The Kooks Long Tube Headers are a great option for your heavily modified 2011-2014 Mustang GT or 2012-2013 BOSS Mustang. You can expect significant horsepower and torque gains after installing these long tube headers. www.americanmus...
Boosted Performance. If you have a more heavily modified car, or are planning on going in that direction, these Kooks Long Tube Headers are an option you might want to consider. These are ideal for forced induction, including nitrous, since the tubes feature a large diameter. They're also great for naturally aspirated Mustangs with plenty of mods. These are some of the highest quality long tube headers for the Coyote motor. You can install these long tube headers on any 2011 to 2014 Ford Mustang GT or 2012 to 2013 Mustang Boss. Strong Construction. The pipes for these long tube headers are made of 1-7/8-inch mandrel-bent tubing, allowing for quick and unobstructed exhaust gas flow. The entire system is constructed out of 304 stainless steel, which is a strong and durable material that resists corrosion fairly well. TIG welds add to the strength of these headers. Difficult Install. Because of their layout, long tube headers are always a difficult installation job, and these aren't an exception to that rule. You'll need to remove several major components from your Mustang as part of the process, making it an involved and time consuming process. While it's highly recommended you hand this job off to a professional, if you take it on yourself, be prepared for it to take an entire day to install. You'll also need to run a custom tune on your car after installing these long tube headers, so you can turn off the rear O2 sensors and avoid the check engine light coming on.

Do you need the O2 sensor extension for this header?
If you don't have a lift and a couple buddies forget about it. You'll be MFN this install from here to Siberia doin it on jackstands.
Drop the k member it makes the install a whole lot easier. I did it by myself on jack stands, I also did a 2016 the same way without dropping the k member and my 14 was way better. The 16 kicked my butt.
Sounds badass with the magnaflow catback.
Nice review, she's a good speaker. I like the before and after dyno runs. The long-tube HP benefit doesn't seem worth the cost and hassle of the mod. Am I missing something?
I dont know why these videos dont have 2million views already! great work folks!
Thanks, Cody! That means a lot! -Zach
are 1 7/8 louder than the 1 3/4?
Damn she's cute
Surprised this video says turn off rear o2 sensors lol
I can run these without the mid pipe??
How much more power does kooks headers give you over bbk headers? Must be alot since they cost double the price.
The Fitness Life it’s not the power boss 304ss material on the kooks ftw bbk will give you problems with time kooks will keep running without any corrosion
Not to mention, BBK kills O2 sensors left and right.
I mean, there's fitment, resistance to corrosion, weld quality...
Drives me nuts that Ford doesn't make this an easier mod to do. Come on man it's a damn mustang got hell sake!
Very tiny percentage of people even add headers and most seem to make your car not pass emissions. So no reason to cater to such a small group.
why does everyone at AM insist bigger is better? Smaller primary sizes have advantages, these huge headers will kill low end power, exhaust gas velocity, and exhaust gas temps for the front 02 sensors to work off of. I run 1 5/8 kooks with a cobra jet manifold cammed coyote, and still picked up a ton of power from the headers especially in the low end.
Im about to get a 5.0
My mod list right now is
CJ intake mani
dual 67mm TB
JLT intake
*NEED ADVICE ON EXHAUST AND TUNER*
please help
without a cam what numbers am I looking at?
+Austin Tran aedhp.com theres your tuner hands down the best cobra jet tuner in the industry call him tomorrow tell him I told ya.
+Austin Tran shaun at aed would recommend 1 5/8 kooks long tubes, youre looking at 450 plus with full exhaust
if I go CJ intake mani should I go x pipe? what size x pipe?
+Austin Tran its a sound preference choice. I prefer the h pipe it has a deep tone. x pipes are cool too but more sport's car sounding. all aftermarket brands are usually 3 inch diameter
I spy a 96-98 Civic and a bug eye WRX.
I fn love it!
so stupid they don't tune the car first, then do exhaust, dyno numbers don't even matter in these videos, could all be the tune....
More fancy car jewelry that really don’t add much Horsepower. An X-pipe & tune is all you need
Never going to see headers after install forgo the chrome it's just a waste of money.
Are these pretty much the same as 1 7/8 American Racing headers? Great video! 🇺🇸
I can run these without the mid pipe??
Can you run these with the stock H pipe form the gt
Arh headers make 40hp 😎
excellent spokesperson! Stephanie definetly knows what she;s talking about, she;s not just reading script
+MrRinnytintin That she does! Steph is awesome and is one of the only people around here that has had more cars than me. She kills it! - Will
All that work for headers!? Better off just going off road X or H for bolt ons and a tune. The stock manifolds really don't really look too bad and i'd think they'd flow plenty
right... the power comes when u take off the cats and add the tune no need for the extra work and cash
23 hp after $2k spent
Manifold for $600 will give you similar gains (hp not torque) Yeah I know I’m late. Lol
Well the good news is, that as you continue to throw mods and cross over to boost, think of the lontube headers like a 1.5x hp multiplier 😅
@@TheManic.5-OHnah, you wanna go shorty headers for boost
@mustang_headass for *turbo, not for for any supercharger at all
@@TheManic.5-OH Correct.
What's the best set up for a loud rumbling roar sound ???
Alex Moreno LT + Offroad H pipe .. Total beast
LTH, H/X pipe, over axel pipes, FM Outlaw mufflers
Aaron Allen lmao fuck that, planning on running longtubes with that setup but my cars already stupid loud
TheseRightHereBitch if you run cats it won't be crazy loud
Aaron Allen no fun in that
Love my kooks!!!
i think im in love😘
can you run kooks long tubes and boss mid pipe on a regular GT?
You absolutely can Andrew! -Justin
AmericanMuscle.com one good question well these kooks header fit with the 3 inch kooks xpip
The pypes polished headers are better they have a step up set up 1- 3/4 to 1-7/8 to 3inch collecters
Will this Void a car warranty??
That BOSS is on the weak side for torque. That's unfortunate.
Because of the boss manifold
+61484 its low even for a boss manifold
noldevin yea its better to keep the stock manifold or just get a cobra jet, no torque losses.
61484
I agree, but i still think the dyno is reading low here
yea something weird is going on
If only Ford would do a pushrod motor I'd go buy one
Why would you want a 6.4 liter that makes the same HP as a 5.0?
Matt Parker says the guy with mopar products
Do I really need the tune?
Not really if you only going for sound
It would t be worth spending 1500 dollars on a whole setup for just sound. Get the tune.
to install these do we have to lift the engine??
They can definitely be done with the motor in place, although raising is slightly to allow yourself some breathing room definitely comes in handy. It all depends on how you want to do it! Personally, I dropped my K :) - Will
okay sounds good.. can i raise with a jack underneath the tranny?? thanks
