  • Today I'm showing you how I carved a wolf from a piece of quartz to celebrate the final season of Game of Thrones. I used diamond burrs with a Dremel, a sharpie, and nail polish for the eyes.
Have you been watching the final season?

Hey, I've always collected rocks for fun, and I'm in love with the fact that they can be shaped into anything. I will very much like to start doing some carving of my own and I was wondering if you tell what rotary tool is best (is the WEN 80-Piece Variable Speed Corded 1-Amp Sanding Rotary Tool with Hard Case, a good bet?), what are the difference between burrs and maybe some tips.
This will help me very much.
Thank you and have a great day.

I’m not really the best person to ask which is the best, I’ve only ever used this Dremel that is in this video. The only thing I would really say is that it is nice to have the flexible shaft and is has to be corded, the battery powered ones just don’t have enough power to carve rocks for a reasonable amount of time. The pink grinding stones will work for simpler less detailed carvings as they are not pointy and will wear down as they are used. Diamond burrs are good for adding finer details. The sanding bits will also work for shaping most softer rocks. It’s also important especially when you are new to carving rocks to find rocks that are close to the final shape you are wanting. That’s just the first things I could come up with, if you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask again. Also, if there is anything you were wanting to see me make send in a suggestion. I hope this helped, thanks for your comment and for watching!
