This was a great watch. Informative and very relaxing. I'm in school now taking a few A&P courses, but will begin my courses for Kinesiotherapy in the fall, so it's neat to see someone else talking about things I have been learning about. I've had pain in my shoulder and forearms for about 5 years now I can't get rid of. I had a shoulder arthroscopy surgery last January that didn't help, but the pain in my foreaems is so much more chronic and painful. I've been to so many orthos, neurologists, etc. Many scans, tests, everything, and no one can figure out what causes my pain. It's just the top of my forearms mostly, from the elbow to the wrist. It affects everything; it's difficult to even hold a small book in bed. It just affects my entire life and I'm afraid I'll never figure it out it learn what is causing the pain. I'm hoping my studies can possibly help me learn more about my body and what I can do to prevent more injury, but mostly I just want the pain to go away. At any rate, great video and thanks for posting!
Welcome to my channel Savage Sanity! Very original & intellectual name. I like it coz it sounds like a dichotomy! I’m sorry to hear about your forearm troubles! So I’m curious what they found in your shoulder? And why haven’t they found the source of pain weakness in the forearm. Without knowing what they have said or not said it’s just a guessing game. Has anyone mentioned carpal tunnel possibly? Has a massage therapist worked your flexors & extensor? Origins on the medial & lateral condyles & epicondyles? Has anyone checked the pronator teres that can put pressure on the median nerve sometimes. Did the doctor ever say anything about Thorasic outlet syndrome? Are you a female carrying a heavy bag over your shoulder putting pressure on the clavicle & ribs? Is your clavicle or Pec minor putting pressure on the plexus? So many questions sorry. I’m just trying to give you ideas of things to look for & ask your doctor. Are you a massage therapist because that could explain the forearm pain. I wish you continued knowledge so you can figure out what’s going on with you & feel better! Like Hippocrates said “physician heal thyself”
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Thanks for the reply! I am a male and I do IT work, which initially led me to think it might be carpal tunnel. But I have seen a hand specialist who looked at my forearms and said he didn't think that was the case. He mentioned a possible surgery to release the fascia, but after my shoulder arthroscopy made my pain worse on my shoulder, I'm hesitant to get surgery on any other part, especially my hand/arm since I play music and paint and I don't want to risk losing any fine motor skills. The shoulder arthroscopy was supposed to repair a very minor rotator cuff tear and shave some minor calcium deposits off the bone. I haven't had any massage therapist work with me. I've seen a chiropractor twice, but neither time did he perform an adjustment and said that because I don't have neck neck pain, he couldn't help (this is through the VA, so laziness is typical). I've had CT scans, MRIs, and x-rays on my shoulder, forearms, cervical spine, and brachial plexus. None of it pointed to any issue with my forearms. They've also done two nerve conduction studies and two EMGs, both of which they claimed were normal. That's why I'm confused; my orthos say it's neuropathic, my neurologists say it's orthopedic. I've done three rounds of physical and occupational therapy which included some dry needling and such, as well as continued at-home exercises. So far, no luck. I continue doing my own stretches and self-massages at home. Ar any rate, I'm hoping that things will eventually either be solved or that I can find something that helps as far as stretches/massages & self-therapy.
@@savagesanity well you are very knowledgeable & have done your research! You’re right the rotator cuff repair should not be causing all this pain. With you telling me that you work IT, musician & Artist (that’s the intellectual part lol) it sounds like it could be over use! I would definitely find a good massage therapist that knows about medical, neuromuscular & fascia release! They will probably be able to help you more! Best of luck & thanks for answering my questions! I love to learn & do my best to help!
Oh wow you did something right to make it better! Continue working your flexors and extensors so relax them so it doesn’t happen again! Thank you for sharing your story! Stay healthy and strong

This is without a doubt the best video about carpal tunnel I have ever seen on the internet. Wish you were closer to Louisiana I would love to get massage as too many problems going on with my carpal tunnel, radial tunnel and tennis elbow lol I got messed up my hands and arms bad... How can I find a knowledgeable and reliable massage therapist in my area can work on those issues? There are so many but who to trust?
Are the injuries due to repetitive motion, injury or sports? You can search for a medical or neuromuscular therapist near you. If they have had the training they are probably good. Myofascial release will help too. I would ask lots of questions and see who’s the best fit for you. Kind of like when your shopping for a new car! Best of luck to you. Stretching & self massage of the flexors & extensors really helps too. 🤗
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Thank you for your reply, I appreciate you. All of the injuries are due to years of computer gaming(in the past ) and now work(in front of the computer designing ) None are related with injury or sports. So all gaming and work now. I have been trying stretching and self massaging and it does not seem to help much, like it feels a little better right after and it keeps coming back. After your message I have done little research and seems like no neuromuscular therapist in lafayette la. I will do a bit more research about medical or myofascial therapy. So got 2 quick questions for you, can my issues be healed permanently with a correct massage therapy without needing surgery? and last question is which method would be best for my case? Thank you so much, your videos are great, I subscribed!
Massage Therapeutics like for example how the rhomboids become overstretched because most of us are very protracted and then the pecs get very tight by default. I hope you know what I mean, I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear in my first comment 💝

I've been redoing my yard with cactus 🌵 due to the drought over here. I've really come to love it. Easy to maintain and makes a beautiful landscape.

very nice effort on patients. Must relief all pain I am sure, and as i am a physiotherapist i should know the massage techniques i do deep friction massage for trigger points and they feel so much pain and also bruising for some but it relieves pain like anything alhamdulilah.
I am happy to hear you are physical therapist using same techniques! Yes clients find a lot of relief specially when they have carpal tunnel syndrome. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. 🙏
God Bless You Maria, excellent job 😍
Thank you so much! I appreciate the blessings!
I must have found this channel looking for my teacher when I went to school in Kalamazoo, because this is the same type of teaching I received. It is good to see the same truth that I was taught. Very nice to see. Thank you.
It is also very nice to hear that there are other teachers out there who love what they do & are good at it! I’m so happy to read you had such a teacher. Where is Kalamazoo please?
@@MassageTherapeutics915 it is in Michigan. I went to Everest there, and then moved back home to Washington State.
@@Queen_of_Hearts-Sharnell that’s wonderful! Thank you for your reply. Keep on shining 🤗❤️

@@mememe2223 being a beginner is a great place to start! You’re like a sponge absorbing all knowledge yet staying humble. I appreciate your support and kind words. I would like to recommend 2 other therapist that I believe are pretty good themselves & it will help you expand your knowledge. “Massage Sloth” and “Rebel”. Create a great day ❤️👏
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Thanks Maria. You are so generous and kind. Yes I started massage learning last year. I've been amazed by so many great therapists in this place. Your recommendation convinces me both Massage Rebel and Sloth of the greatest, just like yourself, who take massage practice art works. I think I'm the one of the luckiest here.
You truly have a gift in teaching and your delivery! I wish I had you as my teacher...

Vinnys Mom Thank you very much!
Very good instructor
I am happy to hear you found it useful! Thank you for your positive feedback 🤗

Fantastic, informative, massage techniques and explanation is clearly precise; Love all of your videos.
Oh yes I like this one too! So many people have problems with their flexors & extensors because of computer work & bad body mechanics!

Never disappoint, great great video 😍, thank you thank you thank you.

Can you do a video on muscles that get overstretched the most? 💕
I always love your style and the personality you put into your videos.
Taylor thank you very much. Can you be more specific as to what you mean? So that I have a better idea. Thanks
Massage Therapeutics like for example how the rhomboids become overstretched because most of us are very protracted and then the pecs get very tight by default.
I hope you know what I mean, I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear in my first comment 💝
Taylor oh I get it. Like how the agonist & antagonist work together or against each other if they’re hypertonic or hypotonic. It seems that you already know a lot just by the question you asked! Ok I’ll write it down for a future video! Thanks for the clarification
Massage Therapeutics you’re awesome, thank you ❤️
Taylor my pleasure! It might be a while before we can get to it. I have a list to get to & not enough time!
I learn so much from you!
That makes me very happy to read! I’m glad the videos have helped you. 🤗❤️
