmet warmer.
    The smith and Fox have a good shape, no things that stick out of the helmet.
    overall Smith helmet has the safest shape.
    Conclusion I would not buy any of these, but If I had to I would go for Smith. It has D ring buckle too, which I find easy to use, and is secure, it won't loosen up, the others I would have to sew the straps I guess.
