It is an epic masterpiece. They’re not underrated though. They have just as many admirers as they want or should have. They’re a niche band, not mainstream. When a band gets too ‘big’, that’s when they start to go off the rails.
Yeah, she really is. I'd really like to meet her & spend some REAL time with her... get to know the real person behind the persona, however, because in too many ways and too many times, she absolutely appears to be 100% in love with Jamie & don't, please do not take me wrong. I know it's none of my business, I know it's not going to change how I view her, nor them, nor their artistic endeavors. Yet... I still want to know the truth and I think a part of me wishes they were some super in love soulmates and together. It just SEEMS so right. Yeah so..... she IS amazing,! Lol 🙄😆
He is criminally underrated, which is a damn shame because the culture is currently fixated on technical proficiency and notes per second. Thing is, none of those shreddy wankers can hold a candle to this guy.
To everyone slipping in: ya know a real drummer would really add more x to this... they’ve been around for years and have never needed a drummer. Whenever a band does this for more than one record, you can bet It was a conscious decision. I don’t think they need people’s two cents at this point (esp. since they’ve probably gotten that BS comment their entire career). This is awesome. Listen to it again. They don’t need a drummer. The fact that they don’t have a drummer here is part of what makes it.
Actually not true that they've never used a drummer. Since Ash and Ice they have a live drummer. And their live sound has immediately become a lot less interesting. The drum machine was what set them apart as you said.
Christopher Göb fair enough. Thanks for correcting me I will course correct the comment and though I hadn’t heard there work with a live drummer, I have no doubt that you’re right about the fact that it did nothing for there sound, let alone make it any better. Cheers.
Everyone has the right to their opinion. But what does saying this or any music would be better with this or that one thing (that the musicians did without consciously for years) do? You may as well be saying this doesn’t sound very good, and if those people had said that I wouldn’t have felt the need to comment. Because it would have been sincere and succinct and honest. Saying what they’re saying is shitting on it while convincing themselves they’re not, or rather under the guise of a suggestion that’s going to fall on deaf ears (cuz you and I both know the people it’s being suggested to certainly aren’t going to read it) and those people commenting know that. Or else it’s just ignorance. That’s the problem, not the fact that they have an opinion.
@@crocodilewani5467 I agree that their live sound is less compelling/engaging with a drummer and bassist. I love when it's just Allison, Jamie, and a drum machine. But my favorite kills lineup was when they toured with a standing percussion battery: four people with bandana masks and leather jackets banging on toms and snares. It was such a great way of filling out the sound without detracting from the drum machine simplicity and aesthetic.
the first rock show i ever went to was this band, the same year this was recorded. at the time, i was a musical theater student with green hair who stuck out like a sore thumb. as a 13 year old girl, watching alison play really changed my world. i had never really seen a woman be this cool and self-possessed before. it must have really inspired me because later i became a rock frontwoman as well. the kills are so effing cool.
This. Is. SO. Fu*king. Goood. Talk about some badass performance! And I just love how Mosshart becomes one with the music, and that her wild hair goes curtain over her face and that her hands goes clapping by themselves and how she looks at Hince now and then and just keeps on rocking the genuine way only she can, and at 4:45 and forward Hince not only fires his guitar but also oinks like a damn pig in a manner that perfectly interacts with Mosshart's engaged groans, heavy breathing and compulsive body movements. The Kills kills it, people!!!
They're so intriguing and Allison's got that A Star Appeal with her Singing, playing n Vibe! Jamie's a Quality Guitarist and that last Tune reminds me of The Velvet Underground! Good set
best part is that every time some interesting guitar part is being played the director cuts away from it and then shows full guitar glory in the standard chorus stuff, interesting guitar playing going on too bad we can't see any fit.
Go power couples. The future is man and woman collaborating, The Kills are such a beautiful thing, going against what the mainstream would want women to behave 👍🏻🖤🖤🖤🏴☠️
@@jamesreilly2442 both are good. But i am more interested in bands with live drums. I've discovered few months ago King Gizzard & the Lizzard Wizzard. It's so great.
It gives me hope that they're still not only still going, but still growing and expanding. Not sure if I prefer her with Hince ,or with White in Dead Weather, - and as a guitarist, - don't know if I like Hince or Feritta more. Outstanding combo of Ambient and Garage.
my ex was totally in awe of Alison Mossheart, i can totally get it, esp here, crazed, sexy as hell, sultry awesomeness and Jamies guitar playing is pretty special too!
god damn i love the kills. perfect soundtrack for the smoke choked city of portland in the midst of these massive 2020 wildfires and you know the pandemic, police protests,, mass unemployment, shit politicians.. I cant wait to get down with some beautiful people to some loud ass music when all this is over!
When I reflect on this band I tend to get way too far in the weeds. When they are playing their music they both change into an emotional conduit for each and every song. You can see it in how they move, play their guitars, and sing the lyrics. They're vastly underappreciated.
I don't know if anyone has pointed it out already, but footage from the camera which Alison is talking about at the beginning can be seen in the music video for Tape Song :)
The Kills are so underrated and undervalued. Just one man and one woman rock out more than most other bands. Midnight Boom is a masterpiece
The most underrated guitarist and hottest frontwoman in rock 😉 shockingly underrated outfit
100% agree
Yeah yeah yeah 🙄😅
No

Alison Mosshart is so freaking amazing
she is my favorite

Yeah so..... she IS amazing,!
Lol 🙄😆
the way that Hince uses the guitar is soo unique
Yes, and it's sooo much more expressive than playing 10000 notes per minute
a guitar genius
He is criminally underrated, which is a damn shame because the culture is currently fixated on technical proficiency and notes per second. Thing is, none of those shreddy wankers can hold a candle to this guy.
Jamie is constantly reloading a gun and is ready to fire at any moment, nothing unnecassary. Great stuff!
They have such a tight sound, but such free energy
Ugh, I wanted this set to never end...
Exactly :'(

I'm really enjoying his guitar playing, their arrangements and the energy. Haven't heard them before. I'm a believer.
And it was before his car crash, actually he plays without his middle finger
Wonder how he is doing(Jamie), he posted a picture with legs in a cast (end of 2020?)
I’ve never heard of them but was impressed with their innovative sound
You should check out The Dead Weather, she's lead vocals for them too, and Jack White is on drums/backing vocals.
Nick Holley just did, thanks for the recommendation
They had their 15 year anniversary show in 2016 and still innovating. When shit gets back to normal, try and see them.

Such a dynamic duo. I'm so glad they found each other to make this great music.
Really miss seeing these guys Live. Every time they come to my town, i drop everything and go see them. very special.
One of their best sets
It was 2011. Got the oportunity to see them in SP, Brazil. What a great band. So powerfull!
Viu porr* nenhuma! Cadê link?
Oh wow, this brings me back...love this band!!
Just discovered them what a cool duo!
Good grief, what a terrific upload to UA-cam. I'll watch this a few more times for sure. Excellent!
So, rock is not totally dead. We still have a the Kills. Always loved these guys.
The Kills always deliver, every time.
I'm addicted to this clip!!!! It's so great!!!! Thanks!!!
Regards from Angola
An excellent harmony...I hope they go for decades to come.
Love the kills specially Jamie's guitar tone, take note people this is how u own it
I love the tones outta this guys guitar 🎸 better than a KEMPER 👍🏽
The guitarist Jamie is up there with Tom Morello and The Edge from U2, incredible effects and raw playing.
I feel the same way. Really created his own unique thing. I'm guessing he does a lot of the drum sequencing as well (which is great too)
The kills are so under rated .....so good.
this version of goodnight another bad morning gives me chills
I wish I had just a recording of that.
I could listen to that on loop for an hour straight
I love this band so much!
It's been a while since I could say "my new favourite band" and not replace my actual favourite band... but still, this is soooo good.
One of the best concerts I ever saw was the kills 2002 at the empty bottle, Alison was on another level that night
She always is!
We are a rock duo as well and count The KIlls as one of our major influences, Sooo glad we saw them live before Covid.
Same here brother
Love their music. It's primitive but progressive at the same time. I really can't put their style in a category.
Pretty much 2 person pixies
best part is that every time some interesting guitar part is being played the director cuts away from it and then shows full guitar glory in the standard chorus stuff, interesting guitar playing going on too bad we can't see any fit.
Midnight boom will always be my fav album from them
Same. That album is pure gold.
My must see band of the moment… Raw energy and pure emotion you feel… love em big time ❤ Hope I see you in little old England 🏴 soon … 👌
I saw them live years ago!!!! Super cool!!!
Go power couples. The future is man and woman collaborating, The Kills are such a beautiful thing, going against what the mainstream would want women to behave 👍🏻🖤🖤🖤🏴☠️
Love The Kills!
Alison has one powerful voice and a great new look. The first song is so damn good.
he is a really interesting guitarist
Interesting effects and the way he uses them. ♥️
I just wanna yell... STOP BEING SO COOOOL! Man, they're cool. I love them. Loooove!
Simply so good!
Her voice 💣💥♥️🙌🏻
The Tape Song, man. Fucking incredible, just discovered this band yesterday.
Jeez, how do you guys getting so clean voices out of those mics? It's the pure magic!
The last track has a 'Sweet Jane' vibe to it.
She really is my all time favorite singer
I love this band so much. So much.
I love this.
"Tape Song" is bit like a Pixies "Gouge Away" for me
In a good way? or redundant way? iyo @NewCalipso Delavara
@@jamesreilly2442 both are good. But i am more interested in bands with live drums. I've discovered few months ago King Gizzard & the Lizzard Wizzard. It's so great.

@@jamesreilly2442 yeah. Good point :-) But GoGo Penguin with one drummer produces complex music.
@@yevhenukrainianer4781 not to take the spotlight away from The Kills...but god damn thanks for the into to GoGo Penguin
I like the 360 degree twirl Alison does at the end of Tape Song!
Best version of Goodnight Bad Morning
i'll never be as cool as them...
every time i listen to the kills i get so moved to get up and play UGH YES
omg this video's such a treat
Ohhhhhh.... I love The Kills :)
A new fan here!!
It gives me hope that they're still not only still going, but still growing and expanding. Not sure if I prefer her with Hince ,or with White in Dead Weather, - and as a guitarist, - don't know if I like Hince or Feritta more.
Outstanding combo of Ambient and Garage.
Their voices gel like whisky and cola on that last track, so soothing.
The image quality is great for a 2008 video!
When are you gonna drop that Alison solo set from the basement? I’ve also noticed that you’re doing mostly three song sets?
Why would anyone dislike this?
These songs by Hince and Mossheart is pure art.
Outstanding 🍺🍺🍺🤘🏼
Love them immensely! 💗🤘
This Sessions are f*cking awesome!
Oh yeah. So good. This is glorious. 🤘🖤☠️

Amo The Kills !!!
Thank you! Now drop The Dead Weather one!!
YEAAAAAA
No that band is lame
The Chills
Man if I'm representative of your target market you've f'n nailed it. Every act you've had on here so far is so spot on. All my favorites.
Amazing band!!!
He is a very interesting guitarist isn't he, something quite unique about him, dare I say it, " Very Syd Barrett " great stuff.
Fantastic!
They're so fucking good. Thanks for sharing Nigel!
Damn straight!

Um, yes please and thank you!
Around 5:45 they're getting funky..... she's got more rock style than most front singers can only dream about
Bravo! Saludos desde Guadalajara Jalisco México
God damn one of the greatest bands ever. Love VV and Hotel
Jamie & Alison are beautiful slow burn mood. Last week they released B side vinyl.
My goodness, You guys are always AMAZING 😍
They look straightedge AF here, very well preserved, have they gone full Osmonds or what
its from 2008
Como la suben!!!! los amo!!!!
