What I like about the predators is that they have an honor code, like if you want to fight with no fancy weapons or guns, just blades or bare hands they’ll follow your lead and do the same, very respectable. On top of them having an honor code of not killing unarmed or diseased/pregnant/disabled individuals. Went from scary space bugs to giga chad sigma aliens
Scar's combistick was broken in half during the queen battle. Once he sends it into her head, you can see she swats at it until it breaks in half, with one scene showing the other half of the combistick sticking out of the left side of her face on screen. I believe it was the elders combistick that Lex was given at the end of AVP.
Wolf Predator didn’t misfire when PredAlien hit him. He shot the 2 laser cannons on purpose to stop the momentum of him hitting his own laser net trap.
Yeah that was sooo professional. And I bet even most of the audience didn't even notice that moment. Also, I think the Wolf Predator is one of the most skilled warriors.
I love the whole Aliens & Predator species so when i can get a better insight on either species i just sit back and take it all in. This video was great. I had the original 4 episodes comic of aliens when i was in high school back in the days and it gave you a great look at how the aliens worked and their intelligence. Your video gave me more into the predators and man i am truly impressed. I hope they make another movie taking us to the predators planet, that would be awesome.
The predators can use their enhanced vision to detect terminal cancer in someone's cells, but didn't bother to scan the dead predator "Scar" before they left his body alone on the ship with a live xeno baby inside.... the writing in this movie was such shit.
Yeah, right! I did find that a little funny, movie was mostly okay. Also of great note, if you follow the Prometheus timeline, no xenomorph would look like that anyway, more like a forced evolved mutant maybe more akin to the Dead Space franchise or John Carpenter's The Thing.
I've always imagined that their society is such that coming home with a chestburster is almost to be expected, and part of the job. If one of their own has a chestburster at the end of the hunt, so be it they're honorbound to still take the body and deal with the fallout, medical scan or no. As for us lesser beings, they have leeway to be more discriminant in their killing...no honor in killing a harmless dying cancer patient. The hunt isn't over till the ship comes home. Greater point being that a medical scan seems to be less a medical concern thing, and more a combat value assessment thing. Shit maybe they did scan him, found the chestburster, decided to go along with it for their rigid code and taboos we don't understand. I mean alien hunt on the ship, right? That's like tequila slings and jagerbombs coming back home
@@michaelbustamante1702 the Covenant Alien looked that way due to the Promethean genome. In alien 3, a facehugger hooked a dog and became a sleeker and faster version of the "humanoid" xenomorph we've come to know and love. I know that the movie Predators was divisive, by introducing the super predators, but I really enjoyed seeing the different hunting techniques employed by them. The traditional predators would hunt in a much similar way to the Native Americans or Forest hunters, whereas the super predators were much more akin to the British Nobles during their Fox hunts. They would even go so far as to employ Falcons and Hounds to flush out and stalk their prey, just like the super predators. It really gave a natural feel to the concept of multiple tribes of the predator species
Bro I was so hype with Celtic he looked crazy with his helmet I was so mad that two of the predators died in their first battle, you would think that with how many xenos there were that both of those predators would have killed a lot more aliens even though they were youngbloods, I just wanted to see more action with all three predators but especially Celtic
I didn’t realize that Celtic was the nicest predator out of the 3. He just looked the scariest. Wolf was the main one attacking people. Celtic didn’t attack until he was attacked first
That’s actually a Ancient Predator in the first AVP movie. Elder predators can command/rule small tribes depending on the tribe/clan. But ancients are well ancient predators with much experience only very very few become a Ancient Predator
According to Predator(Yautja) lore, the 1987 jungle battle with Dutch where you stated they considered humans "worthy" hunts was not the first time. They have been frequenting Earth for hundreds if not thousands if years. Thats even evident in AVP where they are shown overseeing humans constructing pyramids. In fact, a true Xenomorph requires human DNA. So yeah, they've known about humanity for a while.
So is the hybrid a product of Weyland/Yutani , they did manage to get some of the Predators technology as seen on the avpreq ending in Ms Yutani briefcase
One thing that didn't make much sense regarding the Predalien situation was the fact that Predators have an x-ray vision mode on their helmets. You would figure that a race, known for hunting Xenomorphs, would check any body they see as a force of habit. It does not make much sense they would not check to see if one of their own got infected.
I don't think so personally. Since by their standard Dutch did betray the code of honor of a unarmed fight by using a trap to gain the advantage. Now i'm not saying it was wrong to do so. On the contrary. For Dutch THAT was the right and only move he could do to win. But i don't think Greyback would deem him honorable because of it. Meanwhile Harrigan never made any attempts to use trickery. He did slay the Predator by luck i would say. But he did it in a one on one combat (like the ones you see in knight movies). And that gained him Greyback's respect. And looking through the comics, the pirate was honorable in his own way too which is why i think Dutch (Who did nothing wrong again) would not gain Greyback's respect.
@@jefferyhill2000 Do you....understand where you're at? This channel is all about long winded and over analyzing fictional beings and mannerisms. You seem lost, maybe you should head over to Jake Paul's channel. Seems more your speed.
@@stoifan91 I believe this is true and I would have to agree. Another thing is that Harrigan's feats are greater than those of Dutch. Harrigan actually pursued after the City Hunter, switching roles and becoming the hunter himself even right up until he pursued the target into an alien mother ship. It's no wonder that Greyback was probably even standing in awe of this human for a moment after he took out the City Hunter.
I like how after getting called ugly, the Predator had to take a few seconds to understand what it meant before roaring (I assume it was because he was called ugly)
Best predator video ever made after the original Predator film with Arnie. Can't believe how well you've explained it all. I've found a new love for the franchise based off your video.
That's a detail I would love to see used to further world-build in the cinematic media. For instance when we saw Wolf in his home on Yautja Prime; a wall was covered in various biomasks. Were these masks purpose built for particular scenarios and tasks, or are many of them a cultural mark? Are different masks given for certain societal pro/demotions? Are they the spoils of duels fought with other Yautja and now they're trophies that he displays as a mark of his prowess and victories?
I never knew what the pistol meant at the end of Pred 2. Super cool back story on that which adds to how badass that movie was. Wolf has always been my favorite of them all though, nearly unbeatable and whipped some series ass. Awesome video.
I like to imagine that the couple seconds in between when Dutch said "you are one ugly motherfucker" and the Predators roar, was him processing what Dutch said and then realizing it was an insult.
That is a whole lot more information than I would of been able to piece together watching all of the movies back to back. I see it as almost a Predators for dummies style book. Now I have to rewatch these movies, so I am also a bit upset at you for making it all a little more interesting. Not all of the movies are of the same quality as we all know.
from the moment i watched these creatures on screen to playing as them in games i have always held a soft spot for them idk if its how tall they are, how strong, that infamous claw or even how advanced they are they along with the xenomorphs are the best aliens every featured in any movie or game
“Dutch unknowingly shielded himself from the Predator’s heat vision with mud.” False. Dutch figured out how to circumvent the Predator’s technological superiority with intelligence and basic animal instinct. That’s why they deem humans an equal to or a superior hunt in comparison to Xenomorphs.
Whaaat?!!! They all actually had names? Well, how in the hell were we supposed to know their names? Now, that’s crazy but still interesting. Anyway, good to know. 😯
I didn’t get the impression of any kind of character dynamics between the predators either, but maybe I should’ve paid more attention to the physical acting and visual storytelling. I was too busy wrapping my head around Weyland’s exposition and needing to know who sent out the heat pulse.
Some were also just named by their apearence, scar has a scar. Falconer is a falconer. Then again maybe thats more a title/nickname than a name like bull. But thats where the comics come in as stated before i guess.
ACTUALLY....That WASN'T Scars compy stick.... it was the Elder Predators!!-- If you re-watch the movie, you will see that Scar uses his compy stick and puts it in the head of the Queen Alien. Then the Queen Alien breaks the weapon in half with her hand. So after the fight is over and the Elder Predator meets Lex, he takes his personal compy stick and gives it to her for a war🏆and for her helping his kind/respect!🛸 Other then that small oversight....YOUR VIDEO WAS AWSOME AS ALWAYS! This video is very interesting. I love the movies but never even considered how the Predators intertwine with the humans in the sense that they have a whole culture behind them that clashes with ours but both are actually equally good or evil, Yautja just skip past the negotiation part if you're armed
you seem to have overlooked the time Batman himself took on a Predator. I remember bits and pieces of it, but never thought of much more then a good story of Batman taking on an skilled hunter.

i really hope we do get a movie about yautja's and their journey to becoming a predator the movies only depicted predators as the horror antagonist element i would love to see a film where the predator itself is the main character
I don't think Jungle Hunter actually meant to directly kill Dutch after being fatally wounded by the trap. After he activates self-destruct, he mimics Billy's laugh from earlier when he chuckled at Hawkin's lewd joke. I think that when the Predator saw Dutch standing over him in a position of dominance and then showing mercy, he realized the irony in that out of all his knowledge in hunting, tracking and killing, he had been bested by a smaller, weaker opponent with no experience hunting his own kind and who essentially got lucky with a rudimentary, basic trap that he should have known better to avoid. Maybe he became enraged that he was being out-witted by the human and in the moment had tunnel vision and was caught off-guard when he should have known better. I think the laugh was his way of communicating in the only way he knew how to Dutch like "Isn't this just great, killed by a log. You win. I'll respectfully give you a running start"
wow I never knew this stuff about the Predator franchise. It just made me respect the movies a bit more because I really hated all of them except for the first one.
They weren't brother's by blood, but they were a pack. If you want to know the youngest, Scar would be the youngest as the mask he wears are for rookies.
I like the super predators they are awesome armors unique characters about them so unique I said they're a lot better than the upgraded predator.. I would love to see more super predators specialized gear and weapons
I apologize for my lack of xenomorph knowledge but how were they able to penetrate through the Yautja’s/ Predator’s mask ? Cuz I was suprised both Celtic and Chopper got killed in the same fashion.
The Xenomorph inner mouth is remarkably strong, and the armor of Celtic and Chopper was actually made on purpose to be weaker than what blooded predators use
Xenomorphs are supposedly sillicon based life forms and more biomechanical in nature. That's why they are so strong even being so skinny. Their claws and teeth are more similar to metal than biological ones.
I didn't even know they had names, let alone lore. I've watched these movies quite a few times when i was younger and thought it was just a bunch of aliens killing other alines lmao.

@@LordMalice6d9 it wasnt really plot armor and more a much less experienced predator likely from a desert clan instead of a forest clan which would put him out of his element, you could see him make tactical mistakes that a seasoned predator wouldnt make along with trophying every kill which indicates he most likely didnt have any trophies.

I was completely unaware of any of this and this video sucked me in, pause. I'm extremely enthralled with the Predators now and it's all thanks to the channel. One of the best channels on UA-cam and that's a fact!
As a kid reading comics and watching the first predator movies, I always wanted a movie or series that was completely devoted to explaining and examining yautja prime and all the crazy/cool things that occurred on that planet.
I'm glad i wasnt the only one. I used to get them from a comic book vendor at a flea market when i was like 11. I remember reading them and the Alien series as well as the many, many other stories from that universe.
It'll never happen because movie. Creators are allergic to good ideas
@@Assassino275 Or they do it the Predator2018 style; compleatly disregarding the lore from the comics and fill it with cringy jokes and Marvel style sequel bait...
I want to see a male & a female Yautja make love. That's what I want to see in a movie. If human beings can smash each other's guts out; Imagine what a Yautja mating looks like.

Fugitive Predator: wants to save humanity!
Also Fugitive Predator: Kills a bunch of humans before helping them.
To those that are curious, Prey was a great movie and the Predator in the movie was a young blood.
More like a No Blood! *bah dum tish!*
Anyway I havent actually seen Prey yet.
But also... The pistol throws things in the air a bit with established lore..
Prey was more feminist propaganda
Bullshit
Celtic and Chopper went down too easy. They should have killed at least a few Xenomorphs each.
This was the worst part of the movie, followed closely by the melting wrist blades *smh*. Not to mention they both died to the same crappy alien. Paul W. S. Anderson claimed he read the source material but he failed us completely.
@@Packleader87 I think his source material was just the movies. Lol. Wolf went hand-to-hand with the Predalien in the next movie. I feel like that was a little more realistic to the lore.
@@PracticalBibleStudies Indeed. AvPR gets a lot of hate, but it was much better than Anderson's version. If only it hadn't been so damn dark! A little more light wouldn't have killed the atmosphere.
@@Packleader87 FYI, there is a brightened fan-edited version out there on the internet. If you research a little, it's not too tough to find.

What I like about the predators is that they have an honor code, like if you want to fight with no fancy weapons or guns, just blades or bare hands they’ll follow your lead and do the same, very respectable. On top of them having an honor code of not killing unarmed or diseased/pregnant/disabled individuals. Went from scary space bugs to giga chad sigma aliens
no all had that code of honor some of them just "of you see me ...die~.
Scar's combistick was broken in half during the queen battle. Once he sends it into her head, you can see she swats at it until it breaks in half, with one scene showing the other half of the combistick sticking out of the left side of her face on screen. I believe it was the elders combistick that Lex was given at the end of AVP.
It was
Wolf Predator didn’t misfire when PredAlien hit him. He shot the 2 laser cannons on purpose to stop the momentum of him hitting his own laser net trap.
🫣
Right ✅. #PlotHole 😎👍Good eye.
Damn very true
@@michaelbustamante1702 the Covenant Alien looked that way due to the Promethean genome. In alien 3, a facehugger hooked a dog and became a sleeker and faster version of the "humanoid" xenomorph we've come to know and love. It was the first iteration besides the comics, of an alien taking a different form and kinda foreshadows just how much more dangerous the xenomorph species is. I'm more of an alien fan as you can see but Predator is still cool as hell to me haha

Scar didn't "become" a predalien, the predalien came out of Scar lol smh how'd you mess that up?

@@Streifen1911 why are all of the L's capitalized
Same i love how huge he was
One person played all three predators. So i guess cost cutting.
Hope more predator movies are on the way
According to Predator(Yautja) lore, the 1987 jungle battle with Dutch where you stated they considered humans "worthy" hunts was not the first time.
The predator is such an interesting being. It reminds me a bit of the way the Spartans lived.
Who else think’s that Greyback would give Adolini’s pistol to Dutch as well?
You really took the time to write this
@@jefferyhill2000 and you really took the time to comment that?
The og predator from 1987 is my favorite design out of them all because the design is simple and looks very menacing
I like how nearly every background predator has lore
I would love to watch a movie about predator tribes fighting each other.
Its in the comics. Please visit your local comic book store for more information.😉👍
@@ethrsag735 Probably the mask of the criminal Preds he hunted down.

When I first saw the Predator, I fell in love with them, I forgot about them for a long time, now I remember some of my favorite memories, thanks.
scar would be probably the kindest and best predator ever, smart, fearless, some kind of humor, and even a time alliance with another species.
My favorite predator was “ wolf 🐺 “ that was one mad mofo. How come avp requiem was so dark I have to brighten up my tv screen to see the movie.
I never knew what the pistol meant at the end of Pred 2. Super cool back story on that which adds to how badass that movie was. Wolf has always been my favorite of them all though, nearly unbeatable and whipped some series ass. Awesome video.
Idk Scar was pretty bada $$
It's in the new movie "Prey" also
I like to imagine that the couple seconds in between when Dutch said "you are one ugly motherfucker" and the Predators roar, was him processing what Dutch said and then realizing it was an insult.
Outstanding video guys! Y'all have hunted my heart and claimed a trophy 👍

This video goes way in depth than i thought it would ever need to
They forgot to talk about the Predator hounds or the Predator dog I really would have liked to know more about them
“Dutch unknowingly shielded himself from the Predator’s heat vision with mud.” False. Dutch figured out how to circumvent the Predator’s technological superiority with intelligence and basic animal instinct. That’s why they deem humans an equal to or a superior hunt in comparison to Xenomorphs.
It was accidental at first. In the film he's all muddy and wonders why the predator doesn't come for him before he realises how it sees.
It’s so fun getting 2 15 second ads without a skip option..
Whaaat?!!! They all actually had names? Well, how in the hell were we supposed to know their names? Now, that’s crazy but still interesting. Anyway, good to know. 😯
Comic Books
So after the fight is over and the Elder Predator meets Lex, he takes his personal compy stick and gives it to her for a war🏆and for her helping his kind/respect!🛸
Other then that small oversight....YOUR VIDEO WAS AWSOME AS ALWAYS!

@Sterlington Parker yeah that’s what I kinda meant to say. Thanks for correcting me. To me honestly they should have explained wolf more and his reason for being there instead of some cheesy plot with those humans. Mostly only people who read the comics know what wolfs name is.

With such an awesome and dense lore you would think they could make a solid Predator movie.
This video is very interesting. I love the movies but never even considered how the Predators intertwine with the humans in the sense that they have a whole culture behind them that clashes with ours but both are actually equally good or evil, Yautja just skip past the negotiation part if you're armed
8:22 when you watch Scar hit the 360 head stab with the spear in the movie, it’s the best moment in the movie
you seem to have overlooked the time Batman himself took on a Predator. I remember bits and pieces of it, but never thought of much more then a good story of Batman taking on an skilled hunter.

This is possibly one of my favorite videos I must have seen this video about 5-6 times already. I truly enjoy watching this video. Thanks again
The berserker mask is still my favorite to this day
I don't think Jungle Hunter actually meant to directly kill Dutch after being fatally wounded by the trap.
I subscribed immediately, 2 minutes in I realized the craftsmanship in this video is amazing! How could you not sub?! 🤨 Great job guys 💯💯💯😎😎😎

wow I never knew this stuff about the Predator franchise. It just made me respect the movies a bit more because I really hated all of them except for the first one.
Do you have any sources for the 3 in avp, beings brothers, which one was the youngest and whatnot? As an example
They weren't brother's by blood, but they were a pack. If you want to know the youngest, Scar would be the youngest as the mask he wears are for rookies.

You have to watch Prey, it was so good
I apologize for my lack of xenomorph knowledge but how were they able to penetrate through the Yautja’s/ Predator’s mask ? Cuz I was suprised both Celtic and Chopper got killed in the same fashion.
The Xenomorph inner mouth is remarkably strong, and the armor of Celtic and Chopper was actually made on purpose to be weaker than what blooded predators use
The same way a person can get stabbed through a bullet proof vest..
Xenomorphs are supposedly sillicon based life forms and more biomechanical in nature. That's why they are so strong even being so skinny. Their claws and teeth are more similar to metal than biological ones.
I love seeing some of my Predator figures in live action form to get ideas on how to pose em. Very neat, good video 😎
