Gotta admit I feel bad liking the new one so much, old 300R is ole trusty but the power on the new one is just...kinda perfect to me, like 5 more HP or so and just right. Very similar power delivery just more.
None, fueling is much better to me in fact was just comparing old/new maps and quite a few changes across the board. Not a race tune but a pretty darn clean one. Testing some changes on it tomorrow.
So how is it on technical slow stuff and is the actual weight higher, the site says 256 curb, which by definition is with all fluids. Also, is it snappy enough to lift the front tire when you need to?
Actual weight as I ride it is around 290lbs, lowest I saw the bike without lights and running with fluids was ~266lbs. The bike feels balanced though so it's not hard to keep up on pegs. I can lift the wheel on this one much easier than the old without clutch when in first, throw some clutch in and I've almost looped out but it's still nothing crazy just like 30HP I assume. The original 300R was a competitor to the KLX/CRF series, now I feel it's pushing the WR series and just another option in that group of bikes.
@@SCakey they're getting close with this one. but they should work on the weight. Orange and white in the same class are around 236 unless that is deceptive as well. Every bit counts out there, especially if you ride for a few days at a time. thanks for the post.
@@kamax7672 Yea, to compete with a $10k bike costs more. I'm sure the TSE300 2-stroke will be closer to 260lbs, still heavier but also lighter, we'll see, I don't ever expect these to be the lightest but they are lighter than Japanese offerings.
@@SCakey right, can't have it all. The wr 250 comes in at 290 , and it's probably more. The 300r is a solid choice though, love to see some more content doing some hillclimbs and rough terrain!
@@kamax7672 Yea it's the downside to getting the bike in October, mountains kinda close down this time of year until about April. Need to go south on some desert.
Awesome 👌🏻
I’m about to ride one here soon!!! Can’t wait to try
Stop stop stop! You’re making my want one over my 21.5 300r! Ugh, I guess mine hasn’t left me wanting yet. Maybe if I ever wear it out I’ll upgrade.

is this Colorado/rampart?
Yessir, close riding area for me.
Fuel injection works good? No issues? Any stalling when rolling off the throttle quickly until the ecm learns?

What trail is that?
Little blip of 770 on the more southern end of Rampart, it's nice because not too long if I were to breakdown :). I can show ya.
@@SCakey That would be awesome!
