    On my bike (mash 400cc) i de-catted the exhaust. To make it run better i set it to stay in open loop mode. Now you can change the AFR without the O2 sensor keeping it on 14.6:1. But for idle it wil use close loop. Plus i changed the spark advance. Also turned of the decel enlean for smoother on/off trottle and lowered idle rpm.

    Before you sling a bunch of money into your suspension on this thing, after watching your riding video , I tell you sure that your whole bike is set up to tall by the way the tip One way or the other Every time change direction slightly. Your front end deflects like some sort of 1960s chopper, and that is because the compression dampening is either set to high , or your fork oil is too thick , It could also be that you just have too much fork oil in the forks... lowering the fork oil level will allow the forks to sit lower in the stroke while writing giving you better steering control and better steering angle, and will also make the fort plusher in the upper stroke because the air in the fork won’t get compressed as fast. I also feel that you don’t have quite enough pre-load in the rear end ,which is causing a drastic shift in the steering angle of the front end every time you give it gas ,changing your expectation of directional control ,which makes you ride the bike in an uncontrollable Swervy fashion... If you’ve been riding that Rocky 2 track terrain like in your other video most of the time ,I would say your suspension is plenty well broken in by now... that being said I would back off the compression dampening on the front end and maybe drop the clamps on the forks a good little bit changing the steering angle of the bike and the seating angle of the bike ...that may solve your deflection problem and your squatty rear end problem, it may not though. I’m not familiar with that fork so I can’t comment on where the dampening circuit actually begins to take affect on the fork, but it looks like you’re having a compression problem at absolute impact instantaneously at the front end so that says to me that you probably need to drop the fotk oil level in the fork first ,and and if you are only running a few clicks of compression upfront or haven’t even made it to half of the clickers yet I would definitely drop the fork oil viscosity to the next lower viscosity..

    • @hahayouareanoob
      @hahayouareanoob 5 місяців тому

      Good info but on those Xplor forks they were basically turned out almost max, I could have changed fork height a bit or fork oil but eh, got different carts in there now that I like more. Think I might have been like 2 clicks in from max or something on them most the time. These videos would have been with OEM suspension and what I find on Chinese stuff is it's entirely hit or miss coming from the factory, you can rebuild it and it can be decent but from the factory....eh. Heard one guy got his shock rebuilt after 40-50hrs and had 50psi of charge in it, who knows if it was like that from factory or just leaked. I wanted to try KTech ORVs in these forks but wasn't in the cards with GPX. The squatting rear end might have just been the OEM shock, I have sag set around 35-40mm and rider at ~115-120. Also have no idea when the OEM shock really blew out, I really felt it at like 45hrs going up Red Cone pass, felt like a pogo-stick in back but maybe leaking before that. Will be revisiting these notes again though since I've been diving into suspension a bit more lately for the new year and setup is always important.

    Hey Sam, got my FSE300r. What's your take on the rear shock. Got it at 20 clicks out rebound but just wouldn't let go of the damping. Still at 2 second to return back to uncompressed, harsh on rooted section. Is this normal to a fse300r or maybe its just new. Btw, Did you replace springs for your weight?

    • @hahayouareanoob
      @hahayouareanoob 5 місяців тому

      I didn't dig into that one the same, lucked into a nice WP shock on mine but what I see is Chinese suspension stuff from the factory can be hit or miss like maybe your nitrogen isn't fully charged, maybe it's not bled right, a rebuild can generally make it good. Now I kinda wish I had kept the SZC Linkage shock to take apart but sold it a while back. I didn't replace springs because I'm a small guy and geared up I hit the 155-160lb range.

    earlier this year had similar experience. The compression clicker completely blew out, like it shotgunned out and now have a hole in the shock where it should be, causing all my shock oil to eject with it. These things happen i thought, but what i wasnt expecting was to be completely fobbed off by GPX (UK) since suspension is a 'wearable part''. after trying to explain that this wasnt simply wear but a component/assembly failure according to my suspension tech, i was again given short change and told to send to authorised KTech engineer if i wanted it repaired. When i pressed about wanting at least replacement parts - the compression adjuster assembly - was told there are none, WP stuff all fits, send it to a KTech shop and they can fix it. I now have genuine WP shock with bladder kit and the SZC garbage is where it belongs. For the record i love the bike (FSE250E) but have been left with a sour taste.

    • @hahayouareanoob
      @hahayouareanoob 8 місяців тому

      Yea it's really just not worth servicing them getting answers like that, so few suspension shops will even look at these since they have one-off parts. China loves to do things like use the 'same parts' but change thread pitch in one area so other parts won't fit. GPX will claim their suspensions are good and when they work they aren't bad but fact is they just don't last like WP stuff. It's why I kinda chuckled at the recent Kove bikes early on advertising KYB suspension then switching to....Yu-An for production models. Early reports seem to say "suspension is quite good" but lets see how they last and then how repairable it is, I have some doubts. :)

    I'm so glad I saw this. I was planning to order a TSE300 on Friday. Never mind. Looks like a used KTM is the answer.

      And I'm not trying to deter folks from buying these but I do think people should be aware of what it involves. I've bought (3) GPX bikes over the last few years, I was fairly 'ready' for China-quirks with this TSE300 but even I've been a bit surprised by some of the issues I've seen. Like I said, no ill will towards GPX, I bought these bikes out of curiosity to see what China could offer and I feel I understand that now. Personally to go back, I could have bought a used KTM last fall for $6k, rebuilt it over the winter and had a better bike for this year while doing roughly the same amount of work but that's me personally.

      To be clear, it isn't problems I'm worried about. To have them "write you off" and then send an obviously bent part to fix it yourself, after you paid them to rebuild the shock for youis absolutely terrible service. I can spend less money and get vastly better service. That's the issue.
