Amazing stuff as always Yan. The joy of these videos is not only following along step by step, but inserting your own samples in once the effect racks are complete and adjusting to preference. You never fail to inspire my jam sessions. much love
Thank you so much again for sharing your knowledge Yan! All your videos are super helpful. I'm still learning...in my head, everything I do is wrong haha ....so to see that my processing is not that much any different ( well maybe a few details of course ) helps a lot !
Excellent! Thanks for the great video that contains only the useful stuff (verbal explanation isn't always needed). I was interested to see someone else putting a limiter at the end of nearly every chain. I've never heard anyone talk about that, but I discovered doing so is usually useful and at worst redundant.
Haha yes it's useful. Jesus. you make it look so easy... IF anyone hasn't yet done it, I 100% recommend you purchase Yan's sample pack. I use them pretty much all the time now. You'll never need to buy another pack, trust me.
I noticed you used Utility on all the percussion sounds and turned it slightly to mid. Can you explain why ? My explanation would be because of the reverb so if the track is played in the club on mono, the percussion sounds don't get lost? I'm fairly new to producing and I'm learning a lot from your videos! keep it up man
Pretty sure it is as you said. Too much stereo width muddies up the sound I feel. Especially since you can basically only hear tracks in mono in a club anyway except for when the sound system is specifically set up in that way. It’s actually a very handy tip to turn your master bus into mono every now and then so you can listen for any overlapping sounds and weird frequencies
Also the ping pong setting on the ableton delay has no width option, it puts the right delay all the way to the right and the left delay all the way to left, leading to a annoyingly jumpy stereo image (4:56) that needs to be centered quite a bit.
@@Netsuko no good techno club has a mono sound system. it would be absolutley stupid, since no one mixes in mono. If the club you go to has a mono sound system, i feel sorry for you
nice content, interesting to follow! Is this a template that you're using (so "just activating the devices") or is it for the purpose of demonstrating?
Yan, I'm loving your tutorials but I am curious why you seem to never use Return Tracks -- any special reason for this other than just having a lot of CPU?
Do you prefer individual drum tracks over grouping them into a bus? I’m assuming you have more control over each individual track but correct me if I’m wrong. I love your work flow. Thank you :)
In ableton, when you have a group made up of individual tracks and you have applied automation to that entire group, is there a way to bounce the stems of the group and have each individual track within the group retain the automation of the group? When I bounce my stems, all group automation gets removed from the individual tracks of that group
weird, it shouldn't do. Is the automation only on the group track? I've never really had this issue, a lot of the time I use sends on group tracks and am able to hear the fx on all tracks. I'll have a look into it! :)
@@Max-gh6px yeah the automation is only on the group track, but that’s a very good idea about using the sends on group automations, I’ll do that from now on. Thanks very much 🙏
Супер, как же интересно что в этом sample pack’е, жалко что он стоит 30$, а на русские рубли 2200, так бы взял, ну моё еврейское воспитание не даёт мне это сделать(
This is big room techno? I thought it was more like i_o type of stuff. You know, build ups and "drops", punchier, subbier, less reverby kicks. This just sounds like techno to me. ??
The folder organisation is a joy to behold
I need a tutorial on that too 😂

to be honest, one of the most helpful tutorials ever. thanks man. really helped a lot and opened my eyes and gave clearness
As always, no BS, just pure techno knowledge
Its amazing how you can make a banger in 10min
It is all prepared
It seems so easy when it's done well... :D

naming the sidechain sidechain - genius!
These videos are great - straight to the point and very engaging.

F*cking hell, great stuff (again)! When hearing all together for the first time i was like : WOW! (opens Ableton). Inspiring! Thank you!
когда я в 14 лет начинал писать музыку, я мечтал о таких видео. Сейчас мне 30 - и ничего не изменилось. мечта сбылась. Спасибо!

I just don't like when a track sounds too wide.

I justed noticed you mixed on 0 Db at the master channel and not between -4 and -6 can you explain why ? Thank your for this video
Because the master chain is on, I have a video on that :)

В чём разница использования glue компрессора для сайдчейна по сравнению с простым компрессором?
На мой взгляд, разницы нету)
The video is useful.

I sometimes do this to make the video shorter.
Why do you use glue compressor to sidechain opposed to the normal compressor?
No reason :)
