- More than four decades have passed since Ridley Scott graced us with the first Alien film. It was dark, introspective, thrilling, and compelling. But even after these four long decades, people’s love for Xenomorphs doesn’t seem to die. A plethora of factors contribute to this unyielding craze and fan following. To discuss the legacy and influence of Aliens would take another video altogether. However, one of the most important factors is the lore that the Alien films build around. In this video, we will introduce you to thirteen variations of the most useful and powerful caste of Aliens, i.e., the Xenomorph Queen herself. Her Highness shall be given her due respect and not taken lightly. She forms the basis of a Xenomorph Hive by serving as its mother and leader. She not only lays and protects the eggs but is also the strongest and most enormous of the Xenomorphs. And may the good Lord save the people or organisms that seek to hurt her hive or eggs because it is beyond doubt that she will come for you.
There have been various fascinating versions of the Queen. So, let’s start this thrill ride, shall we?

@@ttyngordon well its organic material needed, so the queen at that time was able to create multiple standard, while only having just adapted with the limited and incomplete DNA , considering it's a descendent clone, sort of like using the same grounds to make multiple servings of coffee. it's weird yes but most I can think of. well guess I could gone more like water and food, where she had plenty of standard while limited human resources.

Xenomorphs are simply brutal, bizarre but fantastic creatures, cinema wouldn´t be the same without them

So true.....I've watched Alien 1-3,Prometheus and Alien Covanant lately and man....its so cool when you think about the fact that the black goo helped create (depending on the host)certain aliens with certain characteristics; taking on human and animal traits that make it a more effective hunter and killer! I'm endlessly fascinated with the Prometheus/Alien universe. Everything about it!
If always felt the Xenomorphs ability to take on the characteristics of what ever it infects was fascinating. It’s almost like a virus or somthing.

My favorite xenomprph mentioned is the video would definitely have to be NewBorn, I remember seeing Newborn and initially thinking “oh dear god please kill it with fire or chuck it out the airlock” but towards the end of the movie when it finally was killed I felt remorse for the thing, it was clearly more human than Xeno, yet still too far from humanity that it couldn’t be spared. It showed it had emotion and limited consciousness, from fear to empathy, rage and pain. It was an extremely unique take on a xenomorph and in a way, it was beautiful

than years later in a prequel movie. the xenomorphs are indeed part human. and in the comics and the newborn the xenos are starting to take human form. and like every writer they think all life have to be human shape form in order to be smart. and that's just annoying. like what's happening with star trek, doctor who and a few other shows and movies. but thank god every once in awhile not every fucking life have to be human form to show how smart they are. I guessing with Xenos if you think about the reds for a sec. maybe there some xenos that want to evolve in different ways and not all xeno think the same. showing hints they have similar thoughts that we do.
Yeah, it was nod at how we should not play as gods. We will create abominations like that. Somewhere out there, stuff like this goes down.. hybrid species.. maybe bred for slave work or as beings with specific DNA that makes them malformed to perform certain tasks.(seen a video about Future Humans that intrigued me)

Over the years I've run simulations in my head on how I would a survive particular monster or calamity but of all the pop culture monsters, Xenomorphs are the only beings I could never survive.
Nuke the site from orbit its the only way to be sure.

My favorite Xenomorph Queen is Specimen 6. From one of the Alien vs Predator games. 6 probably most highly intelligent Xenomorph Queen out of all Zenomorph Queens alike.

Great video as I love the alien franchise, only gripe is referring to facehuggers as chestbursters. With Ripley in resurrection her dna was mixed with with the alien dna and vice verse, that’s why the queen was able to give birth with a womb and present us with a more humanoid alien offspring.

9:54 the reason for the change was just like how Ripley had remnants of the queens DNA giving her enhanced human abilities and acid blood so to did the queen inherit human qualities like a womb for child the child even thought Ripley was its mom.
For the cloned queen couldn't it be argued that during the cloning process some human DNA was integrated into Xenomorph same way xenomorph DNA got integrated in Ripley
Just like how the Ripley clone had acidic blood, and fantastic instincts just like the Xenomorphs do. The cloning process mixed the DNA around between the two of them, it's part of why it took so many tries just to get the right one so they could get the queen out. If you look at the scene where Ripley finds the lab with the other 7 clones, you'll see some of them come out with much more Alien like appearances than she did. They fused too much with the queen herself, and weren't viable to extract the queen embryo from.

That's actually exactly what happened. It even says so in the movie, there was genetic cross contamination in the cloning process.
The reason why the cloned queen could give birth was because she had human dna in her which Ed caused a human xenomorph hybrid to be born

And there are so many good locations within the game, movie and comic universe to spring up another AVP.
E.g. within the Alien King vs. Queen comic line. Imagine battling yautja and aliens across a walkway high above when explosions and screeches of battle explode between king and queen, with your choices deciding the victor.
The fact that a engineer faced the moon queen head on, let's you know how much raw power the trilobite had in Prometheus.

AvP Extinction was such a good game!!!! I played it for hours on end. I NEVER hear or see anyone mentioning it when discussing Alien games! I was starting to think I imagined the game lol
The 'red queen' and 'red drones' are not actually red. They were just colored different in the novel to make it easier to distinguish between the two factions.
They need a new aliens movie asap

Though the Droid likely created the biomechanical ones we know and love there are probly primal ones as well. Species can vary and those eggs were created from if I remember right stuff found on that ship. Trying to rationalize the universe is just insanity just easier to enjoy.
There’s no such thing as red or green Xenos. The choice to give them different colours was so the readers didn’t have to guess whom belonged to which hive, otherwise we’d only see a sea of black.

A Xenomorph king is just a human creation, not natural. There was only ever one and it was just a science experiment. The king fought a queen and she beat his ass. The Xeno queen is still the OG.

I wonder why no one comments that technically predalien can't have dreadlocks simply because, based on the AvP book with Machiko Noguchi as the main character, it is said that Yautja were doing their dreadlocks when they become adolescents, and it was quite a painful procedure. So if talking about predalien "hair", well, it should be some kind of an afro or idk, bcs surely no one could do dreadlocks to the predalien.

I just imagine the dreads are a form of sensory tendril and thus are sometimes necessary to retain in the xenomorph form, like a Twi-lek's lekku maybe, but less integral to brain function.
They're not supposed to be actual dreadlocks, it's supposed to be a cluster of tentaclelike growths that they have instead of hair, that's why the Aliens can inherit them.
One thing people don't know about Xenomorphs, they weren't always like when we see them.
There was a novel that speculated the xenomorphs were a looooong time ago originally highly advanced, but an apocalyptic event hit their home planet with massive amounts of radiation, destroying their culture, setting them back to the "stone age" equivalent, along with damaging their genetics, making them more feral after a while.
Essentially all the xenomorphs we see, are the human equivalent of a brain damaged cave-man who suffered from radiation poisoning.
This was all before Ridley Scott made the utterly, utterly MORONIC "Prometheus" and sequel.

Someone also speculated that whatever they originally were they simply kept evolving to become a "perfecf" organism. As such, they wouldn't need technology, language, etc so they seem hyper feral when they're actually a more advanced species than intelligent ones.
Personally, I like what someone said on the video of Superman vs. Aliens, that, against a kryptonian, they'd be unable to damage him and thus might spontaneously evolve to use language again to survive/conquer this new enemy.

Pebbles and a long blade spear. Hide in cover, throw pebbles in all directions around the drone and strike. Not guaranteed but your best chance in CQB

The xenomorphs carry self replication basically with eggs but with a womb involved it probly underwent asexual reproduction and gestation but what came out wasn't human or xenomorphs it was something else entirely a spliced species so to speak through a kind of forced evolution

Technically we have gotten 2 predalien queen in the avp series one in the game you mentioned and the one in avpr film cause the one in film was able to breed more xenomorphs even after it ran out of facehuggers thanks to its ability to act like a facehugger without it dieing part

Presumably the Antarctic Queen was never effectively killed, owing to xenomorph's indifference to atmosphere or water: it's safe to assume as well that the, Aliens, movie queen was merely inconvenienced being jettisoned into space at the end; whole intact specimens are not dead.
The queen in Aliens is dead, but not because it was jettisoned. It died because it was still within the gravity well of LV-426 and eventually underwent an uncontrolled reentry to the atmosphere, followed by hitting the ground at a velocity of several km/s.
The Antarctic queen likely isn't dead, merely dormant as there is no animals of sufficient mass within its vicinity at the bottom of the ocean, so it would probably go dormant and wait (maybe laying a few eggs first). That said however there is a way it may have died. The spear that pierced its head broke through its exoskeleton leaving a hole, allowing the water pressure to enter, which would effectively crush it from the inside.
It could also have just picked a direction and started moving after shedding the water tank and chains, and would eventually have made landfall somewere with larger animals, that or it's taken to making xenomorph penguin hybrids. Now I want to see a penguin xenomorph...

The cloned queen did not change her physiology, she was also an alien/human hybrid, just like Ripley. Ripley got the acid blood, and enhanced reflexes and strength, the queen got the ability to birth live young.

Excellent breakdown! My only thing is the Empress. She was actually introduced in Aliens Online before AvP2. Back then when you ranked up enough and did enough matches you unlocked her transformation and she became selectable. However in that game she wasnt bigger, she just had more health and hit like a truck. Otherwise, GREAT vid!!

I played a few of these games mentioned. They were awesome. Why can't the movies take some royalties from some of the graphic novels? How awesome it would be to see the Alien civil war story adapted into movie format.
The movie was handicapped by an executive who didn't like the idea in general so he forced certain conditions on the script. That's why it's set on earth instead of the usual space future setting.

you completely failed to mention that the clone mother created from the combined DNA took on human characteristice such as displaying motherly emotion towards her newborn, and the same for the offspring who only wanted to be loved by the mother it recognized.

I really liked that avp game with alien 6. The multiplayer was fun and the 3 stories were really good. I have a vivid memory of running around as a marine with some random guy and when we turned the corner I saw that red laser on him then boom red mist

If these things are considered “bugs” then the Flying Queen’s wings shouldn’t so much be fleshy membrane stretched between some elongated finger-like appendages but more “foily” like a dragonfly’s would be. At least I think this.

I love aliens but I always hate how it's just Ridley Scott who gets the credit and not also H.R. Ginger who was the lead artist who created the Xenomorph and helped with the set design. He doesn't get enough recognition tbh
