@@patriceaqa288 A Cuban political refugee.

Watch Godfather, and then watch Scarface, and you'll understand what a monster of an actor Al-Pacino is. The personalities of Michael and Tony are so different from each-other, its crazy how one guy had both characters within him.
God bless you, this is exactly word for word what I was thinking for more than 15 years now !
It’s like Bryan Cranston playing Hal from Malcolm in the Middle and Walter from Breaking Bad. Polar opposite characters but he plays them so convincingly.
@Keyzer Soze I would disagree but I respect your opinion. I think they are equally fantastic. They are both in my goat list along with Tom Hanks, Nicholas Cage, Shia Labeouf, Marlon Brando, Robin Williams, Robert Pattinson and Morgan Freeman.

The fact that the camera circles in a tight shout around him in the beginning, without showing the faces of the people surrounding and questioning him is really good foreshadowing for what's about to happen. Also it describes his character visually.
Great cinematography is a lost art these days. Everything is in frame now leaving no mystery or anything to the imagination.

Yeah lieing catches up to you
Well he was speaking the truth about Castro and Hammer and Sickle.
@Aaron Daneils I think you need to read up on how Castro DEPORTED the Marielito people ie the Mariel boat lift of 1980... Castro essentially allowed 125,000 people to FLEE Cuba , but many in that group were Hardened Criminals from Jails who he just did not want to feed and house any more so he essentially dumped them on the USA .. and we ( the USA) fell for it .. Tony Montana was no political Asylum seeker , he was expelled from Cuba because he was already a scumbag , hardened Criminal over there who was in Prison .. The Police were reading him correctly , the Tattoo & scar on his face confirmed it all .
@Aaron Daneils When you say " We're " who exactly is in your group ?
@@jefffromjersey52 he meant were not we are. And you should take a look back at his comment, i think u missread it.
Just brilliant acting. The facial expressions, the smile, the anger. This scene alone, is an example why this incredible actor was born to be on the big screen.
Pacino is without question on the “Mount Rushmore” of greatest film actors of all time.
True but the accent is pretty bad

That’s true. Tony’s acting here and al Pacino is acting while his character is acting.

Al Pacino can play bad guys, good guys, or anyone in between. I saw him as a cop in Heat with Robert DeNiro and it was like watching two masters at work.
DeNiro wears high heels to look taller and could never hold a candle to Pacino. Joe Pesci didn't need to look tall to be a tough guy.

The directing of this scene is just old school delightful, first we're intimate with Tony and really up close, giving us the impression he's under pressure and the intimidated one. But as the scene goes on, the camera moves back little by little as Tony's dominance increases.
De Palma was a monster director those days.
I think Michael Mann. Had Somthing to do with thus film. He created Miami vice,,, and heat,,,,,
@mm43501 there are plenty of directors that are capable and do utilize these techniques in today's movies.
That means literally nothing to me. In fact it was quite annoying that they zoomed in on Tony so much in the beginning. I would have preferred to see the body language of the other actors during the whole scene. To see if they care or not about what he said.
Wow you have a great eye for detail.

This re-make of Scarface is one of my favourite movies ever. The film never ages, I lose myself in the whole story just as easily as I did 40 years ago when I first saw it in my teens. The way each and every character evolve and the brilliant direction of Brian De Palma are without equal.
