As I say multiple times in the video, please don't poke around in your electronic devices without the proper knowledge of how to do so safely! Learn about how to read schematics, use a multi-meter, discharge capacitors safely, etc. There are potentially lethal voltages that can be stored in the amplifier, if you are at all unsure of yourself - leave any repairs/maintenance to a professional.

Nice video, brother! I´ve been far from UA-cam, but I´m back. Thanks for sharing with us your work on the amp!

I don't use vacuum tube amplifiers now, but I used to. They broke down a lot and I failed to repair them many times. It's great to be able to fix them.👍😃

A bit of electrical know how and willingness to experiment can help save a lot of money when using musical gear. I did a video a while back about repairing guitar cables and talk about basic soldering skills too. I hope you still have your tube amps, they may still be worth quite a bit of money now! Have them checked out by someone Hiro 🙂

I received a massive shock when biasing a Peavey 5150 for a friend. Luckily the power tripped in the building 🤣
Always scares me when I bias my Marshall 6100.

Yikes, that is scary indeed, glad you were OK! Do you have an electrical background? What sources/information did you use to learn how to bias amps?
I wasn't familiar with the 6100 but just looked up some videos/info. It seems like a really cool amp and I enjoyed watching Johan Segeborn's demo of it.

@@hearpalhere I bought a Weber Bias Rite many years ago so I could replace the stock 5881 for 6L6GC in the 6100.
Don't really have much electrical knowledge even though I did electronics at school, built a keyboard for my exam that didn't work.
All I know is that the amp has to be switched on with a load and I need access to the trim pot which is annoyingly located on the circuit board.
Modern amps seem to be much better with bias sockets on the rear.

@@adiohead Absolutely, even for experienced technicians, I'm sure they'd prefer having access to bias controls without having to open up the chassis.

Thanks a lot! Sorry for the delayed reply, trying to get back into youtube after an extended absence. I'll hopefully be making new videos again soon.

Thanks a lot Paulo! I hope you are well... I'm just catching up on my youtube comments and whatnot... a bit ashamed at how long it's taken me 😛

@hearpalhere Hey!! You don't need to feel that way... I've been a bit busy too. Let's see if we can upload some new stuff by the end of the year... 😂
