Just got my bike this was very helpful I'm big as well and when I first got the bike the back tire was bottoming out against the fender every time I went over a bump
@@ParkHopTillWeDrop Yea I am 275. For now I put the shocks at 130 PSI each and adjusted the shock with a spanner wrench tried to do it by hand like you did and couldn't. For the quick ride I took at lunch it seemed to be comfortable and no bottoming out. That said the bike is also brand new I've only done 12 miles back and forth to work twice so far.
No you could possibly do it with a smaller shock so 240mm is the recommended replacement and I'm guessing you could put like a 200 or 220 on and lower the rear slightly
@@Chris-eq5gk 240mm is the shock size I've seen every one else go with I have not personally upgraded yet waiting for stock to come in seems like everything I want is BO
Why did you screw the rings to the top with the intention of adding air at the position and then wind them back down without doing that? Aren't those rings for ride height adjustment?
So when you turn the spring rings you are also tightening the springs making the tension stronger so they have less travel it makes them stiffer giving a less spongy ride
I had to use a screw on type air pump and both the valves were loose on my shocks so they leaked out as quick as I filled them so after I tightened the valves they would take air I'm still looking into replacing these shocks to a much better setup
I'm just guessing here but I think your talking about the clearish thin item right on the fender. That is led lights we used while in a bike Christmas parade
I normally use my home air compressor as Im also a master auto tech so I have a shop here at the house but I do have a hand pump as well its this one amzn.to/3KhElyz it goes to 300 psi and its for suspension you can also use it to inflate a tire on the go
Wait, you adjusted the rear to make it stiffer? Why? judging from comments on the AR FB site, nearly everyone wants them to be softer, not stiffer. What was your reasoning for wanting stiffer shocks with less travel?
I'm a big guy and the suspension is soft with larger riders that is why for people around the 200lb range this is probably not so much of an issue but I wanted a stiffer ride from the rear
Big man on a big bike with big batteries and two big ev motors living life large. Keep it rolling from one Giant to another.
Thanks man we love these ar grizzlies holding up better than expected
Just got my Grizzly this weekend, east coast Connecticut, never too cold to get out there!!!
I hope you enjoy the grizz all that power is going to make thoes hill climbs soon easy
awesome man. im a big guy myself so seeing what your doing helps me out as well. cant wait to see you upgrade the suspension and seat.
I looked looked for a video on your lights you installed
we installed a front headlight and wireless charger combo we honestly were not happy with so we felt better just not recommending it to anyone
just ordered my seat from JB, very excited! Its 4inch!
You won't be disappointed please come back after and let us know how you like it. It completely changed the riding experience for us
Hi I have a question. So I fill the air suspension with a han held Manuel pump or do I use an electric air pump?
You can use either but it will need to be a high pressure pump in either case as the psi will be near 100 to 150
Just got my bike this was very helpful I'm big as well and when I first got the bike the back tire was bottoming out against the fender every time I went over a bump
did adjusting the shocks fix that issue i felt as a big guy that the suspension was a bit soft

have a v3 for few months now and nowhere near that clearance between fender and tire; as a result tire frequently hits the rear fender
We had to loosen and adjust the fender a few times until we got it also making the suspension more stiff.
I dont know much about bikes. The lower the spring the more absorb? Or less bounce? Or both?
You are basically adjusting the stiffness of the spring so as you adjust it tighter the spring travels less
My question is this can you adjust the shocks to make the bike lower
No you could possibly do it with a smaller shock so 240mm is the recommended replacement and I'm guessing you could put like a 200 or 220 on and lower the rear slightly
What custom shock do you recommend? I find the shocks to be too hard
Dnm shocks are very nice 240mm
@@ParkHopTillWeDrop will this DNM 240mm shock lower my grizzly or no ?
@@stan121midling5 240 should keep it at stock height
why would you want to limit the path of the suspension? and when do you know that you filled the right amount of air ?
Yes checked the pressure limited the suspension so it didn't rub as I'm sure you noticed I'm a slightly larger rider so needed a stiffer suspension.
ok, will this lower the height of the grizzly, as i am 5'11 and it is a little to high for me ?
No it will not
@@ParkHopTillWeDrop ok, Thank you
Great video. I like riding tandem. What spec shocks can you upgrade to? Do you have one you would recommend. Thanks.
Dnm rcp 240mm shocks we have seen them on another bike but have not tested them personally
@@ParkHopTillWeDrop I’ll definitely check that out. This 240MM would fit? AR customer support said the rear shocks were 255MM. Appreciate your help.

Hey all. What size is the eye on the rear shock?
I'm am 5 ft 6 my question is can I adjust the shocks to make the bike lower to the ground
No but you could put a shorter shock on the bike and at 5ft 6 you can fully reach the ground my wife is 5ft and she rides without issue

Can't wait till the new seat comes in so I get you off my bike! =)
Yeah I might have been stealing your bike a lot lately
Do the rear shocks ship at 0 psi?
Mine did but they were leaking
What length are the stock shocks and are you going to use the same and or go with 14" for example to change the stance? Thx
240mm I'd go the same length just a stiffer spring and better shock
Cool, keep us posted on your progress, good luck!✌️
@@ParkHopTillWeDrop i am thinking of going with a DNM 220mm shock in order to lower my grizzly V3
On the rear valve, I tried pumping air but nothing comes out when I depress the prong, do I have the wrong pump or something?

I'm just guessing here but I think your talking about the clearish thin item right on the fender. That is led lights we used while in a bike Christmas parade
Can you put air in the front suspension? And what is your travel on that fork?
No you can I would have to measure it but I'm guessing it's around 4in of total travel
Do you need a specific pump for the suspensions?
Which name and model shocks are you considering to upgrade to on the grizzly?

It is but the 240s work fine
