You'll never be here, it's hard to explain
Psychic trauma, returns with age
There's nothing new here, no room to relate
I don't know what you're trying to say
Try to stop it, try to feel something
But nothing happens, I stay the same
Is it alright to end up this way?
Life gets boring, it fades away
I can't believe that what you're telling me is true
My mind is always wasted listening to you
You'll never be here, it's hard to explain
Psychic trauma, returns with age
There's nothing new here, no room to relate
I don't know what you're trying to say
Try to stop it, try to feel something
But nothing happens, I stay the same
Is it alright to end up this way?
Life gets boring, it fades away
I can't believe that what you're telling me is true
My mind is always wasted listening to you

I hate & love the lyrics because they feel TRUE.. well anyhow to my life…
A co-worker told me to check out Cloud Nothings. I listened to the first CD, and thought it was pretty cool. They were a big part of the reason I decided to attend Riot Fest. They played this song in their set, and it got stuck in my head. It'll probably end up in my rotation. I want to listen to more, but it's a lot of material to take in, at once.
Check these out:
1. Our Plans (Attack on memory)
2. Just see fear (Here and nowhere else)
3. Things are right with you (Life without sound)
4. Another way of life (Last building burning)
5. The room it was (The shadow I remember)
One of the best drummers I've seen in my life. And I've seen a lot! Punk version of Pavement is a good qualification!
Dude, the man was -warming up- doing that super hard single stick drum roll. He's super creative and gave it like, everything he had. His snare tuning was odd to me- like, a sound hit softer you'd think the snares were off or something. But how he hits the drum so incredibly hard, live- it translates like a chef's kiss. I love Pavement by the way. The intro to "Grounded" kills me, how it rushes the snare fills. I've concluded it's 100% intentionally foreshadowing the tempo that the verse takes. What I mean is, the intro is maybe like 10 BPM slower than the verse and he's playing that RLRL snare fill at THAT tempo, but in the intro. Man, loveee it.
This is the currency of music imo. I turned on Psychic Trauma because it was in my head as I awoke, and happened to click the music vid, and now I'm spreading my cheer n' shi in the comments with like-minded people. Punkrock is Love.
Currently my #1 song of the year from my #1 album of the year.
Same.
What's in your top 3?
fucktheutubeusername For top 3 songs, I've got:
3) The Black Keys -"Year In Review"
2) Spoon - "Rainy Taxi"
1) These guys, this song
For top 3 albums, I'd have to say:

Sounds like a punk version of Pavement
Yup, kinda, but that's a good thing.
you´re right but some joy division would be missing
drummer4916 like a non-shit version of pavement
John DeBoice I´m not trying to start a fight but God No! Pavement is much much better in sound, originality and songwriting. Whatever, opinions right?
Storanzo98 I could never figure out why I hate pavement so much and you're probably right. But yeah, I'm just talking out of my ass,
Might be the single most kickass tune I've heard this year. And that's saying a lot.
please make "no thoughts" to be the next one !!
Seeing them at Irving Plaza was easily one of the best live performances I've ever experienced
I was there too! My throat hurt from screaming so loud!
Lucky people!
fuck yes. here and nowhere else is aoty
the drumming towards the end totally makes this song
the drummer is absolutely nuts live...Like giving it 1,000% when 99.8% is necessary. He truly gets rad. I also love his style; the way that he drums. It's different. Something about it. He's a killer though for sure. Love it. His name is Jayson Gerycz if I'm not mistaken. Was a true joy to watch him go HAM at the Black Cat recently.
Also, have you heard their most recent album (2020...? I think)? The first song has this crescendo of death and man, do the drums add to it so nicely. I like how he isn't, and the band for that matter, picks up the tempo and takes it down as necessary. It's like- before "beats per minute"(BPM, tempo etc), they have Rad Per Second setting for each segment. It's natural how it fluctuates and isn't always perfect. Speeds up, slows down, kind of like Hendrix and his epic drummer Mitch Mitchell. It's not a quantized grid.
Also shout out to Dylan Baldi (vox, guitar etc) for informing the audience that he was actually sick from food poisoning/bad food from a vegetarian restaurant nearby. I cannot fking imagine still guttural screaming with a nauseous stomach. True champ. I'd have never known based on the show they put on. Can you imagine how aggressively they play and just being like "ur on in 5" and you're nauseous? That's what I'm TALKING about, sir. Punk as fu*k. Show must go on...
Interpol+title fight= Cloud nothings
truuuue
Great! I love it, especially the fact that it starts at a slower tempo, then at 0:44 the turbulence starts
I'd like to hear a version that's all at the slower tempo
Aaaaaaaaaah sweet tunes, let me get comforta...... waaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!
You're great musicians! Fuck, i wish i could se you all in live at least one time.

The album has kind of grown off of me. But this song is still fucking great
Adhesive Boi I felt the same way about the album after listening to it like 30 times but I just listened to it again today and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time I heard it
album all sounds the same, but at least it's a good sound
The song f****** rocks
Dylan hairflippin at 1:37
Id love to hear a instrumental only version of this
I can play air guitar a bit.... will that work?
This song is always on in Hard Rock Cafe
Drums starting at 2:24.
Drew Guarini Probably my favorite drummer in today's rock music.
They built their group around the drummer I think... he's the best one
Esse baterista é muito brabo
I want to hear them live! ❤️
Spring shows in the Midwest
They're incredible live. See my comments to @JT above for the half essay. lol

Pink guy yeah I know. My brother showed me a video of him cooking rats 👌
Faith Ike-Elechi That's nothing compared to recent videos
I didn't expect the tempo change, good shit.
they get down like that. super organic
does this tune remind anyone else of Disorder by Joy Division?
Hell yes
Nahhh
These guys definitely have timing issues
my mind is always wasted listenin' to you ...
Rape the replay button!
It's ok I guess
What kind of lens/effect did they use filming this video? I love it...
It's called anaglyph, normally used for 3d.... Done very well!

🇧🇷
These guys definitely have timing issues
I have to say, that "out of time" sound has been popping up more and more and I fuckin love it. After hearing all this overprocessed, mass produced, garbage pop music from Drake, Justin Bieber, Kanye and others like them, it's a breath of fresh air to hear actual music made by actual musicians.
sounds all right to me
Can anyone tell me what genre does this song fit into?
More like lo-fi punk
darthmon26 with a dab of grunge
Noisy post punk that's very lo fi
love the song but the singer needs to act like he's at a concert and not like he's bored :P
lol dylan's face. not convincing at all
