    Just changed out my factory spring shock which was a 1000 lb spring to a 350 lb spring shock. Big difference in ride comfort. One of the other guys (Rusty Roads I believe) suggested add 200 lbs to your weight to figure out the best spring, My X-Class is even more comfortable to ride (I ride only paved roads), I did NOT turn the bike upside down to swap the shocks. I found it very easy to make the change with the bike right-side up, and there was no need to get my knee or anything else in the bike while swapping out the shocks.

    Would like a rebound demo or opinion on the DNM vs the stock. Would have been a fitting conclusion.

      Great feedback! My opinions on the DNM shock are very positive. It’s the same rear shock used on most Sur Ron’s… although it is a shorter length. It’s much more plush than the stock shock. The DNM shock has a 550lb spring whereas the stock shock is 1000lbs… very stiff! If you go on long rides or like to adventure out onto dirt trails I highly recommend the DNM shock

    Excellent video! How is the rear shock working for you ?! Softer and more spongy because the stock shock ( 1st Xclass version ) sucks my man, that shit barely move and it’s a pain to ride that ride in these NY streets especially after slapping a 5000w 72v system on it.
    I am 6”3 200 so I am leaning towards yours, it also looks like the shock the surron uses ?! No
    Please lmk

      Yo! Much softer than the stock spring. This is the same rear shock (although it’s shorter) that the surron uses. Highly recommend it but I did hear that it’s hard to find now. I still have the link in the description so hopefully you can get your hands on one. I’m about 225 pounds and this shock made a huge difference…. Which 5000w kit did you throw on? I need more speed haha

    Received my X-Class 52V on June 9th and it has a new rear shock which is much longer. Also, the mounting bracket on the fender & bushing spacers are completely different. I tried multiple sizes of the DMB RCP-2S but they will not fit. Wondering if anyone has found a shock that will fit on the newer version of the X-Class?

      That’s awesome. Congrats on getting your xclass. Lucky you got the larger battery! Jealous. I don’t know of a different shock right now.. sort of trial and error. I would take it to a bike shop and ask them what they think will fit..

      I have the newer version of the x class as well. I’m waiting for some videos regarding the rear shock, best adjustments, and what to swap to if wanted. What I have seen so far is that the new set up was added because of customer feedback. It has a softer spring and an air adjustable shock. These both can be tuned and make a big difference from what I understand. I haven’t adjusted mine yet but plan on trying it out soon. One thing I need is a pump that goes to 300lbs so that I can put the shock back to stock pressure if I don’t like the feel. I’m going to drop the pressure in like 20 lb increments and see how it rides. It’s supposedly a pretty good set up tho.

      @@MrMonro27 I contacted Ariel Rider and they told me to let all the air out of the shock for it to be a softer ride. I let all the air out and it didn't make a difference to me. There was hardly any air in the shock to begin with. For now I have adapted and learned to ride it like I rode a bike when I was a kid. You have to put pressure on the pedals to keep your weight off the seat for moderate bumps or riding on grass. If you see any big bumps or train tracks ahead of you slow down & stand up off the seat & put your weight on the pedals. The bike weighs around 85 pounds so its way more then a regular bike. The front suspension works fine but the back definitely needs a better shock. For them to sell a bike that fast for $2400 they gotta cut corners in some areas. The rear shock is the only real negative about that bike. If anyone finds a decent shock that fits i'll definitely upgrade.

      @@user-su9yo3hp9q well said. I’d be interested in a new one as well. Thanks for sharing the info from Ariel rider. I’ll have to try that first. I’m wondering if the shock even serves a purpose with no air in it? Also since I’m 265 lbs I’m wondering if I’d notice a difference? Hopeful thinking.

    • @SD_CRAWLERS
      @SD_CRAWLERS  2 роки тому

      Hey Noe, maybe a 1/4 overall. Nothing noticeable in terms of a height increase. The shock is 1 inch longer than stock… but it’s a 550 or 650 lbs spring (I don’t recall the exact lbs) so it sags more a little more naturally..

      @@SD_CRAWLERS hey hoping u can help me out. So I ended up purchasing a JFOHY 190mm 550lbs shock on Amazon. The 190mm DNM shock isn’t available on Amazon. The top side fits flush, didnt have to use the X Class bushings. However the bottom side there is a gap with it’s original JFOHY bushings so I did use the X Class bushings but those are too wide. Would u recommend I shave them down ?? Worried if it doesn’t work I won’t be able to use the original X Class shock since I shaved down the bushings and won’t fit anymore.

      @@ItsNoe hey Noe! I have read on someone’s video that they had to shave down the bushings on one side to get it to fit. Mine honestly fit pretty easily so I might’ve gotten lucky. What do you think it’s off by… like 1 or 2mm?

    • @ItsNoe
      @ItsNoe 2 роки тому

      @@SD_CRAWLERS it’s about 5-6mm off. I would have to shave about 3mm on each side. But just worried if I botch it I won’t be able to use my bike with it’s original shock anymore since I’m modifying Ariel’s bushings. Hope that makes sense
