First time i played ff10 the music in the beginning and the team camping in zanarkand felt kinda sweet but after reaching that point in game knowing what goes through everyones heads it hits so much harder.
I think that was the best charm of the game, the intro giving you the biggest spoiler of the game, but you don't know it until you reach there. That's genius
'You Are Not Alone' ffix is the unofficial theme of the series for me. Stuck in my head since I was a child. But there's so much good music out of these games
8 was fantastic and 13 had some great tracks but the majority are forgettable imo, blinded by light and main theme are the only ones that stuck in my mind. Area themes are lacklustre.
Honestly, I don't think there has been a better saga in history with better soundtracks. Just listening the music I want to play the games again. It's hard to describe in words.
FF13's The Promise hit so different specially at the end of FF13. It's beautifully haunting that it whenever I listen to it, I just stop and stare blank reliving the adventures of Lightning and friends.
13 and 15 have the best soundtracks. I know people didn't like the addition of vocals added into the songs, but they literally make some of the songs 10000% better
unlike top 100 anime openings i see on youtube all the time, this list is amazing. I love it. Brought back memories from the first time i played every one of these games. :')
6 was my first , it wasn’t until 7 that square truly blew me away despite 6 being such an incredible game many choose as their favorite. But it was 10 that had a social effect. I was in college , me and my buddies had a house, we’d throw party’s , had good times, one rule we kinda followed was when girls came over , the games got put up, but FFX , people used to come over just to watch our play through. I think that have been the first game where it didn’t matter at all who was playing or if you liked video games, if you paid attention. You’d be invested soon enough. Oddly 13 is my favorite, I just think it was the right moment where graphics, music and story all come together , and I still like it because ti me it was the last real FF. Unless one day they release one that gets back to the turn based overhead style I love. FF XV was not that great , it was way to short and I miss turn based play. That’s what made FF FF.
Ooo yesss many of my faves are here: Terra's theme, theme of love, Aeriths theme, to zanarkand (my fave version is Mercuzios piano solo of the ending theme), Somnus, valse di fantastica. The ones missing for me are: FF7 prelude and main theme, FF8 eyes on me, FF10 suteki da ne, FF14 flow, FF14 lost city of amdapor, FF14 Torn from the heavens (haven't played FF14 but many great pieces there), oh and Mercuzios piano solo of The Dream Within from the 2001 final fantasy movie!
FF 7 prelude and main theme my favorite too. For eyes on me, melodies of live, suteki da ne is a song for me with lyric so on purpose not in the list. But of course they are my favorite too, even Eyes on me played in my wedding ❤

I was getting near the end of the video and HONESTLY thinking you had skipped To Zanarkand. It's like the only one that you hear at the beginning but means MUCH more when you get to the point it plays.
Interesting order, many people claim 13 as one of it's low points, as well as 15, so I'm glad to see you stuck with it. If you aren't afraid of the older pre-7 games, I would highly suggest 4 and 6. Good stories, interesting characters, and some really solid soundtracks. Since you played ff7, I hope you also tried FF7 Remake, FF7 Rebirth is gonna be great. 12 in my opinion is the low point, story wise.
@@dionvalent3116 Trust me, I had the same mindset since 2014 when I first got into FF, I tried it out this year 2022 and the story progression is so insane, like it's no lesser of a title than any other title. Legit the game is playable alone now as they update to play with NPCs in dungeons.
@@dionvalent3116 As someone who tends to shun multiplayer, I wholeheartedly recommend FFXIV. It's weird for MMOs because its main selling point is its narrative, although its gameplay is certainly no slouch. Having played the base game and all the expansions, I can attest that its story and music are on par - if not even exceeding of - those of the purely singleplayer/offline Final Fantasy installments.
@@dionvalent3116 Uematsu himself declared that Soken, the composer for FFXIV, is his true successor to the series' music. Uematsu was the one who hired and trained him for years after all and Soken's music is god-tier, patch after patch, expansion every expansion. And I'm also a single player FF fan once upon a time, having played all of the mainline titles until I decided to give the game a fair chance. And it's hard to deny how unbelievably talented this man really is, I was completely blown away by the story and the music it's crazy.
Final Fantasy VIII has the strongest overall OST for me, just so many tracks in that game just hit right. Also, missing any version of the Prelude makes me sad.
If you love ff music play World of Final Fantasy! It’s just runs through the old final fantasy games with some character cameos and plays updated versions of all the music kinda plays like Pokémon

FF VIII - I can hear Squall's footsteps roaming around the Balamb Garden , which brings back good childhood memories and experiences.
While I didn't finish XIII or XV (I did play many hours), I'm grateful for what I did play and hearing these tracks while playing

I always thought, Somnus belonged to Noctis and Stella in Final Fantasy Versus XIII not Lunafreya or Final Fantasy XV. OMG my heart won't let go

I play early chapters and quit. My playstyle is to explore slowly. But there is time limit in this game. So I dont like to play in rash.
