MBT I am planning in the near future to write a treatise on a Logarithmic Format of Yugioh that leans into the high powerlevel of Yugioh instead of limiting it. This is by giving everyone 10-card rush duel style replenishing hands, zones that can stack more than one card on it, multiple normals per turn, and 80000 LP. Basically like that part of clicker games where your stuff gets exponentially more powerful but the goals you have to hit scale up to match. If I send this treatise to you when I finish, would you be interested in giving me feedback?
don't worry, the Celtic Guardian Only Mode tweet was in fact actually that funny
indeed it was
Funniest shit I've ever seen
Celtic Guardian mode is so based!!!!
He turned himself into a Feral Imp
When do we actually get the Celtic Guardian Only mode at official TCG events ?
Im a big fan of Louise format. Rules are simple:
1. 60 card deck
2. Only normal monsters are legal
3. First person to summon Beaver Warrior wins
Louise op
Some people call me Louise
Rules don't say I can't have 60 Beaver Warrior in my deck.
My Yu-gi-oh career peaked during Master Duel N/R format when I used Cat Shark and Black Ship of Corn to out Seven Sins.
I’ve been chasing that high ever since. Theme Chronicle came close.
I played aquaactress the only out decks had for a 5400+ lvl 2 monster was a dino. It was scary how how we'll it worked.
Somehow one of my best duels also involved black ship of corn in a shark N/R deck, and it was glorious
I remember playing Daedalus Legendary Ocean during that fest, did surprisingly good and was the first time ever I made a deck completely from scratch on my own, even summoned Daedalus thrice and Neo Daedalus (the entire reason I wanted to make the deck, so that was an event victory in my book) once and got to use its effect and caused the opponent to scoop.
Man N/R was so fun, i played Megalith and i was so proud when i finally learned the combo. MD hasnt been that fun ever since, i hope they bring N/R back
played Orcust. no longirsu? no galatea? no worries, we got Orcustrion.
Memes aside, Duelist of the Roses was a fantastic game that I would totally play a remake of. 😍
Two things that Duelist of the Roses has that would be impossible to recreate is deck cost and Forbidden memories style fusion. You were only allowed to play a deck cost lower than the AI, but how would that work in real life. Who is the AI? I'm not an AI.
Cmon baby gimme that Turing pass.
@@alagosplode I think James meant that if Konami produced another video game in the same vein as DOTR he'd play it.
You can upscale the resolution of cards in emulators and people have made mods for the game.
@@AlphaSquadZero I have a modded game going myself that I enjoy every so often. Still a great game that should have gotten more traction.
@@alagosplode Stop trying to trick people into saying your a real person. Its not going to work.
Duellist of the roses was how I truly got into Yugioh as a kid and is probably one of my favourite games ever
Take a pile of 40 random monsters and try and line them up like domino pieces. They fit together if they're a small world bridge; i.e. if exactly one of the monster's level, type, attribute, ATK and DEF match.
that's just dominoes with extra steps
The person who made the Small World Bridge calculator should add this as a feature
that's just small world bridges as a game

I was literally crying laughing at the Celtic Guardian Only tweet
back in the day (early GX) me and my cousin made out own format, both players started with 4000 and blasted a song in the background, if the song ends before someone wins the duel ends.
this usually ended in my aunt yelling at us for being too loud or, being so hyper focused in the game we didnt realize the song ended 10 minutes ago
Legendary Collections are CRIMINALLY slept on drafting sets--you get all the staples and archetypes for a specific series like DM, GX, or 5DS and actually get a shot at pulling big extra deck bosses
Dark Duel Stories had an interesting take on the game where, aside from field spells going by how they worked in Duelist Kingdom, there were “type advantages” in which a monster with a certain attribute can destroy another monster even if it’s stats were weaker (you can have Jellyfish destroy Volcanic Queen since water beats fire). You could also summon extra deck and ritual monsters like regular monsters too and a lot of them had the Divine typing so they were immune to being destroyed by its type.
That was a thing in the early manga and even the Duelist Kingdom anime, some monster types had an advantage wheel like Pokemon types.
Ah, yes. Nothing like beating Blue-Eyes White Dragon with knock-off Kuriboh, aka Wretched (Ghost of the Attic, character limit only had first word lol). And Tristen having a Relinquished in his deck, but because he's a complete amateur he never activated its effect.
Konami really needs to bring that flavor of YuGiOh back to the video games. Just beat Sacred Cards a month-ish ago, and it was really fun.
I used a Shadow fiend/spellcaster deck with a Revival Jam/Toad Master "tribute engine". I MAAAAAAAY have also grinded like a madman to have full sets of things like Dark Elf. Because the only balancing factor for high stat cards like that is deck capacity cost.
@@mateusrp1994 It was also kind of a in Forbidden Memories where when you played a monster you had to choose 1 of 2 star signs to give it and depending on the sign of the card you're attacking it could gain an increase in attack. I never understood what beat what, it was too rare/unexplained to really factor into your gameplay though.
@@SSBBPOKEFAN At least that game was balanced and kind of fair, Reshef of Destruction is unplayable after a certain point unless you're playing exactly "Tribute for god cards."
The first yugioh experience i had was duelist of the roses and looking back its still the most fun i have had playing yugioh
The playground Duelist Kingdom format reminds me of a fanfic I wanted to write that starts right after Yugi defeats Weevil the first time. The premise is that one of the tournament referees forces Weevil to turn over his cards, either because the value of Yugi’s deck far exceeds the value of the one star chip it was wagered in place of, or it is done on special instructions from Pegasus, who fears that Yugi will not be able to reach him to wager his puzzle against Solomon’s soul without Exodia.
I have so many silly ideas for how Yugi and Joey’s decks would work after they’ve each added some of Weevil’s best cards. For example, Time Wizard would be able to force an early hatching of PUG Moth, or insect monsters could have an advantage against zombie because of their roles as decomposers, stripping powerful zombies down to feeble skeletons.
I think one reason N/R was so good was because you could pivot at any time. No need to pull or count dust, just play any card you want.
I think my favourite deck in that was Paleo Phantom Knights Cursed Javelin turbo.
Zero hand traps and very little disruption also helped.
Duelist's of the Roses is so sick, one of my favorite games as a kid even if some of the mechanics are pretty trash. Would love to see a remake but I unfortunately doubt that it'll ever happen
We’ve started a Limit 1 format at our locals based on the Limit 1 event in master duel but using the TCG ban list. It’s been a lot of fun. Decks like Orcust Striker, Adventure PK Danger, Witchcrafter Branded, etc. it’s really fun.
Had a lot of fun with heroes in that format
In pokemon tcg online there's a format where you can only play with starter decks.
Honestly a lot of fun
I think my favorite player-created format is RJB0's Wave-Motion Yugioh. For me it sits in the sweet spot right in the middle of constructed vs limited formats.
The extra layer of all being different kinds of players helps that set out so much. RJ being a limited player makes his decks drastically different than Kegan who usually ends up playing legacy support for an Edison deck.
Predaplant and Tenyi are equally as good as Lunalight in Common Charity and decks like HERO and Scrap have good match-ups versus some of those decks.
Woah woah woah, you're telling me there's a format out there where Scrap (best deck) is good? Where do I sign up?

Rebby took mbt up on his dare so hard that she banned herself from twitter! such an inspiration.
There’s a semi-new format a small group of people are trying out called “Domain Format”.
It’s the best imagining of a 3-5+ player Yugioh format that I’ve seen. There are deckmasters and the rules are very well put together and I love how creative you have to be for majority of decks to work properly. If you’re interested in something like that, just lookup Domain format here on UA-cam. I fully plan on playing this format in the future with friends
The thumbnail made me think that this was the start of a new series where MBT would play through all the Yugioh video games. While that's not the case, I wouldn't mind seeing MBT play his through Nightmare Troubadour and the World Championship games for GBA and the DS.
I have a couple of friends who decided to make their own format that they call "degeneracy." The deck size is well over 200 cards, it can hold about 6-8 players, everyone plays from the one deck, only 1 copy of each card, if a card says "your opponent" its applied to all other players. (Example: feather duster with destroy all other players spell/traps.), and if youre attacked directly you cannot be attacked by any other player till your next turn. Its rediculously hard, but extremely fun!
Duelist of the Roses really needs to get a remake or remaster.
I would play celtic guardian format
I loved playing the N/R festival and running danger dark world with all the low rarity cards. I even made sure to include gokipole to search the mothmans lmao
Yugioh Falsebound Kingdom was a gem on GameCube. I remember me and my brother playing it FAITHFULLY to the point where we would play entire weekends
I'll just leave a definition for an archetype if that's required for whatever reason
An archetype is a list of cards, related to a string of text, that have at least one of these properties :
- The string of text is included in the card's name
- The string of text is included in the card's effect, between quotes
The following restriction is applied to the string of text : There must exist a card mentioning the string of text in its effect, between quotes. (Just to ensure someone doesn't do the "e" archetype lol)
Literally my favorite yugioh ever.. even my dad played roses. He still till this day doesn't even know yugioh is a real card game
so, lunalight is the best deck in common charity, but it really isn't far above other decks, the about 4 other meta decks (Predplant, Tenyi, HERO and scrap) as well as a bunch of rogue stuff (like gouki, melffy, lair of darkness or f.a.) can compete very well.
Hey bro, as someone who’s played both lunalight and gouki but not in common charity what exactly gives lunalight the edge over gouki specifically? Aren’t they both essentially OTK decks?
@@UmbraBird from what i recall lunalight has nearly all its cards at common
@@UmbraBird no not really, Lunalight is not focussed on otk's, what lunalight does mainly is go first and end on a couple of rank 4s + follow up, while also being very good at going second and otk'ing with its fusions that also have very good protection, but you dont really wanna make them first turn when you don't have a battle phase since they dont really do anything. Gouki is also a deck that wants to go first while being able to go second, it's going first setup is double powerload + the codebreaker link 2 (unless you play the trap variant, which usually just sets a gouki name and a bunch of trap cards) and follow up, which is just worse than rank 4s are and gouki does also otk well, but is much less resilient at going through interruptions.
@@UmbraBird Mostly because some of the good payoffs in a Gouki Deck were never printed at Common, so you're kinda glued to some inferior options.
@@UmbraBird Lunalight got Tiger recently ish and Redoer is one of the best cards in the format. They are just a competent deck that has access to a great xyz toolbox, while havijg the usual towers.
The fact so many of these comments mention Duelist of the Roses shows it is an amazing game. Truly one of the most unique ways Yu-Gi-Oh can be played. Hopefully it will get a remake one day.
I’m suprise no one brought up Anime/Manga accurate decks duels format. Bin playing that for major of my time playing Yugioh
I swear if Konami ever made more Duelist of the Roses, I’d die happy
I’ve been trying to brainstorm a new gimmicky format myself and so far the best I’ve come up with is “Totally not Cardfight Vanguard”
Gonna have to look for that duel of the roses format that was brought up. As I remember that game, and also my friends and I literally drawing out the 7x7 map and tried to make it work. It was so much fun compared to getting stomped at locals at that time.
I still want DOTR 2. Maybe make it a prequel around the Hundred Years War? But the system they set up in that game is too good to only have one video game entry.
You know we need a junior journey progression series
I remember getting Duelist of the Roses as a kid on PS2 but it wasn’t the yugioh I was used to and didn’t know how to play chess at the time so I was very confused
Me and my friend combined yugioh and uno, we shared a 120 card deck, and it was a 60 card uno deck and two thirty card yugioh decks, both drawing a 5 card hand from that, then just going, it was vile
Celtic Guardian Only Mode was in fact the funniest thing I've read this month
Honestly the part of these videos is seeing the MBT opening tittle card. Thanks Dire!
My personal favorite format is, well…the Battle Royale format introduced in Arc-V…which is semi-adapted to still allow for the Extra Monster Zones and Link shenanigans. Extra Linking doesn’t lock anything though, as you can no longer link with an opponent’s board.
Shout-out to EXU Extinction Unleashed, a custom card on dueling book that rocks imo
1v1v1v1 yugioh is some of the most fun I've had with the game, everyone has a great time arguing over the rulings and its utter chaos.
4-player YGO.
The board is altered slightly (only slightly) to fit 2 more players in a square board, EMZs are shared by adjacent players. The player going Turn 1 isnt allowed to use the Right EMZ to ensure the last player doesnt get extra-locked.
If a card effect says "your opponent", like Raigeki, you have to choose one of your opponents and it only applies to that player. If an effect says Each Player or would apply to both players, like Dark Hole, then it applies to all 4 players. Static effects that specify an opponent, like Prohibition, apply to a single player upon activation or summon.
The Last player in the turn order is the first person allowed to enter the battle phase.
I havent gotten to playtest it enough to know if more life points are needed or not. But I assume with the slowed down battle phase and having to fight through 3 player's interraction, OTK decks will be slowed down enough to get derailed.
The field's geometry would be a bit weird but sounds funny
@@dudono1744 honestly you just need to do is put the field spell between the emzs and put the gy and banish zones on either side and everything fits

that there is no propper draft AFTER it already existed in an even better way than mtg had in concept at least with battle packs is amazing. the BEST way of playing a card game infrequently is draft as it simply does not matter where the metta is or in what state the game is right now in such a low power format. heck you could probably teach someone draft who has not even heard of yugioh in an hour and they can have fun without even knowing what an extra deck is
4:40 My server was referenced! and yeah it was fun watching the regression play-offs happen even though I never participated
Ive always wanted to us the link monster and play " Tetra Master" from final fantasy 9 or Triple triad from final fantasy 8
Hydralander is a neat format to brew for. (Went to EDH when I moved to MTG)
It would be interesting to see it spliced with other Formats; Hydralander-Common Charity, Hydralander-Edison, etc.
I still have duelist of the roses i love it its like yugioh chess 👌 i like going for the fairy king truedale or whatever his name is then if you get kairyushin and twin headed thunder dragon your stacked.
Celtic Guardian only mode also made me laugh for a few minutes
I would love to see a battle effects only format. I wonder how broken mirror force would be, haha.
Celtic Guardian only mode? He's on to something here...
I wish they would make a new duelist of the roses!!!! One of the best games of all time
I wish they would just remaster Duelist of the Roses. That game was so much fun, the soundtrack was absolutely amazing too

I know you won't look at this; but still, I give you: Shadow Duel Format.
I was inspired heavily by TSX1's speed duel tournament and Golden Nova's Digimon video. The speed duel essentially artificially slows the game down; where the power creep only keeps speeding us up. We could introduce a "shadows" mechanic similar to memory in Digimon. I haven't had a chance to workshop anything specific yet (I have no friends), also I'm no Distant Coder when it comes to Yugioh rules (I need help), but imagine:
Shadow Duels: a game mechanic. Let's place a number line of -10 to +10 on the field, each side belonging to a player. The shadow count starts in the middle (0) and moves towards a player (and away from their opponent) one space each time that player activates an effect; specifically ignition (?), monster quick effects (is that an ignition?), and spells draw shadows unto yourself. Cards that activate on their own when a condition is met (proc) or cards that were set wouldn't draw shadows. When the shadows reach a player, that player loses.
The idea is make combo-ing a little more costly for the combo player while making it slightly beneficial for the player getting combo-ed on. If a player pulls 9 counters of shadows unto themselves, that player is entirely unable to quick effect negate anything. Meaning a board dedicated to locking the opponent out through negates is counter intuitive with these rules.
This system would also inherently boost the power and effectiveness of flip monsters, effects that tend to miss timing, effects that proc on their own, traps, and there's even incentive to set quick-play spells instead of outright activating them (I think we should have had quick-play traps instead; but what's done is done and that is an entirely different discussion).
So, ideally it would look something like this. I play rocks, magnets; don't judge. Summon a rock (no shadows), activate Adamancipator Researcher (shadows +1) to special, activate Researcher (+1) to excavate and special Gamma. Gamma activates (no shadows), special Beta, Beta activates (no shadows) to Stratos into my hand another magnet. That's two points of shadows in my court so far. But let's say I end turn with Naturia Beast, Baron, Koa'ki Guardian, and Berserkion on board with 8 points of shadows in my court. That's 17 activations, at least, that my opponent gets on their turn; versus my available one. If they don't move the needle back in their direction, I borderline can't activate anything; not even on my second turn. Maxx C and Ash Blossom would both draw shadows, so it's even a soft (VERY soft) nerf in TCG, OCG, and Master Duel metas.
Yes, I'm suggesting we add another aspect to the field lmao. But in this light (lol), I wonder if hopefully we'll be pushed to play within an archetype and understand it more thoroughly.
Seems like an interesting idea, but it would make trap decks too powerful. I imagine activating a trap should also bring you a shadow.
Don't Tears proc by being sent to the grave? I'm rather casual for Yugioh but I'm dabbling in making a tabletop; so game design is my whole schtick. I figured Tear and Ishizu would remain meta; I personally like our Tear 0 overlords atm (plays Naturia).
It definitely draws deck building away from stuff like generic Adamancipator or any KNOWN combo deck. That being said, the Eldlitch traps would draw shadows to activate their self-banishing graveyard effects; so they still take a hit under these rules.
Then also, activating Infinite Impermanence or Evenly Matched from your hand would draw shadows.
Aaaaaaand this may just be a "me thing", but I think we should bring back the battle city rule of summoning sickness for extra deck monsters. The extra deck is an extremely versatile toolbox that grant you powerful effects and extenders, I don't think limiting their ability to attack is such a big ask. It would put more of an emphasis on your main deck if you wanted to OTK.
You forgot the best alternative format: dungeon dice monsters
I've dragged a friend into playing Duelist of the Roses but with actual cards before. It's absolute chaos but tons of fun.
How does that even work? I would love to try out
Ok but when is konami making real life action duels so yugioh players will be forced to actually go outside and exercise
I'm glad MBT is out there welcoming Rush Duel with open arms whereas most people still blindly hate the format.
That said, GIVE US RUSH DUEL GODDAMNIT
I don’t even understand the distaste for it. It’s like when people talk crap about duel links and master duel.
@@TheGuyWhoIsSitting Usually it's either "this is too simple I hate it" or "this took away the anime for master duel I hate it" and neither is a good reason.
One format/ idea I want to seee sometime is seeing what would change if Flips operated like traps/ links couldn’t use tokens as material
(Also as usual bishbalkin punk musket I beg of you.. cries in no deer note in master duel)
4:05 My man just invented Dungeon Dice Monsters
Bro Newgioh was fun as hell. It was, for all intents and purposes, just an expanded goat format, but it enabled some fun decks that you wouldn't have seen in goat. I had a Legendary Ocean deck put together that was insanely fun.
HOLY 6:55 Uno Duel is the WAY! Mix both main decks together. Mix both extra decks together, decide who goes 1st/2nd. Reveal the Mega extra deck, DRAFT each players extra deck (Going second player gets the first draft) then draw starting hands from Mega main deck. (Maybe each player get to Mulligan two cards.)
Joseph getting the giggles was fantastic.
Oh fuck Celtic Guardian only mode gave me a headache from laughing
yo duelist of the roses slapped. the vs Lancastrians music goes HARD
Celtic Guardian only mode, but my deck is just 40 Mystic Mine
My peak was during the highlander event. Building jank cyberse and winning almost consistently with it was great (and circular wasn't even a thing back then)
We did that uno thing at a party one time. 4 players all share the same big pile of cards as their deck and a separate pile of extra deck cards. Then you just... Draw hands and play like "normal" lol
I spent like a year turning Yu-Gi-Oh! into Magic with the rules for translating cards typed out so you can translate any deck you want and play against a MTG player with it. High key kinda fun.
Do you have any resources for that (like a PDF or word document)? I'd love to see that!
@@HobbitJack1 may make a video about it at some point.
Bro newgioh was so fun. Beast down with horn of the phantom beasts and tour guide into acid golem. Then they added something in the last list that made me switch to skill drain machines but I forget exactly what that was, maybe triple limiter.
Wish the TCG would implement a Duelist of the Rose style gameplay, I would be so down for that 👌🏽
How can you be tired of Tearlament, such skilltesting and rewarding format where both players are playing the whole time
0:06 Pokemon intro reference?! nice
I've been out of Yugioh for a number of years so I've been playing Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evoluion to get relatively caught up to the modern game (still about 3 years behind but I now have a bit of a taste of how modern yugioh plays). I also used mods to change the challenge mode deck recipes to be better and a little more deadly so I can get used to being Ashed, Evenly'd and Called by.
About the only card seeing some play in some decks that you listed is Evenly Matched. Called by isn’t bad necessarily, but it’s at one in the TCG format. Ash isn’t awful but it isn’t good enough for the current format to be a staple proper. I think most people are playing cards that do more. Like Kashtira does so much more against the current meta decks. I’m not sure if people are playing that so much now but Bystial and Kashtira were being splashed because they just do more disruptive plays. But I don’t really play the modern format. I basically play Duel Links and more or less gave up on Master Duel before we got Runick. I enjoyed Branded up until it was the arguable best deck and even when I was playing it I got so many games where my opponent just opened the nuts every time. So basically the average Master Duel and Duel Links experience.
@@TheGuyWhoIsSitting I'm just learning how to do big combos through older decks like Dragon Links myself so that I can maybe do them in other archetypes in the future.
Duelist of roses might be my actual first contact with Yu-Gi-Oh
I had some fun in Gefahr formant for a bit. It was another Smogon-style Yugioh attempt but died after the creator and main channel supporting it got cancelled for allegedly grooming kids.
LMAO WHAT? That's crazy
Oh, I'm SOOO glad that I am not active on Twitter, lest you'd hear about the draft format where you roll for 2 boxes and then pull half of each to build a deck out of them. I mean, it's a weird mix between Revz' Arena format and Sealed Showdown, but ffs, you really don't need to draft only a single set at once. This is Yu-Gi-Oh, not MtG where your draft is determined by color identity and parasitic synergies (okay, maybe the parasitic synergies are still there, but it's still easy to pack SOMETHING in there that is playable).
"Uno Duels" sound a lot like the "Adventure Quest Worlds" card game.
Yes, I own a deck of the Adventure Quest Worlds card game. It's fun to break out at parties.
We don't talk about the origins of Kuchen Format
Thank you for the end dire
I’ve enjoyed playing the “pure”form of dogmatika with all of their new ritual cards. Been having a fun time overall.
A few years ago I tried to make a fanmade duelist od the roses but I could not get it not to crash. The first decks were going to be anime e hero vs manga e hero
We used 2 play a 4 - 5 players free for all at school.
It was actuallY FUN. A lot of cards that dont see play in the TCG were actually bronken in the free for all format.
2:52 Yeah Orcustrion is soo generic, I use it on all my decks because how easy it is to summon and use its effect.
Wait, someone backwards engineered a Duelists of Roses ruleset!? "Insert Futurama take my money meme here"
This shit was my childhood together with capsule monster colusseum
I should have posted about my new format:
it's the underground cage duels from GX but instead of shock collars everytime you take damage your buttplug vibrates
I actually got to play against you in Trinity, back then I was trying to make Subterror work with the ballpark insect package over the Shaddoll package, even though this was explicitly worse as it turns out.
I made a 3000+ card singleton Mega Cube that I've been playing with my friends for a while now. It's the most fun I have playing the game!
I've made a ruleset to make Yu-gi-oh a "MTG-inspired" game that actually has a resource system. The only problem is that none of my friends felt like learning the new ruleset, here it is. Some MTG knowledge might be required to understand it.
MTGMode Rules:
- Both players have an energy pool that starts at 0 and grows by 1 at the beginning of their standby phase.
- Creatures have Summoning sickness
- You declare attacks directly to players, not creatures
- Normal summoning or setting creatures requires you to pay a cost equal to their level.
- Spells and traps cost 1 to be played on your first two turns, and 2 in the turns after that.
- You can only play cards from your hand up to the number of turns that have passed.
- Players declare blockers on a blocker phase after the attacking player declares he has finished declaring attackers and ends the attacker phase.
- ATK is dealt to DEF when blocking. A creature that received damage equal to or greater than its DEF is destroyed.
- Cards can be set for FLIP summon and for hidden information purposes.
- Face-down tapped cards can block
- Creatures must tap in order to declare an attack.
- Tapped creatures cannot block.
- A card summoned or played directly from the graveyard by the effect of a card that is also in the graveyard has a cost equal to half the level of the summoned creature, or 2 if the played card is a magic/trap card.
- Any card that gives or has “Can attack directly” gives or has “Unblockable” instead.
- Creatures that leave the battlefield the same turn they enter the battlefield by their own effect or as an additional effect of a card that summoned them, have don’t have Summoning Sickness
- Creatures that return to your control at the beginning of your standup phase don’t have Summoning Sickness except for the first turn of the game.
-All creatures with base 0 DEF have base 50 DEF instead.
-All cards that exclusively deal direct damage to one opponent can also target a creature instead.
-All magic cards that exclusively deal direct damage to one opponent are considered quick spells.
- Any effect that would special summon a creature requires an additional 2 to be paid, otherwise the activation of that effect is negated.
-You can pay an additional 5 to activate trap cards the turn they were set.
- Special summoning itself costs mana equal to half that creature’s level
Damn, I should've shilled Motion Duels, I have a different DOTR-inspired ruleset (that I barely maintain) that uses a 5x5 grid (instead of 7x7) to better-integrate column effects and Link Monsters.
I seriously enjoyed the Dungeon Dice Nintendo DS game, imagine if Konami would've supported that irl ^^
