After seeing Qotsa live twice, I love watching videos of Qotsa's live performances because seeing the faces of the crowd getting mind fucked through the ear hole during songs like "I appear missing" and "song for the dead" literally make me feel like I'm right back at the shows again.
This is probably the best rendition of A Song for the Dead they have ever done… the intro organ and guitar, crowd claps, Josh’s guitar tone… their attitude is gnarly the entire song and ended this whole concert on HIGH energy…
Yeah I’m only beginning to really get into QOTSA(even as a 30 yr old rock/metal enthusiast...) but I also play and love drums; So I’m confident when I say that this fuckin guy is GOOD.
I really love this show, was amazing, and I Appear Missing is a musical jew played it live, that outro is so powerful and I can feel the entire song meaning :) also The Vampyre is great.
+WadsMitterGaMinG I believe you, I saw it two times the last year, exactly in November and the Drones Tour is amazing :D Btw if you understand or talk spanish I invite you to watch my channel in one video I talk about the beginning of the Drones Tour gigs. ;)
I was there. Right in front of Josh. Some drunk swedish dude threw up over the fences, right in the beginning of Song for the dead. The security guards was worried for him, and tried to pull him out of the crowd, but he pushed them away and started head banging like crazy instead. So funny. Josh saw this too and smiled :D Saw them again at forum in Copenhagen later that year, and they played two hours, and had the most awesome setlist. Good times :)
Thank You, Sir, for keeping up the good work, even though the UA-cam policies are sometimes pain in the ass. Best Regards. Totally sorry it happened because of Poland gig. Seeing it on Your channel after coming home from Opener was like X-mas in July.
Jon Theodore fits perfectly into qotsa. I have only heard of him since he joined here, but he knows exactly how to play them drums and can do dave grohls fills. I.M.O they dont need to tour with grohl no more, just let him record what he wants and Jon can play it live, give grohl more time to spend making more awesome music with his other bands :)
Cant wait to see them in a month in New York. Gonna be insane! Saw them in October in PA but had to see them one more time! Gonna be a Merry Christmas for sure!
I was'nt as big a fan at the concert as i am now so when they played My god is the sun I didn't even notice. My god is the sun is my favourite song of all time now ; _ ;
It's ok. You don't have to chose a certain lineup. It's not like there a different qotsas. You can just enjoy the band as a whole, with everything it's been through, without thinking about that.
their best performance for me was the very first time they played on the Rock Werchter main stage way back in time anno 2001 and after all those year i remember of it happens a few hours a go
I completely agree and believe it shouldn't even be able to be debated. But Beware!!!! There are many angsty young qotsa fans who never would've heard them if it weren't for a video game or mtv using something off Era Vulgaris on Teen Moms or some other trash. In essence, they showed up late to the party and because all they know is middle aged Josh and a handful of hired hands doing watered down versions of the old songs and new songs that verge on Dance Rock they think it's the best thing ever. They get quite defensive and generally don't want to know anything other than the safe, homogenized version they are familiar with. Don't know Nick, and he'd probably scare the hipster haircuts off of them. Lanegan is just a dude who sang one line on the new record. Brendan McNichol and Gene Trautman never existed and you can forget Alfredo. What does he have to do with "Little Sister"? The version of even No One Knows from this show had Josh doing this weird super pop music vocal thing and was so fucking weak it shocked me. There's no vitality, no energy. That feeling that it was a transcendent experience teetering on the edge of chaos is long gone. A band that used to be HEAVY and THICK with just Josh, Nick, and Alfredo sounds thin and dull with three guitar players. The Queen is dead. Shame, there was a time when they truly were the best rock band in the world.
Shoulda been Grohl on skins but the guy does a great job. That bassist is awesome.. yeh yeh I know, he's got cheesy tricks, but it works for me. Great line-up! They sound so good.. one of my top 10 bands, absolutely.
After seeing Qotsa live twice, I love watching videos of Qotsa's live performances because seeing the faces of the crowd getting mind fucked through the ear hole during songs like "I appear missing" and "song for the dead" literally make me feel like I'm right back at the shows again.
I appear missing = pure quality
You're goddamn right.
One of the best songs ever written
Sends shivers down my spine. The rift near the end..omg.
Daniel Sansom OH yeah bro!!its magic!!pure magic
Fuckoath ✊
This is probably the best rendition of A Song for the Dead they have ever done… the intro organ and guitar, crowd claps, Josh’s guitar tone… their attitude is gnarly the entire song and ended this whole concert on HIGH energy…
The guy at 1:06:20 has a question I think.
tone of the bass and drummer is so fucking good. the queensiest rhythm section so far
Wow J. Theodore is tremendous. I loved Joey but this sounds very tight and in control.
J. Homme = Master Rock God Recruiter
Vanoffy Best description i've heard of Josh ever
Vanoffy Can't disagree with that
I agree.. Though he did have a few mistakes on Song for the Dead. He even forgot a fill during the intro
@@John-fn5brThis is six years late but no, he didn’t…
This is one of the best QOTSA sets ever - thank YOU!!!! Loving it ALLQOTSALLL! Roskilde!!! You rock!!
Michael Shuman is badass!
That drum kit sounds amazing and Jon is an absolute beast :)
Even the drum machine was like fuck john you’re tight
Gotta love QOTSA! Never a bad drummer.
Yeah I’m only beginning to really get into QOTSA(even as a 30 yr old rock/metal enthusiast...) but I also play and love drums; So I’m confident when I say that this fuckin guy is GOOD.
Best live band ever
I really love this show, was amazing, and I Appear Missing is a musical jew played it live, that outro is so powerful and I can feel the entire song meaning :) also The Vampyre is great.
There are few bands that are even better live then on album.... I believe QOTSA are one of those bands.
+WadsMitterGaMinG me to
+rich f King Crimson
+WadsMitterGaMinG My favorite bands are Qotsa and Muse too :D you have good taste in music my friend and reason, Muse is so fucking great live haha
+WadsMitterGaMinG I believe you, I saw it two times the last year, exactly in November and the Drones Tour is amazing :D
Btw if you understand or talk spanish I invite you to watch my channel in one video I talk about the beginning of the Drones Tour gigs. ;)
WadsMitterGaMinG Don't worry :) When you see Muse be sure to really enjoy The Globalist is a great song live, so beauty.
The drum part for the chorus of first it giveth is boss

es buena música..
Thanks for sharing. I was at the Forum gig later on, greetins from finland :) and it was an amazing concert with great setlist.
Nothing beats the 2002 version of Song for the Dead with Mark Lanegan...
One of the best set-closing songs I've heard in a long time! Great concert.
I Appear Missing was a fucking eargasm. That solo. Holy shit!
15 minutes of song for the dead....LOVE IT
Hi😮
professor snape is one of the best modern guitarists ever!
WTF!!!! Guys were on fire on this show.... just crazy
Thank You, Sir, for keeping up the good work, even though the UA-cam policies are sometimes pain in the ass. Best Regards. Totally sorry it happened because of Poland gig. Seeing it on Your channel after coming home from Opener was like X-mas in July.
The Vampyre of time and Memory is the best song of this century
Jon Theodore fits perfectly into qotsa. I have only heard of him since he joined here, but he knows exactly how to play them drums and can do dave grohls fills. I.M.O they dont need to tour with grohl no more, just let him record what he wants and Jon can play it live, give grohl more time to spend making more awesome music with his other bands :)
shoes is killing it on bass! gotta love him
Cant wait to see them in a month in New York. Gonna be insane! Saw them in October in PA but had to see them one more time! Gonna be a Merry Christmas for sure!
49:17
"Bro, you alright?"
*Raises right hand and looks at him*
"Fuck no bro"
I was'nt as big a fan at the concert as i am now so when they played My god is the sun I didn't even notice.
My god is the sun is my favourite song of all time now ; _ ;
I'm seeing them this June, they're opening for EXIT festival or smt. Stoked out of my mind!
I wish Dean could play guitar on every song. He seems so happy during Burn the Witch.
Agreed. Nevertheless, to me it seems that Dean is so happy to be in this band.
i mean he was lead singer and lead guitarest in the waxwings
10:23 - Josh's smile at Michael Shuman nailing the bass lick in No One Knows :)
The first and (by now) last time I saw them they played Better Living Through Chemistry for 15 minutes. It was insane, they broke me.
I actually think this is their best line-up. Sorry Grohl, Olivery, Castillo, Lanegan.. I love what this band has become!
It's ok. You don't have to chose a certain lineup. It's not like there a different qotsas. You can just enjoy the band as a whole, with everything it's been through, without thinking about that.
This set is pure fire from the front to the back 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love QOTSA..in this life and any other i follow them
nice to finally hear a crowd that's in time with the band!!! some countries just don't know when to abort sometimes lol
This has to be the best year of their career so far, at least in my opinion!
"I think I Lost My Headache" is so great! Maybe the best version of this song?
check out the version at Bizarre fest 2001, I think that one is solid as well
This is just too badass I cannot wait to see them live !!
Seeing them in November...literally just can't fucking wait any longer :D !
Best band around these days
I agree but disagree too - check out Royal Blood - they are immense for just 2 guys.
Hope they're at Leeds fest this year!!! Blue tie guy reminds me of Michael McIntyre...
incredible as always
I Appear Missing ❤❤❤ (and song for the dead, so good)
awesome Theodore Drum solo, wasn't expecting that!
First It Giveth is finally back in regular rotation!
I'm going to see them next week on Rock in Rio.Brasill Can't wait!!!
Woa opening with feel good and millionare i love this show!
They all clapped on time during “I think I lost my headache”! That’s how you know Queens has the best fans.
thankyou
Thanks ;)
This band sound so much better live
Jon Theodore is the best!
I wish it could like this video more than once!
YES IT'S BACK UP!!!! WOOOO!!!
That guitar he's using on My God Is The Sun is a custom guitar by Echo Park Guitars!
man i was soo close to going to their concert in Sydney but wer had other plans that night looks like i missed out on heaps ~:(
Wow, I can see my self from here ●o●
Älskar att du hänger här. Coola kids for life!
Probably my favorite QotSA concert
who in their right mind would dislike a qotsa video?!?!
Ross mothafuckin Halfin back there on his Olympus. Legendary!
wtf!!! i appear missing, amazing.
If you've not seen them live...you need to!
The drummer is a machine!!
woah Jon killin it behind those drums!!
I'm happy that all the songs in the setlist have links. I must have watched all their 2013 videos and I'm sick of the intro video now aha
QOTSA what else, just amazing!!!
I hope they live forever
QOTSA, come to Brazil and you'll see whats a real crowd!
They all look weird as hell in the daylight. One of those bands who makes sense at night I guess.
Most of their live performances that i've seen (on youtube) are during the day.
I think they look fine.
Thanks mate, I kinda guessed it wasn't either a Gibson or Epiphone..apparently the wood is 300 years old
Damn, Shuman was awesome in Feel Good Hit.
Best line-up by a mile. Like Clockwork is one of the best rock albums ever recorded, and he couldn't have done it with Joey, or Nick for that matter.
Yes! Criminally underrated.
But Joey played drums for half the album...
their best performance for me was the very first time they played on the Rock Werchter main stage way back in time anno 2001 and after all those year i remember of it happens a few hours a go
@ that time crowed surfers all over the damn place
vandepot gerukt nicccce
Who gives a shit, this guy's supplying us with 1:20 worth of live Queens of the Stone Age goodness. Where's the fucking love at?
I loved that all people hummed along in the beginning of Burn the which.
Dean looked epic during the intro of it.
I humble myself before the Kingdom of Queens.
Another perfect performance, no matter the lineup, qotsa always delivers.
The mixing though... I can't even hear Troy... it all sounds empty IMO
Mike has to be one of the bassists of the decade...00:51:32. Jizzin my earcanals!
Good video
their first album was their best, hard metal at fast pace.
I completely agree and believe it shouldn't even be able to be debated.
But Beware!!!! There are many angsty young qotsa fans who never would've heard them if it weren't for a video game or mtv using something off Era Vulgaris on Teen Moms or some other trash.

The Queen is dead. Shame, there was a time when they truly were the best rock band in the world.
+Justin Vavala You don't sound self-righteous at all.
+Justin Vavala Butt hurt much?
+Justin Vavala i completely disagree, but you made me laugh.
+Justin Vavala what ever man, hope it's nice living so far up you own ass.
37:54 Needs more cowbell
Esperando el 5 octubre!!!! lo massssss
they sound so much better when they play at regular speed
Goddamn, they're so fucking tight live
Troy Van Leeuwen is the coolest man on the planet.
Fucks to the yeah! The new line up sounds great!
Troy is amazing.
What a set list
I'm not gonna lie...this is the most talented band on the planet!
Alltogether The Best Rockband Of The 2000s (IMHO).
They take the cake.
Everyone else is second.
Shoulda been Grohl on skins but the guy does a great job. That bassist is awesome.. yeh yeh I know, he's got cheesy tricks, but it works for me. Great line-up! They sound so good.. one of my top 10 bands, absolutely.
Listening to how EVERYONE is singing the bass line at the beginning of Burn the Witch makes me quite emotional. Lmao
QOTSA 4 EVER !
Snape rocks!
really? they got the day slot??? they deserve to headline
They were actually listed as headliners that day together with Kraftwerk
Jake Hoffman it is in the middle of Summer up North, so what are you on about?
I was at this show, it started at 0830pm so far as I remember.
Got my tickets for new venue in Glasgow's secc hydro YAAAAAAAAS.
I was the first in loine for this concert :)
True story
Amazing band
Excellent concert, great crowd, is it just me or does Troy look like Zorg from The 5th Element?
FUCKING GREAT!!! QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE!!!
the orange amp is red.
very good!!! soy un chico del sur que necesita los acordes, en realidad me falta uno que no lo puedo descifrar.
