I LOVE the banana boat simply protect sunscreens. Yesterday, a friend said to me, “what highlighter are you wearing on your cheekbones? It looks so nice!” I was like, “girl, it’s my sunscreen.” 🤣🤣 I gave her my backup bottle. Hey, whatever gets someone to start wearing sunscreen, right?
ALLYSUN I use the banana boat simply protect baby version. It’s the one that Dr. Dray pointed to on the shelf with the pink cap. At Target, it’s like $7. I love it, and I use it year round. I also use “Altruist” sunscreen, but that one you have to order on Amazon from the UK. I used Dr. Drays link in her description box to pick that one up. Super affordable, and comes in a big pump bottle if you want the big size. 👌
ALLYSUN I used to do some freelance makeup artistry years back, and we used to use sunscreen to make the models or photo subjects glossy. To this day, I don’t use an actual cosmetic highlighter...just sunscreen! 🤣😂
I was interested in th Banana Boat sunscreen after Dr Dray pointed it out and you've just sealed it for me, so thanks. Highlighter AND sun protection in one, yes please!! 😄
I love your logical approach to skin care. Further your cynicism and criticism of the beauty/fashion industry is extremely commendable. I wish more women were like that!
Good grief! With all the complaints about white cast or heavy, greasy feel in actual sunscreens I cant imagine that anyone would want to put diaper cream on! Vanicream Shampoo for Dandruf/ Seborrheac Dermatitis is the only one I have tried that doesnt adversely affect my hair. Love the "Dr. Dray Drive By Hits" at the drugstore. Cheers!
I asked Dr. Dray about using diaper rash cream for my mild eczema on my upper thigh and apparently she didn't know. @@cassiebrown9786 I agree about being our own advocates but a big part of that is research of ingredients and intelligent decision making. If there is no testing on a product in terms of sunscreen filters and there are hundreds of tested SPF products to choose from then as an intelligent advocate the choice seems pretty clear. My experience with using thick, occlusive diaper rash ointment on children and grandchildren for many years and trying to wash it off my hands after applying it to bottoms makes me wonder why in the world would anyone want to put it on their face. Maybe this came from the same old ideas about putting toothpaste on blemishes, scrubbing your face with baking soda or using ACV as a toner which all originated in a time when we didnt have so many efficatious products to choose from. Cheers!
Sometimes people don't have enough money to buy sunscreen and if they already have diaper cream at home, they can think of maybe using that. I've been there. Sometimes you just don't have any money. At all.
I had a humanitarian trip to Costa Rica and lived with families there. After a day a the beach, and every 15 minutes suncreen application, hat and shade almost the entire time I still managed to get burned with my fragile skin. My arms where swelling and my mom in my family there used baby rash cream and they explained that the zinc in that cream was what was helping the skin. My sunburns got somuch better and the swelling reduced!
Thank you so much for sharing all your insights! I've been incorporating your advise since last August and my skin has visibly improved over these past 6 months. My main concern has always been hyperpigmentation as a result of acne and both have dramatically reduced. No acne, and one side of my face is completely clear of hyperpigmentation - the other side takes a little bit longer but I see the improvements there as well. This is the regimen I've stuck to for the past 6 months: Morning: Cereva Hydration Facial Cleanser Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream Melano Vitamin C Cereva Moisturizing Cream Elta MD UV Physical Broad Spectrum SPF 41 Evening: MUJI Oil Cleanser Cereva Hydration Facial Cleanser Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Cereva Moisturizing Cream Twice a week in the evening: COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask
Charli Writes - I have been using the HADA LABO gel for a couple of years - it has 'cones'. You may see faster results by putting your actives on BEFORE the HADA LABO. Then if you still need something heavier over the top of the gel, go ahead.
Yeah, I've been trying to stay away from hidroquinone and try gentler products instead :) This works, it may take a little longer but that's alright. @@ericmartin9569
Dr dray I took your advice and used a hyaluronate based “ampoule” along with vaniply and seal e erything in with a bland moisturizer or my spf and I’ve never seen my PIH fade so quickly. I even put some silicone sheets I have in storage from when I tried to treat my keloids on some recent cosmetic mole removal and the redness was gone overnight after they scabbed off. Frankly, I was shook 🤣
I was on a flight once and the lady across from me misted her face at least 30 times with Vichy water her skin must have been so tight. I used to do that in high school thinking it was moisturizing lol.
I have sensitive skin and a mild case of Rosacea, but I never seem to do well with Aveeno products. As per Dr. Dray's advice, CeraVe has been very good with my skin.
As always, thank you for another good video! I can personally attest to ketoconazole being great on the scalp. I struggle with dandruff and psoriasis. When I use the ketoconazole I have growth of new hairs that aren’t suffocated anymore by the scalp issues.
I can’t remember now how I came across Dr.Dray’s videos, but I’m so glad I did! I’ve completely overhauled my entire skincare regime from head to toe. Thank you Dr, you’re amazing. Keep on debunking the skincare claims of so many companies. ❤️
I have been loving Prosacea! I don’t use it everyday, but I use it to spot treat areas prone to breakouts. It works much faster than any other spot treatment I have tried. Reduces inflammation and speeds up healing!
Dr. - Ty for sharing your wonderful and vast knowledge! Please know we are out here loving you and your videos! I hope that you get as much enjoyment out of making them- as I do watching them!
So helpful and informative! I've learned so much from watching your dermatology videos and skin care reviews that I make smarter choices and don't waste a lot of money on products that don't work. I'm a 50's and 60's child and former Sun worshiper. I visited a dermatologist for the first time a year ago due to a tiny basal cell carcinoma on my face and now go back every 6 months to make sure I'm skin cancer free. We're able to share and compare products and information because of what I've learned from you. Thank you!
I was so happy when I saw that Cerave is now being officially sold in Slovakia& Czech republic, but after I got some products I was surprised they had NO parabens in the ingredients list. Then I remembered the same thing is with Neutrogena products here
I was able to pick up a 225ml tube of Aveeno's Daily Moisturizering Lotion yesterday 40% off from Priceline here in Australia. I was tempted to go for the bigger one but wasn't sure if I'd like it -- turns out I do. Thanks for suggesting that one in another vid, I never would have even considered it if you hadn't mentioned and recommended it.
So great, as always! I wish people realized that it’s important to preserve cosmetics and to keep them stable over time. I bought some handmade soap on Etsy, and it grew mold on it! It was difficult to notice because I shower in the morning when I’m exhausted and bleary-eyed. Plus, my eyesight is terrible, and I don’t wear glasses in the shower. On top of that, there were herbs in the soap that surfaced over time, and it camouflaged the mold, and the texture was slimy from the get go. I have no idea how long I was enthusiastically rubbing mold all over my body 🙈😩😖🤮 NEVER AGAIN.
She's so right; my daughter into the teenage years has tried this and that, went to a dermatologist. And her skin is a mess. I think she just has really sensitive skin. We went to a hotel one time and the pillow case sent her face into a tizzy. That was the one time and only time a doctor said it was okay to use hydrocortisone on the face. I think the more stuff you use, try, the more confusing it gets. We do not use hydrocortisone on a regular basis though because I think they said it was a cousin to a steroid. Then you get into makeup, even a popular noncomedogenic one (won't say name) also caused a mess with her face (stinging).
This video was crazy helpful. Ilove watching sneak around the store. 😉 But the amount if information is incredibly helpful. I have rosacea, seb. dermatitis, chronic inflammation, super sensitive skin. So when you talk in broad medical terms about how these ingredients affect my body it gives me a better ability to make good choices. Rock on Dr Dray.
Please do more videos covering drugstore products that would be suitable in using for cystic acne :,( I struggle so bad. Love your videos. Thanks for everything so far. Your channel is gold. And you are amazing for your vids.
Hi Dr. Dray! Thanks for doing these walk through videos, it really helps keep me from being so overwhelmed when I'm in the skin care aisle! I was wondering if you might consider doing a video on ferments? I've recently discovered Shark Sauce by Holy Snails and the ingredients seem great but I'm not so sure about ferments for the skin, they seem kinda gimmicky to me. I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks so much, I hope your day is as awesome as you are 😊
My favorite skin care you tuber always giving real reviews on products you have changed the way I look at products with fragrance I’ve recommended your channel to many of my friends who need a little help with finding the right skin care love you 💙💙💙
Dr Dray when you say that it's a good idea to combine the Free and Clear shampoo with Nizoral do you mean alternating days or use both at the same time?
These reviews are so helpful! I feel lucky that I'm able to buy the LaRoche Posay sunscreens where I live. The one thing I struggle with is trying to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn't irritate my eyes. I must have super sensitive eyes! It is so frustrating.
I commend your honesty and high quality of care for your YT "patients." Thanks to you, I'm double-cleansing, preventing TEWL, and using sunscreen regularly. People do not believe I have rosacea. Have a great day, dear Dr. Dray!!
Dr Dray so glad I found you, I have extremely sensitive skin all products would burn or itch my face. When you said use vanicream, it works great!, facial wash & moisturizer worked excellent!! Thanks so much for sharing that info! Your the best I’m a new subscriber & enjoy your videos!
Your channel has changed my life. I have become more conscious of the products I buy. I am not relying anymore to the product bandwagon which costs us more in the end.
The Rogaine foam leaves a sticky residue and it is actually hard to "spread" around. I've found that using the liquid at night on damp hair is the best. I use 5% once a day.
Hello there! I'm taking isotretinoin and the Mineral 89 serum along with the CeraVe Moisturising Cream is a lifesaver for my dry skin! You rock Dr. Dray!💗🙌🙌🙌
I loooove the drugstore videos it really helped me a lot when I went to USA to do my shopping. I only bought your recommendations and now I have much better skin... most of drugs store products from USA are really expensive or don’t exist in my country... thank u so much dr. Dray 🥰🥰
I’ve learned a lot from Cruelty Free Kitty online. I’m trying so hard not to buy products that test on animals but it’s really difficult. One thing I learned was all the “parent” companies that produce these products and sell in China. It’s quite interesting who owns what too. If your product is sold in China (there are many) and maybe other countries test on animals too, it is mandatory the product be tested on animals. I really enjoy your videos though. I heard about you from Dr. Davin Lim when he was doing a drugstore video. Love him too.
OMG...I have become a label reading convert thanks to you!!! All of the ingredients listed on products...now I am learning what to stay away from and what to spend my hard earned $$$ on. You are my product guru.
The aveeno sunscreens to the right including the baby one have 3oz instead of 2 & the same formula. I use the baby on my whole family. It’s got a white cast but one of only sunscreens I can use.
You gave good information as usual(esp loved the info on shaving blades, hair regrowing products and free and clear, and Nixoral shampoos).Had my notebook out taking notes as usual when I watch your videos😆.
I wish the La Roche Posay wasn't so expensive, and I hope other companies will put that ingredient in their sunscreens. It is so overwhelming with all the products out there, so ty for making sense of it all.
I love the Nutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. I get it at CVS when they have their BOGO sales on Nutrogena products. The sales always coincide with coupons in the papers. Great for for fellow bargain hunters 😉
You have helped me so much with my rosacea and friendly products. What you said about the Olay line and how many choices has always been my problem I get overwhelmed and usually walk away with nothing . You are a god send have a wonderful day.
I always have such terrible breakouts right where my bra goes when I work out.I chamge my bra and also shower so I'm thinking maybe I'll try that antiseptic. Thanks as always for the great info!
I’d really really recommend trying or reviewing the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume (if you haven’t already)! I have very acne prone skin and I use a retinol at night. After starting the retinol, my skin drastically improved but I started developing dying/peeling around my chin. I tried the Baume, wary that it would break me out, but it helped with my peeling and also speed up the process of my healing acne!
I’ve been using Banana Boat for Kids for years, when I don’t mind having a white cast. I’m excited to see that they now have a sensitive skin combination sunscreen. I found the Free and Clear shampoo at Target, it’s a bit cheaper. My favorite is Paula’s Choice shampoo and conditioner, but it’s pricey. Thanks for the reviews!
Michelle Tidler I don’t color my hair, but it is drying for my gray hair without the conditioner. The conditioner makes the difference for me. Also, I don’t wash my hair every day. I just wash my bangs every day because my forehead gets oily. Another thing I do, I use the CeraVe Cream as a leave in conditioner. I put a small amount on wet hands and run it through my hair, then comb it through. It works great!
Loved this video!! The Walgreens skin care review was sooo interesting!! I learn alot about so many products for sure!! Thank you as always for a Fantastic review!! Please enjoy the rest of your Day!!
So, is the Neutrogena hydroboost city shield eye a better choice than the Vichy Mineral 89 booster? I wasn't really clear on that but definitely want to get one of them.
Hi Dr. Dray! Another Vichy Minerale 89 fan here. After I heard several flight attendants raving about it, I gave it a try--great stuff! Good deal when Walgreens has their mix and match sale, or CVS sends a 30% off coupon :)
Dr. Dray, do you think the Free & Clear Medicated Anti-dandruff Shampoo would make a good daily cleanser for skin without any particular issues or do you think it may be too harsh when used on the face regularly?
Dr. Dray, can you clarify how often we should use the anti-dandruff shampoos for the benefits of zinc pyrithione, which you mentioned in one of your most recent videos? Once a week? Or are you specifically saying we shouldn’t be using zinc p on the face???
@@barbilove1698 I was replying/asking clarification from dr. dray about her response of "no." Does she mean don't use it on the face at all? Or, you can use it on your face, but not daily? If so, how often...specifically talking about the face here--not body.
When I went for PT on my hands after Carpal Tunnel surgery, the Hand Therapist told me NOT to wear the silicone strip all the time but to only wear it when sleeping. She said if you wear it all the time, doing that can cause a different type of skin condition. You don’t want to keep it constantly moist. But treatment varies depending on the type of scar & it may not be effective for everyone.
Love the shopping videos ! Happy Tuesday everyone 😁 I’ve noticed in EU that Head & Shoulders have changed their active ingredient. Instead of zinc pyrithione it’s something called piroctone olamine. How does this compare for dandruff and Seb derm ? Thanks Dr Dray 🇪🇸😘
if you don't have huge fragrance allergy, this won't work, but you can use the medical shampoos for scalp, then follow with your normal conditioner just on the hair. i find it helps me - but i have wavy thick hair and don't style it, i just put it in pony tail. but my constantly itchy scalp isn't anymore thanks to all the info learned from Dr Dray! so i doubt this will work for everyone who styles their hair, but it's worth a try!
Joan Vignocchi Me too. I struggle with the “leave on” time with the shampoo tho because I also like to leave my conditioner on for 5-10 minutes. Then sometimes even a hair mask/treatment. Makes for a long shower time. Which isn’t *always* a bad thing, but it isn’t for “quick shower” days. 😊
@@Pamela-B i cut my hair to save water in our SoCal droughts but now i'm not working so can't afford a cut - and it's all grown out so just to rinse my Tsubaki conditioner out of my hair takes forEVER - ugh! but learning about salicylic acid for scalp was really helpful. i have been using cerave SA body wash, then do the face and essential areas, then rinse, then condition. literally after 25 years of scratching my head, i "fixed" it with the cerave body wash after 2 uses. watching these videos showed me what ingredients to look for. so grateful! i would never have thought to go to a dermatologist for a concern like this, i just thought i had hard water or that it was life. i save doctor visits for the important stuff and have never even been to a dermatologist. so this is really a huge public service.
@@qingdaogrrl i'm using a salicylic acid shampoo, it's only 10 dollars and you can get it on iherb. It's called HomeHealth anti dandruff shampoo. I have the unscented version
Hi Dr Dray! I love these "Shop with ME" videos!! I've been using Rogaine for a few years. I'm interested in adding Nizoral shampoo to the mix to try and add density to my hair. How often do I need to use it in order for it to be effective? Do I need to keep it on my scalp for a certain length of time? I don't have dandruff or any other scalp condition. I look forward to your videos every day! I appreciate you so much. Thank you.
Julie McMahan I would also like to know the answers to your questions. I know it can dry out your hair a lot. So it would be nice to know how long to leave it on the scalp.
Hi! Love you and all of the videos shopping with you! *I have a question!* I can’t figure it out myself so could you comment on how different Aveeno, Cetaphil, and Cerave are? I am currently trying to find which one works the best but I’m also not sure if it’s in my head since they all seem so similar. I have dry skin specifically on my neck and eczema on my eyelids. Thank you! Love and appreciate you! 🖤💜💙💛💗
I'm so happy you gave a green light to the Vichy Mineral 89 booster because it's the only dupe for the Neutrogena gel cream that I've found in my country..
Does sunscreen prevent skin sagging? I know that it prevents wrinkles and hyperpigmentation but what about sagging? I can't find any scientific data on the internet.
Can you make a video on the condition you mentioned about the boils in the armpit and groin area? Hi Frisia I think you said? Need to know how to use with hibaclens. Also, can we use salycilic acid products in this area or no?
I use the banana boat simply protect baby it's wonderful. For folks living along the US/Mexico border La Roche Posay, Avene, and Vichy less expensive in Mexico
Thank you for sharing your wealth of information with us as always! Can you use the hydro boost gels in the morning too if you are using sunscreen as your moisturizer? Just wondering if it will work since a lot of sunscreens are water resistant? If so, would this be just better to use hydro boost gels in the PM and then moisturize or can we do it in AM and PM?
Yes, thank youuuuu for going back to Walgreens! Love these videos! And truly, I'm so thankful for your content. After hours and hours of binging your videos, taking notes, and following your recommendations, my skin has changed for the better. Not to mention my wallet! Keep up the hard work!

I think I could listen to you until 2 batteries ran out. ♥
Something that helped me and has continued to do so.... don’t shave as often. I read it in a magazine or something back in college and it worked great! Hope this helps!
Loved this video! So practical. So far I'm mostly sticking to the basics. It's working! I do use DEJ eye cream that's working to really decrease the depth of my wrinkles around my eyes. It came from my dermatologist. I layer that and CeraVe.

This is the regimen I've stuck to for the past 6 months:
Morning:
Cereva Hydration Facial Cleanser
Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream
Melano Vitamin C
Cereva Moisturizing Cream
Elta MD UV Physical Broad Spectrum SPF 41
Evening:
MUJI Oil Cleanser
Cereva Hydration Facial Cleanser
Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Cereva Moisturizing Cream
Twice a week in the evening:
COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask
Charli Writes - I have been using the HADA LABO gel for a couple of years - it has 'cones'. You may see faster results by putting your actives on BEFORE the HADA LABO. Then if you still need something heavier over the top of the gel, go ahead.
Thanks for the advise! I'll give it a go :) @@pickledginger5876
You can try AMBI fade cream with hidroquinone for your hyperpigmentation. Cheap and effective..
Yeah, I've been trying to stay away from hidroquinone and try gentler products instead :) This works, it may take a little longer but that's alright. @@ericmartin9569
What do you use for the hyperpigmentation from your acne? I've been incorporating Dr. Dray's advice for breakouts and my skin has never looked better.
Frankly, I was shook 🤣
so glad to hear!
I Dream of Peony Do you know what video she recommended this in?
15:02 Mario Badescu has left the chat
The videos when you go to stores are great! My second favorite to the ones about effective ingredients! Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching!
We love you Dr Dray ♡
Thanks for watching and happy Monday!!
You just made my crappy Monday a whole lot happier! Yay for dr Dray 😊 😊 😊
We do
I have been loving Prosacea!
I hope that you get as much enjoyment out of making them- as I do watching them!
thanks for watching!
I have no idea how long I was enthusiastically rubbing mold all over my body 🙈😩😖🤮 NEVER AGAIN.
yikes! yeah that is a definite downside to no preservatives...shelf life is short and stability questionable
Rock on Dr Dray.
thanks!
Wondering the same...
I love watching her just going to random drugstores and explaining us things. I can watch it all day long.
thanks for watching!
These reviews are so helpful! I feel lucky that I'm able to buy the LaRoche Posay sunscreens where I live. The one thing I struggle with is trying to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn't irritate my eyes. I must have super sensitive eyes! It is so frustrating.
Thank you yet again Dr Dray. You truly are skin saviour. Not to mention the stress.
thanks for watching!
Dr. Dray I use the $1 zinc oxide from Walgreens and it did calm my hand ezcema/dermatitis. It was pretty messy though.
I commend your honesty and high quality of care for your YT "patients." Thanks to you, I'm double-cleansing, preventing TEWL, and using sunscreen regularly. People do not believe I have rosacea. Have a great day, dear Dr. Dray!!
Dr Dray..when you do a Walgreens skin care video I get sooo happy!!! Thank you for sharing all your tips!!!YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Happy Monday!
With 25 + years as a practicing skin care specialist im grateful for your channel and learn something new on a regular basis. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Omg yes! Love your drugstore videos.
thanks for watching!
Love Vanicream! I use the cleanser and lite lotion and my face is happy, happy, happy!
The aveeno sunscreens to the right including the baby one have 3oz instead of 2 & the same formula. I use the baby on my whole family. It’s got a white cast but one of only sunscreens I can use.
If you ever come to Canada please go to Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall! We have similar products but they’re also different ones.
You're just the greatest giving us all this information we generally wouldn't know. I know I've changed a lot of things I've been doing. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
You gave good information as usual(esp loved the info on shaving blades, hair regrowing products and free and clear, and Nixoral shampoos).Had my notebook out taking notes as usual when I watch your videos😆.
Your channel is amazing! Changed my entire understanding of skin care
10:14 that big "nope" and walk away xD
im glad im not the only who noticed that. But if i saw dr. dray i would probably go right up to her.
Hahaha! That was so funny 😆
OMG! I would die! You'll have a nice stalker. Promised!!!
Great for for fellow bargain hunters 😉
this is me yessss
I tried the Baume, wary that it would break me out, but it helped with my peeling and also speed up the process of my healing acne!
i talked about that very recently and mention it my ulta video
You should do shampoos and conditioners next !!!! -:)
Happy Monday!
Does the free and clear dry your hair out ? Ive been wanting to try it but was told it would dry out my colored hair.
Please enjoy the rest of your Day!!
thanks for watching!
Dr Dray You are so Welcome Dr. Dray!! Hope you having a Beautiful Day!! Always!! xox
I can’t begin to thank you enough for taking the time do all these videos for us
thanks for watching!
I love these store videos
thanks for watching!
I learn so much from you Dr. Dray!! Esp stay away from things with fragrances. Thank you!!🤗
Diaper cream is the only zit spot treatment that works for me, it can dry out my white head over night.
Great tip with the Hibicleanse as a travel hand sanitizer!! I love what Free and Clear does to make the hair soft and shiny without irritation. ☺
Dr. Dray, do you think the Free & Clear Medicated Anti-dandruff Shampoo would make a good daily cleanser for skin without any particular issues or do you think it may be too harsh when used on the face regularly?
no
Dr. Dray, can you clarify how often we should use the anti-dandruff shampoos for the benefits of zinc pyrithione, which you mentioned in one of your most recent videos? Once a week? Or are you specifically saying we shouldn’t be using zinc p on the face???
@@DrDrayzday no re using as a cleanser, or no - not too harsh?
@@21972012145525 I think in a video on zp Dr D mentioned several times a week?
Happy Tuesday everyone 😁
I’ve noticed in EU that Head & Shoulders have changed their active ingredient.
That's what I do! Head and shoulders or something similar in the scalp, regular old conditioner on the rest

I can't find any scientific data on the internet.
you have me using spf & Cerave 19oz tub moisturizer after shower no more towels so easy to spread no more itching .....Thanks
Can you make a video on the condition you mentioned about the boils in the armpit and groin area? Hi Frisia I think you said? Need to know how to use with hibaclens. Also, can we use salycilic acid products in this area or no?
*Hidrosis.
It sounds like you’re talking about Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

I just adore your vlogs, whether you're walking in Walmart or chatting with us while you drive.
I was afraid I'd spend years in Sephora trying and failing to find a solution. With proper moisturizer, like Cerave and sunscreens, my skin has improved before my eyes. Thank you so, so much! Keep up the hard work!
