You are a fantastic teacher. I’ve been a massage therapist for 15 yrs., and it’s just wonderful to find new techniques explained clearly and thoroughly . Thank you! I’d be curious to know how you work with clients who have whiplash, and are very guarded in the anterior neck, chest, and shoulders.
Christa Rabbitt I start by explaining to the client how you get whip lash & the muscles that are affected. SCM, Scalenes are so important on the anterior. The splenius Capitis & Cervisis & levator on the posterior. You explain how you will be careful to only work on the muscles & stay away from the plexus & carotid & jugular. After you explain they feel more comfortable letting you work on them. If you watch the pec video I go into more detail about how to work these muscles. I hope I answered you question! It’s difficult sometimes to grasp the question lol.
Ive been waiting for a good pec and neck video. I have found since most people breathe through their chests and not their diaphragms, often times they have a lot of scalene pain from the muscles being hypertonic and overused. You’re the best instructor, and I’m blessed to have been able to study under you and continue to do so :) congrats on hitting over 1000 subscribers as well! You deserve it!

Day 11 check in. Like a person, it take a while to get to know and make friends with, so is with a muscle. I've learnt some muscles around the neck but still hope to learn more, like the layers of them. From this video I've got better understanding of these muscles and how to treat them cautiously, different from my previous practice. Thanks Maria.
I have a video on where the anterior & posterior triangles of the neck are located. That gives you a better understanding of where the soft tissue is. Since there’s no bone protection in this area you just need to be careful not to put pressure on the veins & artery. If you ever feel a pulse anywhere you stay off of it. You’re doing great so keep up the studies! I wish all my students were this dedicated 🤗

Curious as to why you only hold trigger points for 20 seconds. My school teaches 30 seconds - 2 minutes, and up to 3x. Love your videos! They've been a lifesaver while I'm getting my RMT license
Thank you for your compliment! I learned in Neuromuscular school that you don’t want to over stimulate the nervous system since that’s where the relaxation & release comes from. I have heard other people do 30 seconds & I’m sure that’s ok because it’s not that much of a difference. Not sure about the 2 min though! I think it’s just different schools have different theories.

Thanks Maria, you are such a good teacher and I love the way how you draw muscle on the body at the same time to demonstrate the massage. I am quite new in this industry and I have great passion with this job which I hope I could do it as long as I can. But how to avoid injure from this job?
孙莹 great question: It’s a good thing that you’re at the beginning of your career so you can train yourself from the beginning! Good body mechanics is #1. Don’t look down all the time, teach yourself to go by touch. Correct table highth. Shoulders down, strength from your legs! Don’t over use your thumbs! Use elbows, knuckles etc. Trade massage at least every 2 weeks. Exercise! Watch the stress level. Don’t know more massage than you can handle. Actually watch the Burnout video. It will help you prevent a short massage life! You just gave me an idea for a future video!!! So thank you
I meant to say Don’t DO more massages than you can physically handle. I find that most therapists push themselves to work more than they’re comfortable with. Mine varied however 5-6 was my happy #. Now it’s less. I’m glad you have “Passion”. That’s a very important ingredient!!!
JESUSELCAMINOALPADRE I appreciate your positive feedback! Tell me more about the training in Ontario please. I’ve heard massage training is usually 3 years in Canada?
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Hi Maria, Sorry I was not able to answer you sooner. Thank you for replying back, I love your teachings your videos are so interesting, from learning about different tools to hydrotherapy, massage techniques and more. You are awesome for sharing your knowledge to the world. I plan on furthering my career and enroll into your clases when I finish my school since right now I have to deal with 5 major classes, OP, clinic is a little hard :) Well to answer the question:) the study times vary in Canada because some provinces do not require you to be a Registered Massage Therapist. Where I am In Ontario some courses are 16 to 18 months and once completed, we can book our OSCE exam under The CMTO (Ontario, Canada) Most of these courses open the door to be a Registered MT and once that is done we can be excepted in other courses like LMD, acupuncture and massage using acupuncture to release trigger points for example, among other courses. I consider this ok since we can start to work and while working as a Registered MT we can further our careers.
JESUSELCAMINOALPADRE wow that is a long studying career. I wasn’t sure how it worked and I have a much better idea now. It’s similar as it was in the states where California didn’t have a requirement either however most states now have a license requirement. Most states have 500hour programs & need to take a state exam. Well it sounds like by the time you graduate you are a well rounded massage therapist! Congrats on all your efforts & dedication. Best of wishes for you Jesus. ❤️🤗

Marybella Beauty Skin Spa Thank you for the comment. I’ll definitely make a facial video. Check out the neck video there’s some techniques there. 👍
Thank you for your teaching's
Anne Angawa you are very welcome!!! Thank you for tuning in!!!

Ayen Pitallano I will put it on the list! It will be a couple of months since we’re doing quads & hamstring muscles next & draping too! Thanks for the feedback. I also have 1min reviews on Instagram. I might do something there sooner!
Thanks you so much for you labor!!?
You are very welcome Rafaela. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a message 🤗
Thaunks, for your massage tech and I code it all of ....

Hi Maria, I am in Ontario, Canada.
You are awesome!!
JESUSELCAMINOALPADRE I appreciate your positive feedback! Tell me more about the training in Ontario please. I’ve heard massage training is usually 3 years in Canada?

Hi Maria,
Sorry I was not able to answer you sooner. Thank you for replying back, I love your teachings your videos are so interesting, from learning about different tools to hydrotherapy, massage techniques and more. You are awesome for sharing your knowledge to the world. I plan on furthering my career and enroll into your clases when I finish my school since right now I have to deal with 5 major classes, OP, clinic is a little hard :)
Well to answer the question:) the study times vary in Canada because some provinces do not require you to be a Registered Massage Therapist. Where I am In Ontario some courses are 16 to 18 months and once completed, we can book our OSCE exam under The CMTO (Ontario, Canada)
Most of these courses open the door to be a Registered MT and once that is done we can be excepted in other courses like LMD, acupuncture and massage using acupuncture to release trigger points for example, among other courses.
@@MassageTherapeutics915 thank you again for your wonderful videos.
JESUSELCAMINOALPADRE you are very welcome. I just realized that your name is probably not Jesus! It’s your motto. What is your name?
