Buckinchuteranch 1 I personally haven’t had the K&N filter in my truck but I’ve heard it’s not the ideal filter for a hot 7.3 diesel when compared to something like the S&B.
@@BayouBoyOutoorsCongrats! I would 100% buy a hydro tuner. Night / day difference. Since you’re doing hotshot I’d also buy a CTS3 to track your engine diagnostics/temps as well as buy a MIshimoto transmission cooler (2x the original size and it fits perfectly). You’ll thank me later for this setup!
@@Nubako463 For a stock turbo the wicked wheel is a solid mod. Labor aside it’s inexpensive compared to a new turbo, creates a great sound and more HP from a stock platform.
It took longer then I care to admit and initially the filter popped off inside the air box. I loosened everything...then I tightened down the filter and manhandled the rest into place and tightened it all down hard before letting go. Since then it’s stayed in place.
I absolutely noticed a performance increase and better fuel mileage and it already had an aftermarket air filter before. S&B gave me nothing for the vid, I bought the filter as a regular dude and still love it so I highly recommend.
👍 I’ve been thinking about adding one of those shut-off switches for the battery The cold air intake system is a misnomer. It’s actually dragging HOT engine bay air directly and putting already hot air into your motor. The stock system is actually cooler if you put it up to a programmer that can read it on the fly(that system you initially took off) I’d be very interested to see an update video on that new intake. Looks easier to deal with over stock. And looks more (true cold air) intake by drawing air from OUT of the engine bay
Ogre Dad I like the off switch idea for the battery’s! And yes, it was a marketed difference getting the S&B that pulls air from the grill and wheel well as opposed to straight out of the engine bay.

I just installed one today . Huge improvement over factory . Woke the old girl up and she sounds great
I’m so glad to hear you had the same experience as I did!
One of the best sounding 7.3’s . Very healthy idle. 👍👍🙌
Thank you very much, I appreciate that.
@@73LiterTruckStuff absolutely!😃
Thank you for your video. I didn't know that S&B made an air intake for the 7.3
Welcome and I’m very happy with it as well.
Just bought a 2002 7.3 with 246000 it’s a one owner truck and my first 7.3 liking the truck so far
Congrats on the truck. I have new vids coming out soon and I hope you stay an active subscriber!
Just got my favorite engine again since my dad sold my old project truck now I got my own LLC makin good money got my first 2001 7.3 f350 6 speed too
Definitely worth buying! Put one of these bad boys in my truck this weekend and I can easily do burnouts now 😎
Yeah she’s one of the best upgrades I’ve done to the truck
I’m liking that intake over my current K&N “cold air” intake.

Just put in the Hydra myself a month ago and I Love it, u should too.
Yeah I’ve been sitting on installing the hydra for too long. I need to install that puppy!
@@73LiterTruckStuff u won’t regret it.
Just bought an 01’ 7.3…going to install the S&B on it…what other upgrades do you recommend for my rig…going to use it for hotshot towing…thanks boss!

I just bought a 2001 7.3 127 thousand miles on it. Some rust do to Minnesota winter's. But could not pass it up.
Sounds like an awesome ride.
How did you get on snorkel. Mine refuses to get on

I am surprised to see the fuel bowl in your intake valley.
Yeah it’s a larger upgrade that in time I’d like to replace for sure

I gave you more yt material 😜👍
Does this upgraded "sucks hard" aftermarket air intake cause the check engine light to come on?
hercules0378 Thanks for the comment. I have had ZERO check engine lights or negative effects from the install. Highly recommend the S&B.
You got your jam nut and locking nut backwards
Steve Rives “Thats what she said”
And where abouts do they need to be swapped?
